If they are on the rear, then in front of them is thordan AND the eye so they have 270 degrees of safety
You don't need to be looking 180 degrees away from a gaze to avoid it
Gazes can be really janky, but from my experience you can be facing perpendicular to the direction of the gaze and be fine. What can really get you in trouble is if you have the "auto-face the boss when you use a skill" option enabled.
But what about controller players like me?
Then you're playing EZ mode because you can easily change your facing independent of your movement direction.

In a cruel twist of fate even the worst game the company has ever made, FF15, has one hell of an OST. Most of it done by Shimomura(Kingdom Hearts) and even the DLC bringing in other Square Enix guest composers so you end up with some wild shit like

It's actually criminal that they don't have him on XIV, no one sets the mood like he does. Soken does great battle themes and whatnot but he's honestly not that great at zone BGM.
No setting is too tough, he nails it every time.
Mizuta knows to keep instrument count low and rely on the main melody. Partly due to PS2limitations, but also due to that's what the rules the other main composers for XI's launch wanted to abide by to set the tone.
His final pieces for XI were pretty good as well, although the latter piece here breaks a few 'rules' of how XI music should sound, similar to the Omen theme.

There's actually a pretty good point of comparison here where in Heavensward they also had a trial series based on a group of iconic bosses in an old SNES FF game which shared one battle theme, except back then they'd actually shift into a banger original song unlike anything else you'd heard in the game up to that point for the second phase which gave them way more character and personality than just having a variation of the same SNES track three times.

Honestly DRK feels like the absolute worse tank almost entirely because it feels like it isn't designed to be a tank. People say WAR and GNB are more selfish, but WAR is literally designed to survive as hard as possible, and GNB has a number of personal and party buff capabilities that are ridiculously useful. DRK has some magic damage and single target mits and otherwise has the weakest damage mitigation of the entire bunch. It feels like they wanted to make a DPS class and then slapped some basic shit on top so you have a jack of both trades but not good at either.
well that wasn't entirely the case before, they've taken away from drk's kit instead of giving it more
as for the class itself, it was a dps in ff11 but in hw and shb it was probably the best tank all around, specially because so many things did magic autos
as a drk you have the best magic mitigation in the game but it's fight dependant

i think it's more a case of the reception towards shb war and whm were so good that they decided to turn all the jobs that were similar into those specific jobs
if we look at drk it was changed to be more like shb war and every other tank also got their mits removed and made to be like war
it's like they made some basic guidelines based on war to make every other tank have something similar to its kit, vengeance has always been good so now everyone gets the 30% mit, we removed crits so no need for awareness and instead everyone gets something a job specific 10%-20% mit because war cannot lose its thrill of battle
if you ever wondered why gnb is so fun is because it was introduced as a job after these changes were decided and if you think pld is fun then it's probably because of the same reason since it got reworked

dark knight has been ruined since its very inception because they made the braindead decision to make it a tank
since it has no job identity (that they'll give it outside of pvp, anyway) it's just paladin but edgy,
DRK is basically the same as it ever was except the other tanks got powercrept such that drk's appeal (best in role dps) is gone. the the job has always been very slightly more annoying to tank on (since you have to hit a bunch of buttons to mit TBs compared to other jobs) but made up for it by having the best damage, except now his numbers are small so the incentive isn't there
I really hope they buff/change Oblation for 7.0. It pales in comparison to Heart of Corundum, Nascent Flash and Divine Veil

You can't say that shit about DRK without also applying it to GNB. GNB plays way more like a DPS than DRK does, APM-wise. Heart of Light and Dark Missionary are the same fricking skill with a different icon, and Aurora/Camouflage are more consistently useful than Dark Mind (which is awesome if there's magical TBs). I suppose HoC is a better short cooldown than TBN.

what the frick are you talking about, you activate living dead in a dungeon pull, hit unleash 1 time and heal 1500 potency per target hit so you get like 900% overhealing
The 1500 potency heal goes away when you get healed for 100% of your health, so you're supposed to wait until LD has a few seconds remaining before you Benediction yourself with an AoE weaponskill. In this case, however, the healer healed me enough that it cucked me out of my self-heal and I got fricked.

The Prelude is literally used all throughout the game as Hydaelyn's theme, EW introduced two new tracks with a piano version of Answers and Flow and any scene where either plays could have easily had the Prelude instead.

