nah this was always the best move. so many rpgs have generic boring dogshit me shoot arrow job with the same 5 moves as every other rpg with this class and maybe if we're feeling spicy we give it a dog even though we always also have a summoner style class with way more interesting magic pets
and likewise we usually have the bard as a buffbot that's either mandatory or worthless depending on if the buffs are worth losing another actually useful character
the overlap between string instrument made of wood and string weapon made of wood was an inspired one in order to give archer something to do that isn't arrow -> fire arrow -> many arrow hosrseshit and ensures that bard actually has to do something besides sing a song and jerk off as everyone else does the rest
ROG mains will get Viper this expansion. The next phys ranged will hopefully be a greatbow user so hopefully BRD can actually be about music
ROGgays are still losing because viper is actually the ff9 reference job and you go super saiyan, people who wanted mundane two sword dps man instead of magic shit are going to be let down again.
>people who wanted mundane two sword dps man
People who want this are delusional. Obviously every job is going to be magical in some way, it's a fricking JRPG. So far VPR looks like you just go Omnislash style super fast on an enemy which is as "normal" as an anime swordsman ever is

For reference this is also why Ranger and Archer rarely if ever appear in the franchise and have no staying power on their own as jobs, they're a generic archer and they don't do anything interesting on their own. Ranger's legacy is Rapid Fire (in FFXIV, Barrage) in FF5 which is also most useful when applied to literally any job that isn't Ranger since other jobs are astronomically more powerful AND just as if not more accurate than the job whose whole thing is accuracy
ranger was pretty interesting in FF11 because you had all the benefits of being a ranged in that game without having to worry about sitting all the damn time to get your MP back, but instead you were essentially shooting money because of how costly a pack of ammo could get
obviously this wouldn't work in the sort of game ff14 was going to be and even ff11 diminished it over time so ranger was just kind of a generic job after a while
PvP is the only time classes have any identity anymore
Problem is you can rec it to good lads and they'll probably try it, then immediately get hit with netcode shittery ten-fold over usual XIV and never want to experience it again
If you can tolerate the shite it's easily the best thing in the game though. Most fun I've had in XIV was as a MNK zigzagging through enemy lines to suplex mecha pilots in Rival Wings, they'd see me coming half a mile a way and start running, few would escape
That's one of the main reasons why I love pvp. I enjoy Warrior because of how fun it is to get smashed in the face and smash harder.
>Amaurot is pretty cool.
It's one of the worst dungeons in the game. 2nd and 3rd boss are absolute garbage. The trash is worse than other dungeons because they teleport in after you run past their spawn point. It's shit.
I was talking about the zone. The dungeon sucks but the music and presentation are great. I just wish they stopped using the same song for every boss encounter.
Heavensward. 3.3 to be precise. Emet was fun to be around along with hearing his opinion on the current situation was neat. I just couldn't stand the amount of jerkin' off they did to him in Endwalker.
Well, yeah, Emet didn't truly believe the Sundered were just insects. For god sake he had a son whose death broke him and made him so maudlin that he basically tried to convince himself of the "mortality sucks and mortals have no purpose and reason for living".
We arrive in Elpis, where the average Ancient does very much treat you like a creation; a thing. Because they haven't spent 12,000 years among mortals, having to fashion increasingly sturdier copes about how these mortals they've lived among aren't truly alive.
>Amaurot is pretty cool.

I will never understand why people are enamored with a boring shit race like the Ancients. Amarot was just talking about a bunch of devianart creators posting their pics for likes
I think the awe for the Ancients came from how they were introduced. Tall, ghost people making spooky sounds inside a city that broke the conventional "ancient architecture" trope with Amaurot being modeled after the 1920's art deco style.
it was a cool revelation though
we didn't know much about the Ascians before that, they were just cultist mystery homies in capes
I'm tired of all the ancient wank too, and I think Endwalker went full moron after Thavnair, but it was pretty neat to see the whole Atlantis deal
100%. Le azem of adventure shard hopping bullshit is gonna be the continuous plot for the next few expansion. Throw in Emet flashbacks every time you go to a new location and the inevitable return of Emet and Hythlodaeus one last time in the next finale. Still up in the air if Azem will join us in spirit against big bad using a container housing his pre-sundered consciousness somehow, or if he'll be an antagonist in some manner with explanation as to why he gave up on both Venat and Hades during the final days.
I don't know why so many people complain about BRD. I actually have to pay attention to my procs, especially when Minuet is close to a divisible by 3 duration and Empyreal Arrow is coming up. No, it's not pretty cool. Just because it works fine on some fights doesn't mean it's okay. Something needs to be done about how atrocious Bard is at downtime and to a lesser extent holding.

