one thing that i hope to come with ai being prevalent in future AAA game devlopment is that they can just get their samey assets done a LOT quicker and it wouldnt eat up 60% of the dev time
>The new classes in Y7 were garbage.
Matriarch is one of Eri's best jobs. Devil Rocker is the one that sucks.

Ultimate edition worth it lads? Steam is shilling it hard, feel bad for not buying it
No. Master vacation Bundle is just the Premium Masters Pack from 7, so unless you want the TFMT 2.0 and NG+ it's not really worth it. Will probably be mandatory if going for 100% since there's no way it doesn't have DLC trophies/achievements like in 7.
Assorted Outfit Pack is very likely like 7 so it'll be a handful of outfits you can't wear outside of combat until PA and do you really, really need those?
Yakuza CD Collection Set is better than it was in 7 since you can actually listen to the music while roaming around now instead of in the bars, but it's a terrible value proposition since you can just, you know, open up Youtube on a second monitor or your phone if you really gotta have all those karaoke songs.
That's the TFMT 2.0 which would be coming with the Master Vacation Bundle because the MVB is just the Premium Masters Pack for 8 which came with the TFMT, level 99 jobs, EX EX weapons, NG+, Hard and Ex-Hard/Legend, and some new outfits.
>Eri's best jobs
Why would anyone add that potato faced b***h to their party?
Because she's literally one of the strongest characters in the game, gets two turns like Han does for every one your other party members get due to her Agility (The main stat that matters in 7), and she has the highest attack stat beating out Zhao by a couple points. The objectively best party is Ichiban (Hero), Han (Enforcer), Eri (Dealer or Matriarch), Saeko (Idol).

So wait, I have to spend an extra $15 just to be able to platinum the game?
Yeah, I'll probably do this too. It might even be cheaper this way since the extra DLC and other stuff included in the Deluxe edition will probably be available as separate DLC. (I do not give a flying frick about costumes or minigame cheat characters.)
Can someone explain the appeal of the series to me?
I played a fair bit of the original on PS2 and it was alright, but how come have they made so many of these? Aren't they all very samey, long and "moviegames"?
the only content that's even remotely worth looking out for are the 2 jobs available as a pre-order bonus.
If you're on PC, you can also get the swimwear outfits for free with mods. Anything else, like NG+ will be available separately, so you might as well wait for the early adopters to confirm whether it's worth it or not
nta, but it's definitely one of those cases where "you just get it". Yakuza is the only franchise where I admire even the smallest stuff and don't mind replaying the older games, just because of the "experience"
>Can someone explain the appeal of the series to me?
Virtual tourism with a map that keeps changing with each game due to how it changes in real life.
Combat is extremely fun because of the freedom you are given in how you approach fights. The JRPG games aren't as fun because the system is very limited and barebones, but they're slowly addressing that even though I don't think they'll reach a point where it's as fun as the brawlers for years to come.
Boss fights are very hype because of dynamic intros that launch you straight into gameplay from a cutscene. These are much worse in the JRPG games because they lose all their flare but that's sort of to be expected because of the genre.
Fantastic music.
Characters are really enjoyable and each game typically has several characters who are endearing and you wan to see more of.
Stories are interesting, sometimes Saw levels of twists, sometimes just really solid twists, and like in Lost Judgment a very interesting moral debate. They also put a focus on the downtrodden of society and issues plaguing society today which they'd like to bring attention to such as homelessness, human trafficking, illegal immigration, etc. >Aren't they all very samey, long and "moviegames"?
That is literally the appeal for most people. If long cutscenes bother you the series isn't for you. It's not MGS level but it's up there.
>spend an extra $30 so you can beat the side content faster and have to grind up to lvl 99 to do this game's version of the TFMT
nah, I'm good, standard edition for me
You could have just gone to the official site (The non-American/European one since they're worthless).
https://ryu-ga-gotoku.com/eight/asia_en/#preorder
You'll regret not getting the ultimate edition day 1
scheduled a week off work and pre-ordered day 0
gonna goyslop so hard
>Feeling bad for not consooooming enough
Reddit is the other way, gay
Why would anyone pay more than neccessary for something they have not played yet? If the standard edition is shit, the whole game is shit.
i love yakuza and its copy pasted assets and i am NOT ashamed about it.
Why would anyone be ashamed of playing a great game series?
Also more games should reuse assets so they can bring them out faster.
one thing that i hope to come with ai being prevalent in future AAA game devlopment is that they can just get their samey assets done a LOT quicker and it wouldnt eat up 60% of the dev time
I'm getting it because Gaiden was good and this is the only game I am looking forward to in this god forsaken modern day gaming landscape.
Of course not. The new classes in Y7 were garbage. These will be no different.

i think digital deluxe includes another dungeon i hear. They were referring it as “the big swell”

Yeah I still refuse to put that ugly c**t in my party.

literally ya
No, it'll very likely be DLC trophies just like 7 since it's not packed into the game like the PMP was for western 7.
i will spent 400 hours beating the base game and then decide if i want to buy the DLC to plat
simple as
Yeah, I'll probably do this too. It might even be cheaper this way since the extra DLC and other stuff included in the Deluxe edition will probably be available as separate DLC. (I do not give a flying frick about costumes or minigame cheat characters.)
Single save game dlc btw.
i only pre-ordered base game
no interest in playing newgame+ for a self-admitted 300 hour game
I think this will be the highest rated Yakuza game of all time
this is why piracy needs to exist
good luck with pirating this one like you pirated Gaiden, bro lol
probably not no, and definitely wont be worth the price
Can someone explain the appeal of the series to me?

yes they're not for you
Ok, but what is the appeal? They must have some great quality I haven't seen for people to have played so many for so long.
frick that

10 hour moviegame + 50 hours of entertaining side content, Its fun man…
No
It's kino

its fast and furious but japan, that should tell you enough.
I support Ryu ga Gotoku, I'll gladly give them my hard earned shekels.
Do you think itll run well on an oled deck? How do the other newer like a dragon games run?
>Newer
Looks like it runs pretty well: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4n4l1lUduCA
I know personally Ishin, Judgment 1 +2 run well
Never really tried LaD, but i'm sure it'll run ok and it's turnbased
Just a heads up the framerate shits the bed in the later group coliseum battles.
>No version of Infinite Wealth offers early access
>Won't be able to even install the game until it's out
every fricking time
Xbox lets you.
>spend an extra $30 so you can beat the side content faster and have to grind up to lvl 99 to do this game's version of the TFMT
nah, I'm good, standard edition for me
>locking new game + behind dlc
only in japan is this business model tolerated. thank god I only play western games.
I had to go to Steam discussions to see what the DLC packs contained. I hate this israelite company so much.

It is unacceptable they are pulling this shit again.
just get the standard edition and use creamapi
>creamapi
am I the only one who's paranoid about using this shit on a main account?
No. I am not using that shit on my 750 games, September 12, 2003 main account that is worth 15,000$ and more.
no you should be, bans are absolutely devastating
Just use fitgirl.
>145 Canabucks if you want everything
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH
7 was the most boring game in the series yet. i am fricking not buying this shit at full price.
I just wanna play another kino, can't wait bros
Combats still shit so I’m gonna wait for a major discount
