I don't have some of the issues others do with the story but I do have a real issue with Hanakawa and Ichiban being written as complete fricking morons for the end part of the game >stand there and do nothing while monologue villain monologues, get Hanakawa killed, get Lani kidnapped >stand there and do nothing while you have the 12 year old looking "villain" at gunpoint and he gets away >stand there and do nothing as fake bomb doesn't go off, then stand there while the villain gloats, then stand there as it dispenses gas, then stand there until you breath it in, THEN start moving >stand there and do nothing as a mob breaks down Yamai's door as the villain monologues AGAIN over a Skype call, they all rush inside while he gasps >in the end still go 'ur MUH FREN'
Jesus Fricking Christ I want Bryce to win at this point, and I really really liked Ichi as a character in 7.
Let's just quit Like A Dragon and go full time Judgment at this point.
Yeah, but I thought 5 was a little less moronic. I enjoyed all the stories but Haruka's and even then I liked the gameplay of the minigame and Akiyama.
>Haha Ichiban, I knew you would run from the group of goons into the building next door where they can trap you so I set up all this stuff haha I am very smart
Yakuza has the most frustrating thriller direction humanly possible, I'm always always tearing my hair out over gunpoint talking scenes and stuff like that because it never has the barest competency. Things happen that the player never could have dreamed and things the player is focused on never mean anything
The hallway with the tear gas is so dumb, they literally just came from a door at the bottom of the staircase. Just open it and leave. >no lani we must climb up, instead of opening this door I literally just came through
I always hoped the series would stay too niche to be ruined by normalgays but profitable enough to get made still but now they're putting e-celebs everywhere and the localization has gotten markedly worse since Judgment I guess it doesn't matter
They were testing the waters with making the crabs gay and I fully expect the pozz to work its way through future games even though they can't touch the risque shit.
you know I think they still scale with mon level even on other classes so no.
I have Hero's heal and res on a different class, and it still scales with Ichi's Kindness/Charisma
the worst, worst part. is you cant put sujimancer skills into other jobs. You fricking cant, the point of sujimancer is to have one guy that can do all elemental attacks but thats pointless when they do like NO damage.
Not needed. You have tons of options with inheriting. Ichi with heal and res, I have Adachi and Tomi with the AoE heal DoT from Pyro and the one from Aqua respectively and then there is items.
Best dedicated support would be a woman Geodancer though.
Aquanaut has a very good healing ability with good range.