Why are all the remotely interesting characters in this game antagonists?
Because it's easier to write a somewhat interesting villain when the bar for heroes is power of friendship > all. That said, it's not like all villains are that interesting. To this day, the only ones I really liked were Nidhogg and Ilberd. You completely understood their reasons give their backstory and might even been justified to a degree, but they were still clearly villains that had to be put down.
Still think Stormblood would have been more interesting if Illberd hadn't died where he did and the expansion was fully focused on Ala Mhigo. Not that the Doma stuff was terrible, but Ala Mhigo felt frickin quarter baked.

The region as a whole had more going for it, convincing the Azim Steppe to to act as a third force and rally the downtrodden locals behind an exiled prince is fine, and Yotsuyu had enough going on over the patches to be interesting. I don't think it was delivered particularly well, but at least I can generalize a good sounding story out of it.

I agree but also add mithra, who are in the perfect catgirl ratio to avoid looking like a fursona or a lazy cosplayer the way the animal races in this game look
>hey i know we agreed to do xyz at this hour but I HAVE TO GO TO THIS BIG FISH WINDOW PLEASE TONGUE MY ANUS FOR 20MINS
fsh are the most moronic Black folk on the planet and i will tell every static/fc leader if they give fshBlack folk an inch they might as well say frick it to any semblance of punctuality
then don't sign up for it. don't join a static. don't say you'll be there for coop games then log on to xiv for 20mins because the keys have been jingled in front of you. just frick off and fish and never make any commitments because you clearly can't keep them
Bro putting off our raid night by twenty minutes isn't a deal breaker unless the whole static is so hyper autistic that we'd disband over the slightest slip-up anyways. You're right that I wouldn't be in a static with these kinds of edifices of inflexibility because each and every person in that static taking umbrage with a FSH window would be the most unreasonable strawman I could ever cook up in my mind

brother if you think being intentionally late for something for 20mins multiple times and expecting everyone else to just wait for you is A-OK i have to wonder how you even operate irl

start times are negotiable so if your static knows one of you is a fisher who needs to be away at so-and-so time and refuses to change its own time accordingly then the seven others are total Black folk and the fisher is better off finding a different static that doesn't behave like a pack of robots
3 weeks ago

there is no 'need' to fish (what a joke) and nobody ever agreed that raid times were flexible to the whims of 1 person
punctuality is an expectation for the vast majority of openly recruiting statics, yes even for the one that the fshBlack person joined, it's just common courtesy

People honor commitments IRL (sometimes) but when you commit online apparently it doesn't actually count for some reason.
I threatened to quit a static because one guy would show up 10-40 minutes late EVERY raid night and finally I said him or me. The leader kicked him and I was the fricking jerk bad guy for the rest of the raid tier for getting annoyed by having 1.5 hours wasted every week.

NTA, but you are indeed a Black person, and intentionally being late to your commitments is the b***hiest form of passive-aggression and social dominance.
If we're in a duty and you just say that shit out of nowhere and leave to fish, I'm out of the static right then and there.
If you say before raid that you're 20mins late because of a fish window, that's fine I don't care
probably one of the tanks because the highest IQ move is realizing roulette content is easiest as this role, harder content is unbeatable without this role, and MSQ content is the most fun because you have enough of a dps kit to not sit there sleeping but have nerfed damage so you don't kill them instantly like most dps do
Game-wise Gunbreaker is, literally, Squall + Seifer as its own job, so there's no reason to go outside of this aesthetic
Lore-wise the Gunbreaker's artifact armor in Shadowbringers is already 100% completely tailored to a Gunbreaker's wants and needs (ie they wear a trenchcoat because it's like an armored version of a mage's robes and Gunbreakers are still, at the end of the day, a form of mage) so the only thing people can really do for it when making armor with a Gunbreaker's wants and needs in mind is riff off of the Bodyguard set
Designers are allergic to good designs. You will enjoy your static coats, you will enjoy butt capes, you will enjoy long fending skirts. I fricking weep knowing that they were once capable of proper edgy armor that looked good when it was a reward for The Feast while now we get absolutely terrible trash for the battle pass armor. Two helmets with baked-in hair is downright hilarious.
Because that's what the feast armor was, but for whatever reason they put in no effort designing the new stuff. Old feast armor all had unique looks that weren't overloaded with capes, but this new shit is like 50 layers of capes for everything.
>you will enjoy long fending skirts.
oh no….not the 3 fending skirts….its so over…
you little Black folk really need to grow up. You see a robe and you throw a temper tantrum. Most gear in this game isn’t robes anyway. Go back to ff11 if a simple robe makes you dilate so hard.
Robes don't look good in this game and that's a fact. It's clear at this point that the gear designers don't play the game and have no idea that the lack of basic cloth physics makes all robes look like shit. >wear Halone or Garo maiming top >shoulder cloth sticks out at a 90 degree angle if character folds his arms
It's a travesty, really
You lost this war already, cloth physics, jump animations and weapon/gear attachments like tassels on swords are better or are actually animated in the first place as of Dawntrail
3 weeks ago
Anonymous
The EW SAM armor dies the same thing with it's sleeves. Tassels on armor don't animate naturally because they're always considered part of a robe or skirt, look at the tassels on the left side of the new MNK chest piece to see what I mean. On weapons it's a tossup, but the illusions fall apart immediately in idle stances like with the current DNC tome weapon.