If you're a baby sprout still at level 15 doing those quests your only frame of reference for the history of this game and its in-universe lore is the Calamity that everyone sees at the start and is a focal point of the story of base ARR.
But look at the game as a whole: Answers is barely played in any expansion content, the only thing I can think of off the top of my head is the Bahamut fight in Bozja and the bit where Papalymo stops Shinryu.

Reminder that in Stormblood there are six (6) separate occasions where a villain simply runs away (3 times accompanied by a smoke bomb out of nowhere) while everyone looks at them and does nothing, only for them to return and kill more people. The writers literally go "and then they confront her in the tower but she escapes, so then they confront her at the bridge but she escapes, so then they confront her in the command center but she escapes" and so on. I love that expansion for its content, the effort they put into the zones, the amount of detail in places like Kugane, but the MSQ is almost unbearable after the Azim Steppe and goes into freefall until 4.4.

I disagree. The problem was very unique to SB. Yes, there are some not as interesting parts in other expansions too, but SB is the only time where genuinely nonsensical things happen. In no other expansion is there a scene like "the woman who is mentally a child and needs constant supervision manages to escape while being watched by one of the best ninja's in the world... twice.".
Yanxia's aesthetic is kino. The day and night themes are also excellent.

Azim Steppe had a bunch of fun characters and well realized lore (even if most of it is just heavily inspired by mongolian myth, it's still something you don't often see in video games) combined with some great aesthetics and music.
steppe makes Hien seem like he'll be a good character and does actually make a good character out of Gosetsu, its the most solid turd in a cistern of diarrhea since it actually goes out of its way to introduce meaningful characters rather than *clenches fist* "it cant be helped" for the 12th time
Frankly the MSQ is best described as stellar highlights buried between mountains of horseshit. ARR may be a drag, StB may be frickawful, but the entire story of this game is them setting up tons of ideas, and then pissing 90% of them away as the characters are consistently fricking moronic until a final do-or-die confrontation. if it even happens and expectations don't get subverted by Garlemald getting folded near-entirely off-screen in what feels like may have been days/weeks at best.

DRK was the top dog this expansion in terms of both mitigation and dps. Almost all scary busters were magical which made dark mind really good.
DRK also had more externals(2 charges of oblation). Tank sustain is irrelevant, healers have more single target heals than ever and you want to survive those busters first. Warriors were shitting and pissing themselves in abysoss because bedwetting wasn't enough to deal with week 1 tank bleeds. DRK on the other hand could kitchen sink and take solo stacks in p7s lmfao
DRK players are throwing a fit because they are sliding down the DPS charts and trying to ignore all of those facts about mitigation, it's so tiresome. Let's not even bring up how much of a menace DRK is in PVP too.

For the longest time they've had no idea what to do with DRG so they simply drop another skill ontop of what's there and move on. This wasn't a problem at first but now they have a bunch of tacked on shit that ends up being more annoying than anything, especially considering how easily and unenjoyable it is to desync a single button on the job.
Theres no room to add anything to DRG's kit. All it got for EW was a single GcD makeover and another Geirskogul oGcD to throw out.
Ideally DRG rework frees the uniquely DRG actions, like every single jump, from being exclusive to off-global's. In reality, they'll probably frick something up and leave it feeling worse.
DRG needs it's buttons condensed. Put some things on the same button or something.
But MNK already got the DRG treatment where it now has a strict combo you need to follow.
mnk mains will tell you that's not true because they drift all the time but it is true

Yes, that's the two minute meta raiders wanted to they could micro optimize every single fight by mapping out every single action in every fight.
Couple that with SE seeing reactive design was "bad" in HW and we'll likely never get anything else.
You can't really add reactive design to a game that adds artificial 500 ms delay to every action. So long as they have their netcode issues of being snapshotted by AOE, reactive design is an impossibility. But the two minute homosexualry has to go, I a gree.

No, I wouldn't either, because PLD is a GNB clone. Those are two very different things. PLD was killed so that GNB could be pasted over it.
NTA, but I'd say they're similar in structure except GNB has way more weaving while PLD has some double weaves every 30s or so. Both of them require you to monitor your burst buff cooldown to make sure you have resources saved up to use under it (enough cartridges for gnashing fang/DD for GNB, a divine might charge for PLD), and you have to make absolutely sure to use Gnashing Fang/Goring Blade on cooldown.
They did the same to DRK and WAR, except WAR is worse in every way and no, homosexuals, if you never see content outside of expert roulette don't fricking talk to me about how WAR is good because it can solo a dungeon.
