well, its not much like that tbh. Its much more on rails, less innovative quest design than BC/WOTLK, zone design is way worse, gearing is pretty boring (basically just wear the highest ilvl stuff till 90, and even then unless you want to parsetroony hard it still works). There is no incidental world pvp either, pvp is completely its own seperate ghetto. What it excels at compared to WoW is story, music, voice acting, side content, and how armor / gear looks (dress up). Housing is actually fun if you are a creative type.
It's a different game tbh. If you go into it expecting it to be WoW, then you'll end up in disappointment.
Best advice I could give is to give the free trial a try when you can and to not skip past stuff and try a little bit of everything. See if the world clicks for you.

You can't use the bank, trade, or auction either. It isn't a big deal if you're just doing the story, but trying to level crafters on a free trial is pretty annoying. But its a necessary evil to keep chinks from totally fricking the economy even more than their bots already do.
If I remember, it works kind of in the opposite direction: You have to pay the sub to play, but don't have to have PS+ or Xbox Live to do it.
I remember having a similar question when I got ESO for Playstation, because I found out I didn't have to have PS+ to play it since it doesn't have a subscription fee.

to expand on this:
in normal content as a tank you can pretty much ignore the rest of the group and do your simplified rotation and clear. Hopefully everyone else survives, but if they don't, its not your problem. The only real way to frick up is positioning on some older bosses (cleaving the entire raid).
In hard content its even easier, you usually have a tank swap mechanic, and thats it. The game doesn't even throw loose adds at you anymore.

It's from the Lv50 job quest of one of the gathering / crafting jobs in the desert city. I forget which one, it's been too long since I've played, but that cutscene was great with how surprising it was. Another Lalafell dude that you're friends with rushes in to rescue her and tell the other guy to back off, and then it ends very soon after that. Will the sword and the gun be separated and one goes to the offhand slot like Paladin, or both are in the main slot like both daggers from Ninja?
If it takes after Ninja and it's Scouting, the gun will probably be its own mechanic that you use for powerful one-off attacks or AoE effects, and have burst mechanics that tie into it in the same manner as Ten-Chi-Jin
I could see them kind of going the Cannoneer route and also having a 1, 2, 3 skill dial-a-combo system, but that would be too derivative of Ninja I think
I think an RNG dice-roll system would fit into Corsair's job identity beautifully so long as it's not TOO random, about as random as Bard's DoT procs where you can be feasibly waiting a good while to get boosted skill-speed or an arrow rain time reduction, depending purely on how RNGesus feels

well, its not much like that tbh. Its much more on rails, less innovative quest design than BC/WOTLK, zone design is way worse, gearing is pretty boring (basically just wear the highest ilvl stuff till 90, and even then unless you want to parsetroony hard it still works). There is no incidental world pvp either, pvp is completely its own seperate ghetto. What it excels at compared to WoW is story, music, voice acting, side content, and how armor / gear looks (dress up). Housing is actually fun if you are a creative type.
It's not for everyone, but I guess that's what the free trial is for. For what it's worth the controller support is great
It's a different game tbh. If you go into it expecting it to be WoW, then you'll end up in disappointment.
Best advice I could give is to give the free trial a try when you can and to not skip past stuff and try a little bit of everything. See if the world clicks for you.

If I remember, it works kind of in the opposite direction: You have to pay the sub to play, but don't have to have PS+ or Xbox Live to do it.

it depends on the content. Usually tanking is the easiest job. I know this because I am not a wowfugee, so I play all three roles regularly.
to expand on this:
in normal content as a tank you can pretty much ignore the rest of the group and do your simplified rotation and clear. Hopefully everyone else survives, but if they don't, its not your problem. The only real way to frick up is positioning on some older bosses (cleaving the entire raid).
In hard content its even easier, you usually have a tank swap mechanic, and thats it. The game doesn't even throw loose adds at you anymore.
i wish there was a healer shortage. statics are still picky as hell if you don't have parses and i dont want to deal with PF
this tier was a lot easier than last tiers p5 and p81/2, the only hard one was p10 kind of. even p12part2 is a cakewalk compared to how much damage was going out in p8part2

I forget which one, it's been too long since I've played, but that cutscene was great with how surprising it was. Another Lalafell dude that you're friends with rushes in to rescue her and tell the other guy to back off, and then it ends very soon after that. It's pretty hilarious how quickly and ridiculously the situations escalated and then diminished.

I really can't think of any reason for this. The little bits of him you can see are his Sage outfit. Alisaie looks the same so they aren't growing up. What other possible reason could there be to hide him?
I think someone else (probably the female voice at the end) is on the boat in that shot but she's walking/standing close to Alphinaud which is why we don't see him.

Ok, so if corsair uses a sword and a gun, then how will they implement it?
Will the sword and the gun be separated and one goes to the offhand slot like Paladin, or both are in the main slot like both daggers from Ninja?
If it takes after Ninja and it's Scouting, the gun will probably be its own mechanic that you use for powerful one-off attacks or AoE effects, and have burst mechanics that tie into it in the same manner as Ten-Chi-Jin
I could see them kind of going the Cannoneer route and also having a 1, 2, 3 skill dial-a-combo system, but that would be too derivative of Ninja I think
