Yakuza

>spend more than 15+ years working on a game franchise, putting your whole heart and soul into it only to suddenly be thrown out of the company then have someone else replace you as the head director and producer of the thing that was yours and you helped create and get to where it is in this very moment
How the frick does one even manage to deal with something like this? I'd probably just snap and kill all the execs responsible for such a decision. Imagine having no say in the matter of your own creation anymore.

during an interview, he called Nintendo fans the equivalent of "söycucks" in Japanese and said the Switch was a console for children and kids games, which is why he's not porting the Yakuza games to it and only sticking to consoles (Xbox, Playstation) and PC releases.

SEGA then ended up forcing him to step down from his position as the one in charge of the studio and his own franchise then he left the company to create his own indie studio working together with the chinese instead who are helping him fund his future titles.

He was actually taking bribes to keep Yakuza off the Switch. Getting wined and dined by Sony execs

It wasn't Nintendo games he said this stuff about, it was PuyoPuyo fans. SEGA had him on the mic during a promotional Puyo Puyo event and he called one of the players a chigyu and everyone got mad at him.

Don't forget the fact that it's WRONG for a white man to voice a Japanese character, therefore they did the morally right thing by casting a Japanese person.

Yong Yea is the voice actor for Kiryu, so clearly something has gone awry at RGG to allow such a moronic decision to go ahead. I hope he puts out something else good with his new studio.

He'll probably get fired since he brought attention to SEGA removing a bunch of people from the credits of the Yakuza games on GOG, something they were probably hoping nobody would notice.

I hope Yong gets fired but they've likely all recording all of his lines, at least Yong has basically said he's been working with Sega already. So it's unlikely they're going to throw away all that recording studio hire costs out the window. It's pretty expensive to do that.

Nintendo patched Fire Emblem 3H and Heroes to remove the original VA for Byleth. Granted, Kiryu talks more than Byleth, but it's still a thing companies would do. There's also that time Hitman Absolution was going to replace the voice of 47 with some celebrity or something and then like 4 months before the game came out they redid all the scenes for the game with his original VA.

        >Who the frick plays Yakuza dubbed?
It's no excuse. Sega should be held accountable when they use a dub and don't treat the characters with proper respect. Use the original actor, they could do it with 7 and there was no complaints from anyone with that. Anyone who didn't like it could change it obviously, but that's still treating it with dignity.

connections in the industry and the fact that SEGA can use him as a free marketing tool for the game in the west. the japs don't actually care about putting effort into the dubs for these games, they're legit just using it as a means to further market the game in the West.

I will say, it's better to like cheesy beef bowls over basedmilk. cheesy beef bowls are more an insult because it's a childish thing to order, like ordering a steak well done with ketchup, so the type of person that would order it has a specific type of personality. basedmilk is just gross.