no male healer holds a candle to geodancer.
Since you guys are talking about jobs
is Linebacker a good option for late game Ichi? his tanking stuff seems strong
It's better than hero but there are two people who use it better imo, Adachi and Kiryu. Kiryu because you can combo Beast Style with its rage moves and the accessory that makes you take no damage, but we're talking about transplanting its moves to DoD class there.
Ichi, for me, should be a hybrid. His stats are strong as frick, so he can be a mage if you want, but why not a Pyro, Aqua, or Desperado. FWIW Aquanaut has an ultimate weapon that's only a little worse than action star = more damage when full hp which is easy as frick on Ichi with regen from Pyro or his hero heal or a Geodancer on the team.
My Aqua Ichi is only a little bit behind the busted Kiryu Action Star. Zhao has a god tier ultimate weapon as his class too, but it's kinda not needed because matching elements is so easy in this game with inheriting.
as a follow up, yes, that means if you give Tomi or Namba the Aquamancer ultimate weapon they will be amazing, too.
In Tomi's case I think Taxi Driver is an amazing class and it has a decent ultimate weapon. He can debuff to make shit weak to electric using ice, and Aquamancer debuffs on hit with its ultimate weapon (skills too) to make things weak to ice.
Just give him some Desperado moves, maybe the fire move from host or chef.
Chef is the class I have the least experience on and I wonder how it stacks up. Maybe I'll work on its 7 star to 50 next.
>Chef is the class I have the least experience on and I wonder how it stacks up. Maybe I'll work on its 7 star to 50 next.
I have Chef at +50, it's alright. The extra cost to spells is 10% but you can mitigate that with a Mouthguard, and the damage amp it has is pretty good. I'd say Action Star and Aquanaut are better for general uptime, but Chef is a nice alternative.
>Tilt-a-whirl Tackle on neutral mobs level 40 as DoD- awakened >850 damage >as Action Star with ultimate weapon only upgraded to 20 and a blunt seal >1300
lol
I don't even know if I could comfortably replay 7 now.
The combat in 8 is so tuned up in comparison. It'd be like trying to play Judgment after Lost Judgment.
>Finally got all the Kiwami Sujimon
Despite being level 60, they're not too difficult to take down. I was level 53 and didn't have much trouble with it.
>6 Antique Coins >Still no Job XP item for Shinobi
I swear the game's rigged at times
She doesn't in 1,2,3 and 4. 6 gets a majority pass since that's where thay've actually aged her up nicely, but those eyes are still absolutely soulless without an ounce of light or life behind them.
Yes. He wakes up, shirtless in 30 degree Okinawan heat. He can hear footsteps thundering down the hallway and lively chatter from the children, and Haruka trying desperately to keep them in line. His watch tells him that it's 11AM and summer, 2011. But after that weird and distressing dream he's more determined than ever to never leave his family or let them be torn apart by anything. Simple as.
I was laying in bed yesterday after having beaten the game and thinking about Y8 and I kind of came to the conclusion that literally every single story beat or concept in this game is bad
I don't think I'm buying another $70 Yakuza game after this one
You sort your DIY menu by Satisfaction/Reputation, only build the highest stat buildings there and then just shit them all over your island for point maximization
Minigame is bad
Jesus Christ, I felt like I had fricked up 90% of the emotional part of the story because I haven't played 3. What the hell is someone who hasn't played ANY of the games supposed to get from Gaiden?
It's marketing, anon. They just want more $$$$$$$ and lying through their teeth about where to begin is one way to put to rest one of the questions most newcomers have.
What’s with their main money making mini games going to shit?
Like business management was fun at first, but it quickly turns into a payout shortly after with the RPS minigame being a non-issue
Why is there so little electro moves in the game? Everyone has access to fire and ice but the only electro moves I can think of is Seonhes essence and Tomi's battery
Ok, so, Akiyama travels to Hawaii to open up a new branch of Sky Finance while Shinada is also visiting as a coach for an international baseball festival…
I’m playing through 7 right now and it’s the complete opposite
I am struggling to do any side content
From chapter 6 the story completely sucked me in, I am now in chapter 13 and have only done 20 or so substories, I did complete management though
Not that the side content is bad, it’s great, bu the story shit is even greater
Man, I'm sorry. I'm down with all the story beats but that little fricking homosexual Eiji pulling the wool over Saejima and Majima (Daigo I can believe) and them just being like 'Damn, okay' is infuriating.
I'm not sure why they wanted us to see all 4 of the legends beat down as frick
yep so much fricked up shit with the story, even the dubbing, like Bryce, you play the game in Japanese and you end up listening to ENGRISH as frick while the character is a pale white dude over 90.
Why did they try to do the ending of 7 again with this butthole? It made sense with Masato, since him and Ichi had an actual connection. Everything this homosexual did was an attempt to torture Ichi.
The ending scene of Ichiban saying he's still his friend would've been a bit less weird if Eiji started out as a proper friend but only became "evil" over time. Like, there should be a small period when they were genuinely friends at the beginning.
I thought he was a new type of party member when he was SUPPORT in like one single fight. Would have been cool to get a secondary cast of non-controllable members of the party. This would have allowed him to be in some of the like pre-District 5 story beats atleast
I want to see a Daigo spinoff where he personally leads the Tojo to defeat seperatist abd doubting splinters and beats them into the ground himself while telling Kiryu to stay the frick out of it and be with his family instead. But RGG is incapable of doing the characters justice, so we'll never see anything like the early games again. Not for Kiryu, not for Ichiban, not for whomever they decide takes the mantle of the series after he's gone, either. I hate it so fricking much that if I ever see Yokoyama in real life, I'll pour a tonne of chilli powder into his arsehole then sew it shut to communicate how fed up I am with his nonsense.
A Yakuza title set in the '60s or '70s with someone like Hitoshi Ozawa as the lead would be worth cumming over. Instead of being limited to Kiryu's moral compass, you could have a real footman claw his way up the ranks of the clan by any means necessary to complete his goal. You could actually have competition in the form of other clans, assuming that the Tojo isn't the undisputed top dog yet.
I have this sickening feeling that instead of seeing this shithead thrown off the Millennium Tower Ichiban is going to go power of friendship on him and I'm fricking furious just thinking about
so i guess the daidoji llet kiryu get his life back because he wasn't going to be useful for much longer with his cancer anyway but somehow they'll probably be the main antagonist of yakuza 9 ?
the whole fricking point was for him to shut the frick up about the faction and what he learned in 6.
If he had just taken the briefcase of money in 6, none of this would've happened because remember HE made the offer to THEM.
All they wanted was to pay him off for his silence because he was too dangerous to try to kill. But Kiryu, being a moron, was like "ooooh the kids are better off without me boo hoo let me make a moronic deal".
Imagine a world where he takes the money, goes back to the orphanage, now funded for his life time, and lives with his kids, protected by the strongest possible bodyguard.
or if he's so afraid of people coming after him, tell the Daidoji 'lack a dash dash, thanks for the cash you'll never see me again like you want', and he fricks off with his millions to build an orphanage in some far off country under a new name, because foreign people don't give two shits about the yakuza.
I mean Kiryu is strong but he couldn't protect everyone if other homies wanted to kill some of his kids as a way to get to him
In IW he says there was probably another way but he couldn't think of anything else on the moment, so yeah that's a little moronic but it still makes some sense
Now the yakuza don't really exist anymore, the world has changed a lot, the threat is not as big as it could have been a few years ago so now he can be a cancercuck, get his life back and live happily with Haruka-chan
>Expected the big swell to be the hardest challenge yet >It's just a hamfisted way to powerlevel your characters and only rewards loot you can get through collected fortunes
Kinda sad tbh. Amon was much more difficult than anything I saw in the big swell.
0, and after that you can get on the Kiwami 1 then 2 train and maybe they do Kiwami 3.
If you want a break from Yakuza and Kiryu, go play Judgement. I think it nails the storytelling and conspiracy parts better, even if its still the same stupid reasoning that is enjoyable in its own right.
Firstly, don't burn yourself out on the games. Play the core of the series chronologically (6 is inconsequential anyways, it feels more like a spinoff). Zero is good if you want to get into the mainline games and don't care about some minor spoilers. Just do be warned that it is literally the best brawler game in feel and function so you might find it harder to go back to the older titles afterwards. I suggest the PS2 games over the remakes because they're overall tighter and much better experiences, but either way you do it, just make sure to play the other at some point to compare (Kiwami 1 is grindier than the original, and Kiwami 2 becomes piss easy within an hour or two). Personally, 3 and 4 are my favourite titles. Both of them are nice and self-contained with memorable characters, setpieces, and events, and are pre total Yokoyama schizo writing spree and are also quite cozy. Take it easy, and just have fun.
