I've been playing since the end of ARR and was just complaining about the removal of Monk's Tornado Kick rotation in the other thread. I want Viper to have GCD speed manipulation like old Riddle of Fire, since the slide specifically mentioned difference of speed between dual blades and twinblade.
Being a veteran or new to the game doesn't mean I can't huff copium and hope for things to get better. They HAVE to hear about people being mad about removal of complexity and removal of DoTs and maybe think that a new job that can house those mechanics isn't the worst idea, right?

I know people talk about how you can go through and experience it solo nowadays, but if I wanted to go through the game with a friend or two, is it actually a decent experience? Or is it like XIV where we are basically just clicking through our own separate MSQ bubbles and meeting up for instanced content every now and again?
You can go anywhere with your friend and not be locked out, just make sure you're on the same main scenario.
i'm doing that on a private server, it's very fun, not sure if retail is more convenient now but we've had tough battles and we often need to just sit and rest somewhere while questing

Another reason was Covid. Hit japan hard and they are all still struggling to get back on track.
Just look how many delays there were for anime figures. Some took over a year after the planned release to come out.
I do know one of things they constantly mentioned was that updating the Trust/Duty Support for all the old content was taking up a lot of valuable resources that would normally be spent elsewhere. I kind of hope someone keeps them accountable and tells us what those resources got moved to during DT production so we can see that it isn't just lost like you're describing.

The either needed to just put a damn aetheryte in Vesper Bay or just give you some unlimited use item that teleports you directly into it from anywhere.

They cut quite a bit from the MSQ but instead now you have to run the entire alliance raid quest line from ARR. It evens out in actual playtime pretty much.
The worst thing they could do is increase graphics enough that minimum specs raise too far and most of their player base can't play on their potato PCs anymore. Wouldn't be surprised if keeping a certain minimum specs is their biggest limiter on updating the game.

Creator at least had HP-based phase pushes and some degree of mechanical RNG way beyond what Savage raids today do. Every raid today is fixed unchanging timeline with 100% uptime, which means the optimal way to play is the exact same sequence of buttons every time.

They fricked up and designed a single extreme primal (literal midcore content) wrong by making a tricky mechanic too easy to skip with moderately high DPS and, as is typical of CBU3, they reacted to this minor problem by just excising an entire element of the game completely.
Literally all they needed to do was design their fights better so that trickier mechanics wouldn't be possible to skip within the same patch a fight comes out, but alas, easier to just rip out an entire design element.

moron. People on Ganker have been talking about rotation bot shit since the beginning of the expansion, probably earlier but early Endwalker was when I first heard of it.
The completely linear timeline combat design and total lack of RNG elements in rotations was inevitably going to end with this kind of bot becoming viable, since they handle the entire (deterministic) rotation but the player still has to handle movement for mechanics.

Berserker in FF meant you started battles with buffed damage but you become an auto attack bot with literally zero player input, leaning on series tradition isn't what you want for something like this.
Sounds perfect for a tank that traditionally has a more simplified moveset. Because we can't actually take control away from the player, maybe we just have them spam one move over and over again to simulate the powerful auto attacks. Maybe give it like a chainsaw effect or something just to make it feel raw and powerful.

the only ones you can't unlock in arr are machinist astrologian and dark knight, the limiting factor for every other job is leveling to max level in ARR content only.
It's all based on level now. Theoretically you could grind EXP up and unlock any job before even finishing ARR, minus the Ishgard jobs.

Pressing two buttons in rapid succession js about as complex execution wise as this game gets.
Yoshida claimed that Reaper was technically demanding and complex too and then it turned out to be a slightly-modified melee version of Machinist with more satisfying animations. On the expansion where melees get free uptime anyway and thus don't feel that different from rangeds.
Don't believe any words coming out of Yoshida's mouth concerning how difficult or complex anything in this game will be.
