I beat Baldesion Arsenal and never completed a single Eureka relic weapon or the elemental armor.
The relic stuff being tied to this stuff is just something that guarantees there'll be more players to populate it, the actual draw for me is the attached storyline and whatever battles there are to fight. Bozja especially had some cool shit with critical encounters, Lacus Litore, Delubrum and Dalriada.

tldr biggest time investments they added to bridge savage tier releases are Ultimates (hardest raids in the game where you tackle previous encounters on steroids e.g. imagine fighting Ultima Weapon + all ARR msq primal at the same time or Bahamut/Twintania/Nael tag team) and Field Operations (EW had no field op so only 2 exist rn) which is just open world areas with fun fates to do and basically lots of content. theres also deep dungeons (idk if palace of the dead released on ARR or in HW so u might not know about these)

Personally I think Venat's decision makes sense if you take everything into account, but Endwalker's story de-emphasized the more understandable aspects of her decision (stopping some vague form of genocide through the third sacrifice) and instead emphasized emotive shlock (the ancients are not forging ahead! they're too stuck in their ways!) in a way that, while it made for cool cutscenes, makes her look insane if you think about it for longer than a minute. The problem with trancers is that their own criticism is moralizing and self-righteous, when it should be about the fact that Endwalker conveys important information poorly and over-emphasizes its trite self-help booklet message instead of more sober storytelling.

The fundamental problem with FFXIV story is that it's written in mind that the writers can and will be replaced at any time. The previous writers leave a lot unsaid and make plot points open to interpretation. As a result the quality of the story fluctuates wildly and people are always left with this sense that something is wrong and say the the story is inconsistent.
As for Venat's reasoning, yeah I agree it's shonen bullshit on how you should believe in yourself and all that trite. If the focus was on how she thought the only way to beat Meteion was to reduce humanity's aether and stay on that point it'd be a lot more cogent and sober.
Fundamentally it's a problem of playing an "RPG" where you really have no control over the direction of the story even though you are its prime mover. It'd be a lot different if I could Venat a dumb b***h in the present and act more cynical towards her plan. Hell, in the beginning you can state outright to her face that you don't trust her as you now know she's a primal, and then the game makes you love her 100% again because that's what the story requires. No choice or consequence at all.

The Zodiark Trance comic was cringekino and funnier than anything these shit threads have produced since Stormblood. I know HW SCH was grotesquely OP and button-bloated, but I wish we had at least one healer than had half the gameplay HW SCH had. Give me a healer with at least three DoTs and I'll fill up all your adventurer in need queues Yoshida you hack.
There's a lot of middle ground between HW SCH and glue-huffing room temp iq modern healer design but t they are never going to do anything more involved than how it is now. The last two expansions now they've only gone in the direction of simplifying so there should be no expectation for Dawntrail to change that. Even with AST getting a rework every other rework post ShB has resulted in jobs being more braindead so it'll likely see the same.
Garlemald deserved its own expansion. It didn't get one because Stormblood was horribly written and the Garleans were from being a more brutal version of Archadia from FFXII to acting like a generic ersatz Nazi Germany, complete with human experimentation and endless genocide.
XIV fans love nuanced villains and Garlemald as originally written could've been that, but Stormblood made them too cartoonishly evil and so we never got a proper expansion for the empire and instead the whole country collapsed off-screen and got reduced to a single zone. Sad.

Do roulette dailies > leveling dungeons for leveling, add beast tribe dailies for some extra exp. At 60 you get wondrous tails for a free leveling roulette worth of exp every week.

16-61: Squadrons and Palace of the Dead high floor spam
61-71: Heaven on High(boring and hellish, but fast if you can find parties)
71+: Bozja until the end of time

Depends on your preference. FFXIV has next to no builds/customization, no WoW tokens and accompanying booster/boostee dominated market, and very little in the way of timegating/hamsterwheel. I beat Baldesion Arsenal and never completed a single Eureka relic weapon or the elemental armor.
The relic stuff being tied to this stuff is just something that guarantees there'll be more players to populate it, the actual draw for me is the attached storyline and whatever battles there are to fight. Bozja especially had some cool shit with critical encounters, Lacus Litore, Delubrum and Dalriada.