yakuza was always woke homosexual. you homosexuals crying about the woke localization in yakuza 8 have never played a yakuza game before.
either that or you missed the part where in every game you manage a thinly veiled prostitution ring and all the good guys are just misunderstood criminals trying to make an honest living in the grey areas of japan
Who cares? Youre like those homosexuals that cried about persona 5 royal being woke when they replaced the ugly gay men that were hitting on ryuji with ugly dragqueens trying to groom ryuji into becoming a drag queen
Can anyone confirm if Yuri, male Japanese VA, is still voiced by a woman in the English VA on release? What were they thinking genderbending random characters?
>because
They had a reason for it. She was getting close to figuring out Kuwana was behind the bully murders which means she might figure out Kusumoto participated in them and that would make Public Security lose leverage over her if Sawa decided to speak about it.
Still annoyed that Yagami's counterarguments against Kuwana were about Sawa. Couldn't he just point out that Kuwana's serial killings aren't doing shit to stop bullying around the schools, and he only operates after the victim dies.
Yeah, I expected him to have literally any argument against the serial killings. But it's all just "one innocent life" like he agrees everyone else deserved it. I had a friend bullied to suicide, so I totally got Kuwana's point, but even I think some of them have redeemed themselves since then. Though I did spend the rest of my high school career never letting them forget what they did. Anytime they started to jab at someone I'd make sure to remind them they clearly don't know when too far is since they've killed someone already.
Just finished Chapter 6 with the shocking BURAISU reveal. The horrible engrish was a terrible, terrible decision. Also the story and pacing is worse than ever. Do they just make this shit up as they go?
Every game going forward will have a section like yakuza 7 where you have to take a taxi from yokohama to Kamurocho then take another taxi to Sotenbori for 1 boss fight
Olivia isn't a female hermit crab, Ichiban even calls it a "He". They called the crab Olivia because of the ship the shell was found on was the Olivia.
Ichiban is a giga autist who spent the prime years of his life in prison and as such has no adult experience with women. So naturally he falls for the first decent looking woman that he gets close to. It's sad but it's realistic.
Why is burning arrow so fricking good for a literal DIP getting it instantly once you select the job? Honestly of all the things in this game that one thing really confuses me. Also why the frick would I ever want to use anything else on Kiryu when his base kit is the coolest and arguably one of the best and most flexible.
>Sees Jack Frost >Instantly thinks of Persona
As if I'd bother playing that soulless fricking remake. Digital Devil Saga was the better ip under Megaten anyway.
>Posts the mascot of persona >HUUUURRRR IM NOT A PERSONAgay IM A DELUSIONAL SMTBlack person
I can assure you the only difference between the two is purely in your mind
They have been using Morgana as the mascot of Persona for years by this point, and sometimes Teddy. Jack Frost is much more all of Megaten. Also I'm an everything gay. Atlus games, older Xeno games, like 1/4th of Square's entire library, any jrpgs.
Is... Chitose to going to become Ichiban's Akiyama-like character in the future games? Instead of lending money, her zaibatsu will help rehabilitate retired yakuza to atone for ruining their lives as a vtuber
Maybe if there's some way to scale it endlessly past the campaign or if the online is actually interesting. Anyway next Yakuza is probably Persona-themed, Like a Dragon upside-down-9 = Persona 6
It's not my favourite 'main sidemode' of the series but I didn't hate it, wouldn't want it again though
On a side note I feel like the stories of the main sidemodes are lacking lately. 5's side stories (apart from Haruka's which is more a compilation of scenarios) have actually enjoyable plots that take themselves somewhat seriously while the ones from 0 onward are mostly excuse plots to beat the bad guys, dondoko especially feels like going through the motions
I don't like the substories being Kasuga only again either
In 7 it works since it helps people get to know him but this game really should've had the other party members join in
The party chats are cool but they're pretty easy to miss in comparison to substories
>wanted to like Dondoko Island from the trailers >finally get there >realize you can’t actually make a beautiful tropical paradise >only way to get a 5-star resort is to turn it into an industrial wasteland full of gigantic dirty looking buildings and strip clubs >begrudgingly finish it for the trophy and to rack up money and then never touch it again
Felt like a missed opportunity or something
This. I honestly would have preferred if the build mode was more on rails. Making an absolute mess is optimal for points but makes your island end up looking like shit.
>Realize that Dondoko is not a good way to get money once you reach the mid to late game >Getting more money from just fighting dudes in the dungeons >Think I might as well just make my island look nice if it makes too little money >Ichiban bleeds when he shits
that Dondoko is not a good way to get money once you reach the mid to late game
This one actually hurt after spending like 15 hours thinking the island was going to be the moneymaker
that Dondoko is not a good way to get money once you reach the mid to late game
This one actually hurt after spending like 15 hours thinking the island was going to be the moneymaker
the fricking dondoko beam doesnt even make it through base story which is incredibly sad considering its mp cost
So what's the deal with crafting in this game? All the really good weapons require some other lower-tier weapon as a base but as far as I can tell you can't craft them -- so are you just supposed to hope you get lucky and find one out in the world? Kinda gay if so
You're supposed to find them from crowned enemies which encourages you to fight the minibosses in the overworld as you explore. If you are crafting high tier stuff at all you would ideally be someone going for 100% anyway.
Interesting. I feel like I've beaten all the crowned enemies and have pretty much nothing to show for it. The safes are always just filled with worthless shit.
Im at chapter 11 and have decided I need to just grind levels for awhile. What jobs and abilities should I be prioritizing for late game since I also want to go ng+
People have been saying Desperado, Samurai, and Kunoichi are worth investing heavily into, Linebacker is worth it for the self-heal + def buff (and Adachi is best in it because he has garbage AGI anyway so he can just rage everyone and tank it), Barmaid has a great 7* weapon to keep Saeko into, and that's all I've seen people discussing here because I sort of tune out to keep it somewhat of a surprise. I know some of the returning stuff is worse like Idol because of Geomancer and Breaker, while Chef got better.
Jobs are now more about what 7* passive is better paired with stat spread from said job since you can just take the important stuff out of it. Get Freelancer and Hero to at least 30 before you touch NG+ and maybe Detective as well.
No, the last patch we got was a few days ago. Someone made a mod right after the patch that fixed it so PC is the only way to get the fix currently but they're aware of it according to someone here yesterday since people were messaging them about it.
Maybe it falls off late game but right now I love Conversion Attempt on Linebacker because it’s great for throwing some damage around when enemies are too spread out to get decent AoE damage. Sure it’s random targets but the damage is pretty good and softens up the group
People were saying the damage is pretty awful on it which is why you share the heal + buff skill off of it. Adachi is more of an exception because like 7 he's bench fodder, but at least here he's not dying in 2 hits like everyone else so he can actually tank stuff on harder difficulties.
ok bro but think about it, >Like a Dragon upright-7 >Like a Dragon sideways-8
Naturally next game will be Like a Dragon upsidedown-9. Which other big Sega franchise is due for an upsidedown-9 entry? dats right it's Virtual Fighter time.
>Played 0, loved it. >Went to LAD, incredible >Went to kiwami, thought it was mediocre >Kiwami 2, atrocious >Watched a friend play remastered trilogy >3 definitely had some flaws outside of tech limitation but I enjoyed it >4 was fricking awful >Couldn't care about 5 >Said frick it I'm almost done I'll play 6 >Ofcourse 6 was terrible too >Went to Judgment and liked it enough, not as good as 0 or LAD >Tried LJ and it was shit >Gaiden comes out, try it, fricking love it. Hyped for Infinite Wealth now >Played IW for 4 hours and I couldn't stand it, looked up the story and it seemed like garbage.
Wrong, Cheetos has better stats
Cheetos has a better end game armor
Girl classes suck DICK so you only need one (if you're not going to run 4 dudes anyways) to be a Geodancer
Geodancer + buff generating ultimate weapon + MP healing when buffed + Cheetos armor = spam strongest most expensive buffs and spells forever for free
if by top tier you mean
-under every single male DPS class
-still outdamaged by hybrids like Pyro, Aqua, and Desperado (Aqua having the maybe second best ultimate weapon behind Action Star),
-has a very mediocre ultimate weapon
then yeah sure it's top tier
not that it matters because you can use anything and anyone and beat everything but objectively what's best is best
the single target assassin essence outdamages anyone but action star due to crit rate