They literally datamined improved physics goofy goober
Robes are shit in this game because most of them aren’t even actual robes and they only go down to the ankles at best most of the time. This is why the Elpis robe is the best in the game because it actually goes past and trails the floor a little, like an actual long robe. Of course there are still physics issues because of the jank game like you said.
It’s like long hair, sure it’s going to clip but everything clips in this game, just give me options already.
I want them to lean into the actual trenchcoat and have a WW1-themed AF set, complete with a gunblade that's a mix of a trench knife and a trench shotgun. I feel like it would fit the class's vibe, considering what we've seen of Bozja and how they're renowned for rushing down people using guns.
because GNB is just yoshiP paying lip service to nomura and ff8 gays the same way RPR is just him paying lip service to tanaka and all the other ff11 oldheads by making the dps scythe dark knight from that game and also just gets the same outfit over and over again
Larxene is also supposed to be a Ninja, Xaldin is a Dragoon, Lexaeus is a Warrior, Saix is a Berserker, Luxord is a Gambler, Axel is called an Assassin. Ninjas usually just get Raiton for lightning, the wind association with Dragoons is variable, Warriors hold no earth association, Berserker usually is associated more with fire or earth than the moon, Gamblers aren't associated with time, Assassin has so little job identity that the fire association is unique to Axel
You think you do but you don't >Stoneskin
Generally used to be waste of GCD at 10% of the healthpool because Cure II outscaled it and at best you'd cast it only when you were absolutely sure the target would die otherwise. At 18% it was sometimes valuable but the general rule still applied. Dogshit ability, OGCD Benison is much better >Protect
Perfunctory garbage that's unnoticeable normally and needlessly punishes healers whenever someone dies >Cleric Stance
I love clipping my gcd >Eye for an Eye
Would be a shame if it didn't work on magic attacks too bad every raid boss shits out magic damage
The reason Yshtola doesn't get screentime is because no one ever bothered to actually write a character arc for her. Shit, even in Ultima Thule her sacrifice arc amounts to "Yeah learning is cool" without any sort of real payoff for any previous character development.
They should really use old expansion artifact armors for more characters, maybe for players they are outdated but for NPCs it’s an easy way to make extremely striking and iconic designs (just look at Ardbert and his crew)
AF armor in general is signifying of a character that's come into their own, truth be told I'm not really sure of many characters that they could give AFs without it being really gauche. Alisaie doesn't have Red Mage AF because she didn't finish her training
Is the FFXVI event worth resubbing to do? It ends tomorrow. I looked at the rewards and they don't really bother me that much. Although I get that FOMO feeling

