3’s just kinda dookie. But it’s heavily driven by feels and themes which makes some people think it’s actually some super smart game.
3 is by far the most complex game and the game where you have greatest control over your actions and combos. All you need to know in 2 is Level 2 specials set up DoT and doing driver combos extends and amplifies the effect. You can coast through the entire game with Volcano, and it wouldn't even be suboptimal.
3 was the best of the lot. I loved 2, but the battle system was an absolute clusterfrick at times.

That's only for your regular, basic attack (otherwise you'd be pressing it nonstop). You can control basically everything else - and there's a lot to do.

I beat Xenoblade 2 at least 6 times already on PC, it's my favorite game ever but I'm never wasting my money on a shitty tablet
Other critical information, all damage is based on a characters Auto-Attack stat first and foremost. It's actually the most important stat. Ether is almost universally a better damage type than physical.

funny how standing still to auto attack is not how you do damage. you have to micromove to interrupt the animation to speed up the auto attack timer which increases your dps significantly.
The system works.
It takes a long ass time for it to get going but once it does, its really fun. Yeah, its a bit messy but once you get what everything does, its pretty easy to follow. And you can turn off names to make it less cluttered.
The only two things you need to focus on consistently are autoattack and arts, everything else like special attacks and elemental orbs is so contextual you'd have to have an actual learning disability to not be able to handle a diversion that takes less than a second.
What's wrong?
It's all crucial information, that's why it's there.
It's funny that people act like it's a babies game that plays itself because characters auto attack when just lazily auto attacking is the absolute worst way to deal damage.
Of course, anyone that has played it already knows that.