Aquamancer gets the same damage buff action star does but at full HP, which is trivial to maintain. It does comparable damage to Action Star with blunt seals so that right there is not true.

just put it on a different job if that's true. You can move so many skills and no class has so many skills that are good that you can't move them all
so basically the only things that matter are: a character's unique armor and the class ultimate weapon

and I maintain that Cheeto's armor makes her the best female but no reason you can't take both of them

and for the record, strictly power level. Seonhee is clearly best girl character wise.
I can't believe Hanawa really went out like that. It was so anticlimactic that I thought it was a red herring and it was going to be some Daidoji body double nonsense. Gaiden really made him out to be more important than he really was.
>tfw Hanawa let the extremely suspicious Eiji into the safehouse knowing he would get shot so he could falsify his death and escape the Daidoji and live his dream of running a peaceful bar >I dreamt of the day we could meet like this, not as handler and agent, but as simple men... or even friends.... Kiryu-san.
No spoilers please but I'm in chapter 8. Should I take the cab to do everything in Kamurocho (table talk, party chats, remembring) before it switches back over to Itchy or will the story take me to Kamurocho anyway?
>Linebacker >Ultimate weapon damages people when you perfect guard >talisman that makes perfect guards do 0 damage to you >+ rage chance seal >+ status effects seal >party now is immortal
now THIS is podracing
>Already beat all level 60 legendary sujimons with party members at lv 27~30 using poundmates + rockets/basketball/flashbang
I'm having fun with the game so far but man like a lot of people have said this game is way too easy.
You can break the game way too early. They should have restricted shops/areas and events like dungeon/poundmates for later chapters.
for the guy who did the math. >rank 13 sujimancer, level 27
We already know your damage is significantly lower with a weaponless job so even if he was 99 it would still be worse than a 99 job with a weapon since it's legitimately like half your damage out put.
the best move is the punch that debuffs armor or attack, so ALWAYS take that
I also take the heal and the res
Everything else about hero is bad. Bad Kiwami moves, bad AoE (laser is better), meh single target.
I always take the auto-revive skill. It's your last line of defense, though you probably won't need it and it's the reason I never even considered switching Ichi off Hero in 7.
>the infinite wealth wasn't human trafficking and blood/organ harvesting with a charity cult >there was no climatic fight near an active volcano pocket being used to dispose of things
This game feels like it's missing a bunch of scenes that were supposed to be there. >Eiji backstory barely glossed over so fast that I was later questioning what his motivation even was Did he just have a reckless driving charge that cost him his job, or did the Arakawa family actually make him hit and kill someone? >In his last Hawaii scene Eiji looks like his normal self, getting into a car with Lani, then the very next time we see him is hours later and he's somewhere in Japan looking like a hobo with his stubble all grown out?? >noticable lack of introspective scenes for Ichiban after the prologue, making his endgame behavior in particular seem more foolish and whimsical than it was in 7-- and even more so because: >not a single scene of Ichiban and Eiji together where you can be half certain that Eiji was displaying his true self, rather than just admittedly "lying" to Ichiban >no late-game scene to even pretend that Akane was of any relevance to this story or the series as a whole, at all. Akane says virtually nothing, and not directly to Ichiban, after the mid-game beach scene. >the game neglected to ever make Lani anything more than a plot device, just an "innocent little girl" who barely speaks a word for the whole game and doesn't foster the same empathy as her parallel, Haruka >Ichiban is never made to acknowledge any of the new details about how Arakawa actually wasn't half as saintly as Ichiban remembers him >nothing in 7 suggested that Kiryu did or would develop friendships with Ichiban's crew, so it's weird that anyone but Nanba or Seonhee is close to him in 8
Honestly, if this game hadn't done the dual protagonist thing and given half the plot to Kiryu, I think it could have been developed into a way more serviceable story. It has the building blocks of a cohesive (if series-typical ridiculous) story, but none of the connective tissue.
The best job for every party member is their regular job. Hero, Heiress, Cabbie, Dragon of Dojima, etc. No reason to ever change it, especially because any job change would be non-canon
I haven't tested Night Queen, I should get to it but I was working on Chef. Like Anon said in an earlier thread, it's weapon is not as good as Action Star or Aquanaut but if you want a nuker damage guy in your party for magic, it will do the job better than Homeless or Host.
why'd they turn him from just some schizo sounding comic villain with mysterious motives into whatever this piece of shit is? it really doesn't work fleshing his character out at all.
he was a fake glowie who infiltrated for the sake of Burakku Mondei and wanted to force the military base land deal for the super weapons that didn't actually exist and he probably should have known about their lack of existence if he had actually infiltrated the CIA
I still don't get why he's suddenly some sort of "Man of the people" who has all these underground connections but doesn't abuse them anymore. Dude was the head of a crime syndicate intentionally killing and threatening people just to make more money. He was literally doing everything in 3 for money and seemingly enjoying it from what we understand. He didn't even care he was displacing Kiryu's orphanage or if Daigo got killed. He's still invested in breaking the law and doing business with people who do, so I don't get why they make him friends with so many people and this kind older man now. Did the bullets just rewire his brain chemistry or something? Did surfing Mine down Tokyo Hospital completely mess up his brain?
It's not even the same character anymore. Even RGGO's substory take on him was was more in line with what 3 presented with him being a serious guy who had some time to kill so he wandered around Kamurocho running into racists until trying to go and kill Kiryu in the alley.
>see Seonhee >had to double check because I swear it was Seong-Hui in Y7
I’m not super familiar with Korean but is Seonhee a more accurate spelling or something?
https://arch.b4k.co/v/search/filename/wannabejanny/
What's it feel like having schizophrenia?
No wonder you're enjoy this slop since you shilled for Cyberpunk and have been going at it spamming attention prostitute troll posts since the starts of 2023 with "seethe janny" to everything else you can find.
This is your newly found fanbase for these games now by the way, guys. So have fun with morons like these continuing to shit up your threads since you allowed them here.
wanna be janny called every single time, no wonder he's mad
HAHA they don't even want you to do it for FREE LOL >46 posts over 2 years >not the same image >not the same posters even
no wonder; your work (free, unpaid) is SHIT
hey so wannabe/wanna-be is a pretty common term, Mr. Wannabe Janny. All those people aren't your boogeyman although that wojak is probably the only one I've ever found funny. I'll make sure to post it now that I know it sets you off.
Better luck on next year's application. Imagine being a ronin janny fricking lol
Gotta say that I like these characters in 8 but the plot fricking sucks. Hawaii also sucks about as much as Yokohama does. Why make the map bigger if you have to add fast travel mechanics to fix your shitty area design?
Fast travel isn't new and there's absolutely nothing wrong with it. Kamurocho is way too fricking small, Hawaii feels fine. It's supposed to feel like a CITY.
I like the game and I like the way 7 and 8's plots unfold from the same incident(reminds me of how connected Ace Attorney Investigations is to Ace Attorney 1), but it bugs me that Arakawa has become this origin point of two different conspiracies when he was just a third tier patriarch. Are the Arakawas gonna be the Skywalkers of LaD from now on?
The US doesn't care if Hawaii becomes a dump that pollutes the ocean. It would probably be a win for the US government if the radiation killed off all the homeless people there.
I hope you're looking forward to Ichiban's bestest bro party member in Like A Dragon 9! He'll be injured in prison and legitimately crippled next time you see him!
Kiryu directly states that Taiga had the hungry eyes of a man who has not been around a woman at all for years and years in that instant. Regardless of the way Taiga actually felt like if he had an urge or if he was just thinking about his sister, Kiryu said this and didn't use it as a reason to thrash Taiga for even thinking about it.
why do morons keep bringing this up
hamazaki didn't put a child in a wheelchair with a bomb and push them down a flight of stairs
hamazaki acted out of anger as kiryu fricked his world up - ei-chan is just evil for the sake of it
Ei-chan's laughably evil but he also had his world fricked over by the Arakawa family. The game just does a piss poor job at revealing and expanding on his back story. Either way, it's pure moronation to think it isn't also moronic with Hamazaki and Kiryu accepting him regardless isn't also stupid. Haruka hated his guts for a reason and called Kiryu out for it constantly.
it's not stupid
kiryu doesn't care if someone harms him as long as they don't harm people he cares for which is what ei-chan did to itchybum
kiryu would not have forgiven him for the shit he pulled and the reason haruka hates hamazaki is because he harmed someone she loved which is it was harauka he harmed kiryu would probably fricking kill him
Mine literally bulldozed his home, got one of his buddies sent to the hospital, is indirectly responsible for the death of his new kyodai and slapped his goddamn daughter.
Kiryu still forgave him.
Shishido, the sadistic cold blooded killer, threatened the orphanage and Kiryu just went "nah, you bluffin'."