Stop giving reason to whine then
>Waifu boring hag
>Complain she's a boring hag
The circle of life
>Be Yugiri
>Best wife candidate
How do we marry Yugiri?
You can't. I already did.
You close up FFXIV.
You open up Koikatsu.
You make Yugiri in it.
You pretend this game doesn't hate it's female characters.
Yugiri is the third best wife candidate after Khloe and Ryne.
Why are all the remotely interesting characters in this game antagonists?
because you are a loser who blames society for your problems so agree with villains who want to change it
>Projection
Alright.
>passive aggressiveness
I was right.
imagine how much better this game would be if the only races were midlander/elezen/roe/lala
>lala
No.
lalas have too much interesting lore and also the gooch himself plays one so they deserve to exist
I agree but also add mithra, who are in the perfect catgirl ratio to avoid looking like a fursona or a lazy cosplayer the way the animal races in this game look
whats the most high iq job
you posted it
Ultima Thule was gaytarded
>brooo what if there was a cafe at the end of time and space
FSH
Dawntrail will upgrade Cast
What is it going to be bros?
FSH is going to be the ultinate caster
You can now cast into aetheryte plazas and catch AFKers
being able to fish allagan bronze pieces or gysahl greens off of players in aetheryte plazas would kick fricking ass
>hey i know we agreed to do xyz at this hour but I HAVE TO GO TO THIS BIG FISH WINDOW PLEASE TONGUE MY ANUS FOR 20MINS
fsh are the most moronic Black folk on the planet and i will tell every static/fc leader if they give fshBlack folk an inch they might as well say frick it to any semblance of punctuality
If they begrudge me for not taking a window that might not be around again for another real-world fricking week then they ain't my bros
then don't sign up for it. don't join a static. don't say you'll be there for coop games then log on to xiv for 20mins because the keys have been jingled in front of you. just frick off and fish and never make any commitments because you clearly can't keep them
Bro putting off our raid night by twenty minutes isn't a deal breaker unless the whole static is so hyper autistic that we'd disband over the slightest slip-up anyways. You're right that I wouldn't be in a static with these kinds of edifices of inflexibility because each and every person in that static taking umbrage with a FSH window would be the most unreasonable strawman I could ever cook up in my mind
brother if you think being intentionally late for something for 20mins multiple times and expecting everyone else to just wait for you is A-OK i have to wonder how you even operate irl
start times are negotiable so if your static knows one of you is a fisher who needs to be away at so-and-so time and refuses to change its own time accordingly then the seven others are total Black folk and the fisher is better off finding a different static that doesn't behave like a pack of robots
there is no 'need' to fish (what a joke) and nobody ever agreed that raid times were flexible to the whims of 1 person
punctuality is an expectation for the vast majority of openly recruiting statics, yes even for the one that the fshBlack person joined, it's just common courtesy
>there is no 'need' to fish (what a joke)
Raidloggers tongue my anus
>fishing
You'll get the window in another two weeks.
This is probably going into the bait rotation: why the people who show up on time are actually Black folk.
>why the people who show up on time are actually Black folk
*why your iron-rigid static that has never heard the word "compromise" before in its life is actually not seven Black folk standing on eachothers' shoulders in a trenchcoat
Please let me catch Ruby Dragon it's the last one left Before starting Ocean Fishing
GNB
probably one of the tanks because the highest IQ move is realizing roulette content is easiest as this role, harder content is unbeatable without this role, and MSQ content is the most fun because you have enough of a dps kit to not sit there sleeping but have nerfed damage so you don't kill them instantly like most dps do
In what content?
This question can't be answered in a vacuum.
What fricking fight are you asking about, casual?
PvP Gunbreaker
You do the FF8 draw on enemy players and attribute their role to yourself, with added effects and abilities
It's kino
SCH
Are the servers still fricked?
why is gnb armor all the same trenchcoat., The game needs more jacket-capes, fricking zenos shouldn't have been the only character to have one.
I just wish they'd get something a bit more armored but still keeping the GNB flavour.
because that's the gnb aesthetic
Game-wise Gunbreaker is, literally, Squall + Seifer as its own job, so there's no reason to go outside of this aesthetic
Lore-wise the Gunbreaker's artifact armor in Shadowbringers is already 100% completely tailored to a Gunbreaker's wants and needs (ie they wear a trenchcoat because it's like an armored version of a mage's robes and Gunbreakers are still, at the end of the day, a form of mage) so the only thing people can really do for it when making armor with a Gunbreaker's wants and needs in mind is riff off of the Bodyguard set
GNB is the school shooter job. They even have a button to shoot themselves in the head at the end
Two helmets with baked-in hair is downright hilarious.
>fricking every battlepass set is edgy tank glam
Why the frick would they do this
because only edgelords care about pvp