Won't happen. Their instance tech isn't built for phasing and you wouldn't want Operations content to occur in the same phase as someone leveling.
The game will literally never go back to fate trains, mob farms and people doing quests in the overworld to level up.
Msq and roulletes will still be the way to go. No reason to ever gp into the overworld aside from roflstomping an S rank.

whats new from the past, tbh its been so long i forgot if there was anything else than just grinding raids for bis gear and then doing jobs with the rest of your time.
tldr biggest time investments they added to bridge savage tier releases are Ultimates (hardest raids in the game where you tackle previous encounters on steroids e.g. imagine fighting Ultima Weapon + all ARR msq primal at the same time or Bahamut/Twintania/Nael tag team) and Field Operations (EW had no field op so only 2 exist rn) which is just open world areas with fun fates to do and basically lots of content. theres also deep dungeons (idk if palace of the dead released on ARR or in HW so u might not know about these)

There was a short time we were actually allowed to discuss the quality of the writing in the expansion, before it solidified into these schizophrenic waifugay tribes.
Personally I think Venat's decision makes sense if you take everything into account, but Endwalker's story de-emphasized the more understandable aspects of her decision (stopping some vague form of genocide through the third sacrifice) and instead emphasized emotive shlock (the ancients are not forging ahead! they're too stuck in their ways!) in a way that, while it made for cool cutscenes, makes her look insane if you think about it for longer than a minute. The problem with trancers is that their own criticism is moralizing and self-righteous, when it should be about the fact that Endwalker conveys important information poorly and over-emphasizes its trite self-help booklet message instead of more sober storytelling.
The fundamental problem with FFXIV story is that it's written in mind that the writers can and will be replaced at any time. The previous writers leave a lot unsaid and make plot points open to interpretation. As a result the quality of the story fluctuates wildly and people are always left with this sense that something is wrong and say the the story is inconsistent.
As for Venat's reasoning, yeah I agree it's shonen bullshit on how you should believe in yourself and all that trite. If the focus was on how she thought the only way to beat Meteion was to reduce humanity's aether and stay on that point it'd be a lot more cogent and sober.
Fundamentally it's a problem of playing an "RPG" where you really have no control over the direction of the story even though you are its prime mover. It'd be a lot different if I could Venat a dumb b***h in the present and act more cynical towards her plan. Hell, in the beginning you can state outright to her face that you don't trust her as you now know she's a primal, and then the game makes you love her 100% again because that's what the story requires. No choice or consequence at all.

SCH has always been op. There isn't a single raid tier where it wasn't meta.
There's a lot of middle ground between HW SCH and glue-huffing room temp iq modern healer design but t they are never going to do anything more involved than how it is now. The last two expansions now they've only gone in the direction of simplifying so there should be no expectation for Dawntrail to change that. Even with AST getting a rework every other rework post ShB has resulted in jobs being more braindead so it'll likely see the same.

Garlemald deserved its own expansion. It didn't get one because Stormblood was horribly written and the Garleans were from being a more brutal version of Archadia from FFXII to acting like a generic ersatz Nazi Germany, complete with human experimentation and endless genocide.
XIV fans love nuanced villains and Garlemald as originally written could've been that, but Stormblood made them too cartoonishly evil and so we never got a proper expansion for the empire and instead the whole country collapsed off-screen and got reduced to a single zone. Sad.

I read somewhere that the level cap dungeons (50/60/70) give worse exp than the ones below them, so you should spam the highest one below cap (49/59/69)

Correct. Level cap dungeons, including the numbers roulette (aka 50/60/70/80) gives extremely poor XP. Even with the roulette reward you'll get more XP hardqueueing for the highest available dungeon.
Completely true. X0 dungeons have a severely diminished exp. Even the 50/60/70/80 roulette is not good for exp and is more for tomestones.
You're better off just running the most recent X9 dungeon until you can queue for the next leveling dungeon, or using alternate exp methods to push past to that point.

Do roulette dailies > leveling dungeons for leveling, add beast tribe dailies for some extra exp. At 60 you get wondrous tails for a free leveling roulette worth of exp every week.

Hello I currently play WoW, what are the reasons for switching to XIV? I'm bored with WoW but I fear I would be bored with XIV too.
play the free trial and see if you like it or not. you have the base game and two entire expansions to go through before you need to decide if you want to open your wallet or not.
Depends on your preference. FFXIV has next to no builds/customization, no WoW tokens and accompanying booster/boostee dominated market, and very little in the way of timegating/hamsterwheel. It's a single player FF game first with at this moment 350 hours of story-focused cutscene-heavy very basic questing before you ever get to the endgame.
Just try the trial. If you absolutely dislike it, it wo'nt get better. If you can manage getting through ARR, the expansions build and improve on that template.
If you are very interested in story XIV's is very long and mandatory and it's quite good if you have the patience and attention span for it.
Social and roleplay features are pretty robust.
Combat is flashier and boss fights and dungeons are more cinematic with set mechanics and memorable animation and music.
If you try the free trial and play throw the heavensward patch series and stormblood you can get a pretty good feel for the quality of the modern game
I'll tell you what I tell everyone that says they want to give it a go. Play the free trial and make your own assumptions.