kiryu can get away with it since he's an actual MAN that the audience respects as such
ichiban is just a manchild moronic that everyone looks down upon, including the audience so he can't get away with shit like that without continuing to further dig himself into the pathetic sinkhole.
you can do all that forgive and forget shit and whatnot when you're actually strong enough to be respected and feared by those around you since it signifies mercy. you can't do the same while you're still a nobody that is shat on by everyone since you're not doing anything at that point but just treating people on the exact same equal terms with you, which again, means nothing cause YOU are nothing.

Literally everybody gets along with Kasuga, secondary. Nanba picked a fight with the man who fired him specifically to absolve Kasuga of guilt, not to get his job back.

Black person the audience themselves do not like this moron. kiryu stole the entire show both in 7 and now 8 too. fricking homosexual's been cucked out of his own game.

He even took one of his moves as a part of Essence of Rememberance. The other two that got that privilege were Nishiki and Ryuji.

Kazama killed Kiryu's dad. I know it's not the most apt comparison, but there's also Kiryu befriending Wesker who had gotten Kashiwagi "killed".

Kiryu never knew his dad so why would he care? Wesker and Kashawagi being alive if fricking moronic, and shouldn't even be mentioned. The Marvel-tier intro screen, characters just coming back to life, and the endless self-referential bullshit like pocket racer and oni michio never fricking off. This franchise is a parody of it's former self.

It's still canon, so it's worth mentioning. He also continually sucks off Nishiki to this day. >The Marvel-tier intro screen
What? >characters just coming back to life
This has been a consistently recurring thing since at least 4. >and the endless self-referential bullshit like pocket racer and oni michio never fricking off
Constant goofy callbacks have been a thing since 2. >This franchise is a parody of it's former self.
The former self that used rubber bullets, Majima's ex-wife, Kazama's secret CIA twin brother, and a golden castle rising out of another castle?

Of course Kiryu is the biggest offender, because he's the protagonist. You cannot tell me Kashiwagi, Wesker, and Lotus Man coming back to life after being dead for so long is good writing.
God I wish 8 had just shown Eiji's backstory with a montage or something and made it actually worthy of wanting to see yakuza suffer. Tomi's backstory would have been better for Eiji, and Bryce even got a stupid worthless flashback scene that would have been better spent on Eiji.
Eiji could have worked EASILY in this story if he just had a stronger/clearer reason for hating Yakuza and if Ichiban expressed the desire to take responsibility for the wrongdoing of the Arakawa family against Eiji. 8 presented the Eiji and Ebina scenarios as major "Arakawa actually wasn't a perfect guy and Ichiban's Yakuza family actually wasn't all sunshine and roses" then never once makes Ichiban face those facts. There's a perfectly reasonable and obvious explanation for why Ichiban sticks his neck out for Eiji aside from the Masato parallel, and the game just doesn't take it.
that's assault on you
i'm sure kiryu would be way more pissed if he threw a tear has bomb at haruke or killed a few people he knew and ruined your life and your friends' lives using a fricking vtuber
Hamazaki's anger was directed towards Kiryu, which he could understand as Kiryu is used to taking the brunt of people's anger. If he had tried to harm Haruka or anyone around him then the result would be very different. Ichiban forgives Eiji for way too much, and claims they're fricking pals because they had lunch together once.
This is genuinely what Kasuga would do and what he would say. You can't tell me he's ruined for this when he's always been the friendship equivalent of an Irish housewife who'll forgive anybody he formed any kind of bond with no matter how artificial.
It's too much. Ichiban in 7 was at least reasonable. This is just fricking moronic. He knows Eiji can't walk but doesn't call the police to escort him to the station when he knows there's a fricking mob right outside. He even fricking tells him the Yakuza want him dead and just tells him to go to prison. I'M SURE THERE WILL BE NOBODY THERE TO HARM HIM LOL
There whole sequence is moronic. Kiryu fighting Ichiban's half-brother is moronic. Bryce being a boss is moronic.
She rejected him because he didn't account for the fact that Saeko loves her job and didn't want to give it up, not him having Stockholm syndrome for people he met for like a day.
He didn't magically do it, it was just a coincidence to make him seem saintly, just like how Bryce's introduction had the fricking angel wings behind him. The dude's gun failed to fire a couple times before Bryce entered the scene.
Why did you think highly of him after 7? What changed? He was always an Arakawa wienersucker exactly like Ichiban, and Masato's enabler while Masato did nothing but heap abuse on him.
Ichiban doing folk dances comes up a couple times in 8. Rather than disco, there should be a bon odori or other traditional Japanese dancing game. If we can't get another traditional/rural Japanese setting in the mainline series, I'd be fine with getting it in Ichiban's Kenzan/Ishin.
>the Daidoji have exploding cigarettes >monofilament wire that can lfft multiple adults as well as the world's more advanced winch system that fits in a watch >eyes all over the country >yet someone how can't jam a commercial drone from filming their agents
LOL this whole game wouldn't have happened if the Daidoji didn't have the blind spot of 'can be filmed with drones np'
you're the moronic homosexual who spends hours melting down ever people not liking the piece of shit writing in this and your only defenses are always ESL and acting like a toddler then you go back to try and act normal in posts like this as if you wouldn't be immediately locked up in a mental health penitentiary if they show how schizophrenic you are. grow up and learn how to cope with the fact people don't agree with you instead of breaking down crying every time.