It's clear at this point that the gear designers don't play the game and have no idea that the lack of basic cloth physics makes all robes look like shit.
>wear Halone or Garo maiming top
>shoulder cloth sticks out at a 90 degree angle if character folds his arms
It's a travesty, really
>lack of basic cloth physics
then come back in two months and you'll get everything you want i guess
>he thinks the update is doing anything for that
You lost this war already, cloth physics, jump animations and weapon/gear attachments like tassels on swords are better or are actually animated in the first place as of Dawntrail
The EW SAM armor dies the same thing with it's sleeves. Tassels on armor don't animate naturally because they're always considered part of a robe or skirt, look at the tassels on the left side of the new MNK chest piece to see what I mean. On weapons it's a tossup, but the illusions fall apart immediately in idle stances like with the current DNC tome weapon.
wtf are you talking about
They literally datamined improved physics goofy goober
Robes are shit in this game because most of them aren’t even actual robes and they only go down to the ankles at best most of the time. This is why the Elpis robe is the best in the game because it actually goes past and trails the floor a little, like an actual long robe. Of course there are still physics issues because of the jank game like you said.
It’s like long hair, sure it’s going to clip but everything clips in this game, just give me options already.
now show us paul allen's mmo armor
I want them to lean into the actual trenchcoat and have a WW1-themed AF set, complete with a gunblade that's a mix of a trench knife and a trench shotgun. I feel like it would fit the class's vibe, considering what we've seen of Bozja and how they're renowned for rushing down people using guns.
I don't think we're getting anything closer than the Filibuster gear
because GNB is just yoshiP paying lip service to nomura and ff8 gays the same way RPR is just him paying lip service to tanaka and all the other ff11 oldheads by making the dps scythe dark knight from that game and also just gets the same outfit over and over again
>the same way RPR is just him paying lip service to tanaka and all the other ff11 oldheads by
It's Marluxia
>RPR has 0 flower theme moves or animations
>RPR has several ff11 drk moves
Larxene is also supposed to be a Ninja, Xaldin is a Dragoon, Lexaeus is a Warrior, Saix is a Berserker, Luxord is a Gambler, Axel is called an Assassin. Ninjas usually just get Raiton for lightning, the wind association with Dragoons is variable, Warriors hold no earth association, Berserker usually is associated more with fire or earth than the moon, Gamblers aren't associated with time, Assassin has so little job identity that the fire association is unique to Axel
what more can they take from us whmsisters...
You think you do but you don't
>Stoneskin
Generally used to be waste of GCD at 10% of the healthpool because Cure II outscaled it and at best you'd cast it only when you were absolutely sure the target would die otherwise. At 18% it was sometimes valuable but the general rule still applied. Dogshit ability, OGCD Benison is much better
>Protect
Perfunctory garbage that's unnoticeable normally and needlessly punishes healers whenever someone dies
>Cleric Stance
I love clipping my gcd
>Eye for an Eye
Would be a shame if it didn't work on magic attacks too bad every raid boss shits out magic damage
ARR healer design was DOG and SHIT
stoneskin and protect were obviously bad ideas but cleric stance and eye could've just been made good
ARR was the only time playing healer was fun.
Alisaie doesn't have Red Mage AF because she didn't finish her training
>posts a free sample for tataru's business that everybody around him says doesn't suit him at all
is purple lalaf still here?
Is the FFXVI event worth resubbing to do? It ends tomorrow. I looked at the rewards and they don't really bother me that much. Although I get that FOMO feeling
If you don't want a Clive outfit don't bother yeah.
>If you don't want a Clive outfit don't bother yeah.
I don't really. Plus if everyone is running around in it, it's kinda lame and not very unique.
On the Mog Shop more than likely
if it isn't added to the mogstation within a month or two of the event ending then it's not going to be added there
t. noctis outfit
FF15 rewards are not in the mogshop
>On the Mog Shop more than likely
the ff15 crossover returned at least twice now I think?
the ff16 crossover will probably return at least once, especially since it's yoship's baby
and he also said he wants to make a part 2 eventually after 16 releases for pc
it'll probably return at some point
Gnb is the actual cowboy job since mch is just a zany Black person with guild wars 2 gadgets
are we still getting ddosssdd
They ever fix the ddos?
What did Koji mean by this?
Lol thread autosaged
Why is the janny like this?
Basically this
Gotta make room for more Nintendo financial report threads on the video game board
Don’t forget native marketing for latest gay porn roguelite
My reaper made a pact with this guy. Say something nice about it.
you figure nin or viper are better for dual blade haseo?
Viper, not even a competition.
Clive wasn't the greatest FF protag around but did they have to make him so fricking boring for the crossover?
Thanks mods
aether eureka players are all Black folk
Come to Crystal, white man. PT 27
Oh, "Around israelites Never Snooze" is better I think.