oh it's you. Why are you perpetually wrong and getting BTFO in these threads, and then you come back to get BTFO some more and then spam "kys" for 3 hours because you're mad you got BTFO once again.
Why are Tomizawas stats so shit? I tried giving multiple jobs just so he could catch up with everyone else but he still sucks. His base class has a bunch of attack focused abilities but his phys and mag strength are the same and low.
Taxi Driver is one of the best classes in the game though? He can keep up with Action Star in damage provided he hits a weakness (which is easy to do) because of his ultimate weapon.
Kiwami 3 is already soulless and it hasn't even been announced yet...
>kiwami 3 releases
>it's turn-based
How upset would people be?
I would actually play it, but I'm the FOTM Newcomer here to ruin the franchise.
just got to the finale
how much longer is there if i just focus on the story?
A couple of hours.
How long is the game, bro?
I don't have some of the issues others do with the story but I do have a real issue with Hanakawa and Ichiban being written as complete fricking morons for the end part of the game
>stand there and do nothing while monologue villain monologues, get Hanakawa killed, get Lani kidnapped
>stand there and do nothing while you have the 12 year old looking "villain" at gunpoint and he gets away
>stand there and do nothing as fake bomb doesn't go off, then stand there while the villain gloats, then stand there as it dispenses gas, then stand there until you breath it in, THEN start moving
>stand there and do nothing as a mob breaks down Yamai's door as the villain monologues AGAIN over a Skype call, they all rush inside while he gasps
>in the end still go 'ur MUH FREN'
Jesus Fricking Christ I want Bryce to win at this point, and I really really liked Ichi as a character in 7.
Let's just quit Like A Dragon and go full time Judgment at this point.
First time?
Yeah this shit is pretty much Yakuza 5 - 2 in terms of both story and content
Yeah, but I thought 5 was a little less moronic. I enjoyed all the stories but Haruka's and even then I liked the gameplay of the minigame and Akiyama.
I was honestly shocked Bryce never picked up a gun during Chitose's last stream
>Haha Ichiban, I knew you would run from the group of goons into the building next door where they can trap you so I set up all this stuff haha I am very smart
Yakuza has the most frustrating thriller direction humanly possible, I'm always always tearing my hair out over gunpoint talking scenes and stuff like that because it never has the barest competency. Things happen that the player never could have dreamed and things the player is focused on never mean anything
The hallway with the tear gas is so dumb, they literally just came from a door at the bottom of the staircase. Just open it and leave.
>no lani we must climb up, instead of opening this door I literally just came through
Steamy and Lovey-Dovey Kiryu-Haruka Nakadashi SEX!!!

>The two games with the worst stories in the series (the other being 5) are the only ones to score a perfect 40/40
what did they mean by this
Welcome to Yakuza where the content and gameplay is king and the story doesn't matter. Now on to a game called 'words from a hat'.
Huh. I got 'satisfied interference rent shadow neighbour'. I think it's about real estate fraud? No clue.
.
You now remember Mirror Face
You now remember korean body doubles (multiple mirror faces)
So what exactly powers up the Sujimancer job? The levels of your mons? The progress in the sidestory?
the rarity and level
and no matter what you do
it sucks dick
Is it at least worth leveling for the skills?
you know I think they still scale with mon level even on other classes so no.
Empress sisters...
Just buy it off G2A or CDKeys for cheaper anon, In a couple of months it should be dirt cheap there
What male can be a healer? since they removed fortuneteller, i don't want to play Idol
Aquanaut has a very good healing ability with good range.
Not needed. You have tons of options with inheriting. Ichi with heal and res, I have Adachi and Tomi with the AoE heal DoT from Pyro and the one from Aqua respectively and then there is items.
Best dedicated support would be a woman Geodancer though.
no male healer holds a candle to geodancer.
Since you guys are talking about jobs
is Linebacker a good option for late game Ichi? his tanking stuff seems strong
It has decent stats but pretty bad abilities and mediocre attack, no real reason to use it over better jobs
>Max level bond has an extra link
>"Oh, maybe you get increased tag team charge"
>Just a talking cutscene
I suppose I shouldn't have expected as much.
max level bond lets you slot in essence skills from other jobs into things. pretty worthwhile if you ask me.
>Tilt-a-whirl Tackle on neutral mobs level 40 as DoD- awakened
>850 damage
>as Action Star with ultimate weapon only upgraded to 20 and a blunt seal
>1300
lol
yeah Action Star is definitely the highest damage output job
I like Cowboy Ichiban
Desperado is a really good versatile class
I'm gonna wait they fix the stat bug before doing the DLC dungeon
Why? Is it not easy enough for you?
I just want to finish this game already so I can go replay 7 am I the only one?
I don't even know if I could comfortably replay 7 now.
The combat in 8 is so tuned up in comparison. It'd be like trying to play Judgment after Lost Judgment.
>finish a substory
>get an item I already have because I picked it up off the fricking ground earlier
I paid that roomba scientist homosexual $3000 and all I got was a necklace that I had ~5 of already
>Finally got all the Kiwami Sujimon
Despite being level 60, they're not too difficult to take down. I was level 53 and didn't have much trouble with it.
>6 Antique Coins
>Still no Job XP item for Shinobi
I swear the game's rigged at times
So do you think Kiyru got his happy ending?
It's over.
Her design is so bad, child head on adult.
She's always had a creepy doll face that's gotten even worse as the technology's improved. I don't know what the hell the deal is with her design.
She doesn't in 1,2,3 and 4. 6 gets a majority pass since that's where thay've actually aged her up nicely, but those eyes are still absolutely soulless without an ounce of light or life behind them.
Kiryu is a happy cuck
Buy the sequel to find out :^)
Simple as.
I wish I could wake up in 2011. 2001 even better.
I was laying in bed yesterday after having beaten the game and thinking about Y8 and I kind of came to the conclusion that literally every single story beat or concept in this game is bad
I don't think I'm buying another $70 Yakuza game after this one
were you baked?
Is that TV model from PS2 era?
probably, you know how these games are
I stopped paying for these games at full price after 7
Coupled with the egregious DLC practices, it’s just not worth it
At the is point I mainly buy them at release so I can talk about it with my friends in these threads.
It was alarmingly terrible.
I was laying in bed and was thinking about the best way to set up my buildings on Dondoko Island
You sort your DIY menu by Satisfaction/Reputation, only build the highest stat buildings there and then just shit them all over your island for point maximization

Story missions feel like something you force yourself to do once you’ve run out of entertaining side content.
I’m playing through 7 right now and it’s the complete opposite
I am struggling to do any side content
From chapter 6 the story completely sucked me in, I am now in chapter 13 and have only done 20 or so substories, I did complete management though
Not that the side content is bad, it’s great, bu the story shit is even greater
anyone know where 37 in Ijincho and 5 in Kamurocho are? I got the point of no return warning so I would assume I could do them
even though it's the point of no return, you can't do them until the finale
>Get to chapter 13
>Joongi still isn't in my party
Do they really expect me to gear him up, get him jobs, and do his drink links and general social shit in half a chapter?
they expect you not to use him at all because they nerfed him into the ground. Ichiban's party was complete the moment Adachi came to Hawaii
IW has the most fun gameplay but has the blandest story ever.
>Zhao, Nanba, Saeko, and Seonhee are all guarding the meeting area
>Nobody notices some guy casually walk over and record the conversation
What the FRICK.
dont think about the story bruh XD
I know people like to complain about the coin lockers, but that was absolutely nothing compared to the dumb shit in this game.
I was fine with coin lockers, since it at least served a thematic purpose
Mirror face was the real issue
yep so much fricked up shit with the story, even the dubbing, like Bryce, you play the game in Japanese and you end up listening to ENGRISH as frick while the character is a pale white dude over 90.
Engrish Bryce was cringe at first but I ended up finding it hilarious and enjoyable towards the end. I roved every second of his speaking English.
Imagine YAKUZE.
I imagined the shit out of that back when I was playing Y0 blazed outta my mind enjoying it as the world was in pandemic bullshit lockdown.
As much as I love Kiryu, having him return has made me less interested in the future
I have this sickening feeling that instead of seeing this shithead thrown off the Millennium Tower Ichiban is going to go power of friendship on him and I'm fricking furious just thinking about
The boss survives lel
Ebina did nothing wrong. Yakuza is evil and exterminating them is good.
so i guess the daidoji llet kiryu get his life back because he wasn't going to be useful for much longer with his cancer anyway but somehow they'll probably be the main antagonist of yakuza 9 ?
the whole fricking point was for him to shut the frick up about the faction and what he learned in 6.
Now the yakuza don't really exist anymore, the world has changed a lot, the threat is not as big as it could have been a few years ago so now he can be a cancercuck, get his life back and live happily with Haruka-chan
woke trash game btw.
she's not hot enough for my standards. ugly westoid woke shit
yeah i agree it's a woke piece of TRASH
>fat virgin
>standards
ha ha ha

I enjoyed the amon fight, it was the hardest boss for me, typical of amon fights anyway.
Literally the only time in the entire game I had to stop and retool my party.
6 and Gaiden have my favourite ending sequences
7 would be up there, but the forced kume incident ruined it
Okay, I've effectively squeezed infinite wealths wiener for all it's worth and find myself wanting more. Which Yakuza game should I play next?
I've played:
Like a dragon
6
8
What's next?
Play 0
0, and after that you can get on the Kiwami 1 then 2 train and maybe they do Kiwami 3.
If you want a break from Yakuza and Kiryu, go play Judgement. I think it nails the storytelling and conspiracy parts better, even if its still the same stupid reasoning that is enjoyable in its own right.
Okay, so Zero then? Guess I should just buy the Yakuza pack on steam.
get some hooker and weed along with it.
Do these two brands stack?
go test it and enlighten us with your discovery
NTA, but I can hardly tell if the brands do anything
no
Are we going to talk about the fact that Ichiban gets raped in a ally or nah?
We aren't going to talk about the things which can make Saeko sad.
I mean alright... I kind of feel like this is going to affect him for a long time, I mean... that was pretty harsh.
remind me
Alo-Happy Tours guy/girl. Final interaction after doing everything else.
Saeko never cheated on Ichiban.
can rgg just come out and say that yakuza is a multiverse now and that the pre judgement and woke post judgement games are a separate timelines?
yakuza was always woke homosexual. you homosexuals crying about the woke localization in yakuza 8 have never played a yakuza game before.
either that or you missed the part where in every game you manage a thinly veiled prostitution ring and all the good guys are just misunderstood criminals trying to make an honest living in the grey areas of japan
What about that one sub story when you run away from a trans woman
they removed it in the remaster to avoid controversy
Who cares? Youre like those homosexuals that cried about persona 5 royal being woke when they replaced the ugly gay men that were hitting on ryuji with ugly dragqueens trying to groom ryuji into becoming a drag queen
>WHO CARES [PROJECTIONBABBLE]
O_o
Which new karaoke song is the best in your opinion Ganker?
>english dub
frick off moron.
weeeeeee'reeeee breeeeeaaaaaaking the laaaaaaaw
I really like Honolulu City Lights.
not the same without Ichiban yelling like a moron over it
Honolulu City Lights, for sure. It's one of my favorites to come up in the MP3 player and it's great you get it so early.
Can anyone confirm if Yuri, male Japanese VA, is still voiced by a woman in the English VA on release? What were they thinking genderbending random characters?
.
*ruins your story*
LJ plot was great until "lol gonna kill this lady because".
>because
They had a reason for it.
The themes and symbolism are laid on pretty thick so it's more the issue of not going over the plot again to make sense out of it.
How many games are gonna be set in hawaii now that they have a map for it?
Found Judgment at the very least.
I hope he made it
Every game going forward will have a section like yakuza 7 where you have to take a taxi from yokohama to Kamurocho then take another taxi to Sotenbori for 1 boss fight
Sotenbori wasnt in Yakuza 7 though
You didnt play 7.
Do you mean the real Yakuza 7 or gaiden? I didnt play gaiden but i did play 7 and i don't remember going to sorenbori
You go there before Omi hq
Before you fight majima
sotenbori battle arena?
I wish death upon yappi
They'll attempt a spin-off with a ga*jin protag set in Hawaii. That's the final step to pozzing RGG fully. Mark my fricking words.
I hope none because this map fricking blows.
Kamurocho in Judgment is still peak.
So why was Ebina and Eiji two different characters?
I, uhh, beg your pardon?
>Lesbian lobster
Lolcowlizer fanfiction. In the japanese version the hermit crab is called Jamal-kun
For some reason i have the feeling your post is pure fanfiction
Olivia isn't a female hermit crab, Ichiban even calls it a "He". They called the crab Olivia because of the ship the shell was found on was the Olivia.
no ichiban calls it a "she". the substory is even called "coming out of her shell" fffs
I could have sworn he said "He" closer to the start. My bad then.
it's all so tiresome, way to ruin nancy
Wonder if it’s a lesbian in japanese
imagine caring about gay crustaceans
gay is okay but NOT interspecies crustacean copulation
Damn she's such a huge b***h even Kiryu the eternal simp calls her out on it. The fact that Ichiban still wants her is certainly a bizarre decision.
Ichiban is a giga autist who spent the prime years of his life in prison and as such has no adult experience with women. So naturally he falls for the first decent looking woman that he gets close to. It's sad but it's realistic.
>people are getting worked up over the sexuality of a fricking shrimp
Nobody is
why change it then if it doesn't matter? Why not leave it Jamal?
:^)
if only the one I could have loved.. could be the only one that I love..
Cute Saeko
why is there a naked man behind my wife?
adachi-san..
why is adachi so fricking oily in this game
Big lad. Lots of sweat.
*gulp*
Why is burning arrow so fricking good for a literal DIP getting it instantly once you select the job? Honestly of all the things in this game that one thing really confuses me. Also why the frick would I ever want to use anything else on Kiryu when his base kit is the coolest and arguably one of the best and most flexible.
Frick off personagay
>Sees Jack Frost
>Instantly thinks of Persona
As if I'd bother playing that soulless fricking remake. Digital Devil Saga was the better ip under Megaten anyway.
>Posts the mascot of persona
>HUUUURRRR IM NOT A PERSONAgay IM A DELUSIONAL SMTBlack person
I can assure you the only difference between the two is purely in your mind
They have been using Morgana as the mascot of Persona for years by this point, and sometimes Teddy. Jack Frost is much more all of Megaten. Also I'm an everything gay. Atlus games, older Xeno games, like 1/4th of Square's entire library, any jrpgs.
Schizo
DoD falls off in endgame according to people here. Like, 50% less damage than any other job simply because he can't equip a weapon or the seals.
Is... Chitose to going to become Ichiban's Akiyama-like character in the future games? Instead of lending money, her zaibatsu will help rehabilitate retired yakuza to atone for ruining their lives as a vtuber
You guys like Dondoko island? Want this section to remain for the next game?
Frick no
Maybe if there's some way to scale it endlessly past the campaign or if the online is actually interesting.
Yeah, they’ve been rehashing the whole 4 kings thing for a while now
I don't like the substories being Kasuga only again either
In 7 it works since it helps people get to know him but this game really should've had the other party members join in
The party chats are cool but they're pretty easy to miss in comparison to substories
Maybe the party members are part of Kasuga's imagination too......
No, it's one of my least favorite sidemodes in the whole series. Everything feels like a genuine chore, not a fun gameified one.
>wanted to like Dondoko Island from the trailers
>finally get there
>realize you can’t actually make a beautiful tropical paradise
>only way to get a 5-star resort is to turn it into an industrial wasteland full of gigantic dirty looking buildings and strip clubs
>begrudgingly finish it for the trophy and to rack up money and then never touch it again
Felt like a missed opportunity or something
This. I honestly would have preferred if the build mode was more on rails. Making an absolute mess is optimal for points but makes your island end up looking like shit.
>Realize that Dondoko is not a good way to get money once you reach the mid to late game
>Getting more money from just fighting dudes in the dungeons
>Think I might as well just make my island look nice if it makes too little money
>Ichiban bleeds when he shits
that Dondoko is not a good way to get money once you reach the mid to late game
This one actually hurt after spending like 15 hours thinking the island was going to be the moneymaker
I felt the same way. Wish I could've known sooner it wouldn't be worth my time
the fricking dondoko beam doesnt even make it through base story which is incredibly sad considering its mp cost
lol
finally some representation for us..
Get Freelancer and Hero to at least 30 before you touch NG+ and maybe Detective as well.
did they fix the stats not carrying over bug yet?
No, the last patch we got was a few days ago. Someone made a mod right after the patch that fixed it so PC is the only way to get the fix currently but they're aware of it according to someone here yesterday since people were messaging them about it.
Maybe it falls off late game but right now I love Conversion Attempt on Linebacker because it’s great for throwing some damage around when enemies are too spread out to get decent AoE damage. Sure it’s random targets but the damage is pretty good and softens up the group
People were saying the damage is pretty awful on it which is why you share the heal + buff skill off of it. Adachi is more of an exception because like 7 he's bench fodder, but at least here he's not dying in 2 hits like everyone else so he can actually tank stuff on harder difficulties.
can you nerds stop talking about persona..
ok bro but think about it,
>Like a Dragon upright-7
>Like a Dragon sideways-8
Naturally next game will be Like a Dragon upsidedown-9. Which other big Sega franchise is due for an upsidedown-9 entry? dats right it's Virtual Fighter time.
Does Persona 5 have better combat?
I'm sure it has better encounter/boss design at least
They should’ve called Ebina “Niiban”
Made me think for a second, very clever anon
How do I increase the popularity in that island game?
filling out the dokopedia and increasing the rank of those items.
Ads also give 200/500 pop each time i think.
collect fishes bugs ores etc.
Seeing people complain about wokeness reminds me that Ganker and twitter are the same
I came from twitter
Increasing popularity by catchign bugs is so slow
when you reach 2 star, you can increase popularity by entertain tourists
once you got all the guests you can get from advertisement, you can just use advertisements to boost your popularity by like 500 each time
>Played 0, loved it.
>Went to LAD, incredible

you are a zerogay and you are blogging on the wrong website

Same here, I loved 0, it made me want to play the rest of the series
you are a real fan
the only yakuza games worth playing definitely are 0, 7, and 8.
youre not a "fan" lol
That's the conclusion I'm getting to as well. What a weird franchise this is.

Just finished the big swell, I find Kiryu does more damage as action star than DoD because of the nunchuk buffing physical damage.
SORYE GE TON
IGE TON
Yakuza and Judgement games ranked based on how much time I've spent playing them according to Steam
What were you doing in Kiwami 2?
multiple playthroughs, Kiwami 2 is among my favorites in the series
It's not that crazy guys.
How in the frick did you spend that much time with Kiwami 2?
You made this just for the K2 shock value and I respect it
definitely need to take a bit of a break
>have the perfect end game party
>split them up and stuff kiryu with a bunch of useless shits
why?
it's not the game's fault if you're a minmaxing try hard moron
asiatic girl is the best party member
Wrong, Cheetos has better stats
Cheetos has a better end game armor
Girl classes suck DICK so you only need one (if you're not going to run 4 dudes anyways) to be a Geodancer
Geodancer + buff generating ultimate weapon + MP healing when buffed + Cheetos armor = spam strongest most expensive buffs and spells forever for free
no, assassin is a top tier class
if by top tier you mean
-under every single male DPS class
-still outdamaged by hybrids like Pyro, Aqua, and Desperado (Aqua having the maybe second best ultimate weapon behind Action Star),
-has a very mediocre ultimate weapon
then yeah sure it's top tier
not that it matters because you can use anything and anyone and beat everything but objectively what's best is best
the single target assassin essence outdamages anyone but action star due to crit rate
Aquamancer gets the same damage buff action star does but at full HP, which is trivial to maintain. It does comparable damage to Action Star with blunt seals so that right there is not true.
aquamancer is slow so he'll get punched before he goes
or maybe my aquanaut was Adachi that could have something to do with it hehe
it can self buff it's agility like Kunoichi
It should not be slow after turn 1
stats are trivial because you can feed boosters, and no, Ichi or Kiryu using it are still faster than everyone except for the girls using fast classes like Kunoichi or Assassin
or Han
if you "feed boosters" then every class oneshots every encounter lol
there is zero chance in hell it out damages Desperado and I should know; I use her with her +50 weapon along with a +50 Desperado Tomi
cab guy is too good for me to not use, gets bonus damage when exploiting weaknesses and can hit everything.
just put it on a different job if that's true. You can move so many skills and no class has so many skills that are good that you can't move them all
so basically the only things that matter are: a character's unique armor and the class ultimate weapon
still exclusive to seonhee
and I maintain that Cheeto's armor makes her the best female but no reason you can't take both of them
and for the record, strictly power level. Seonhee is clearly best girl character wise.
>meta autism
imagine not just using the exclusive job on everyone
>mega casual
imagine playing an RPG but being too smoothbrained to clearly see synergies and optimal combinations as easily as breathing

>doesn't use it

who gives a frick about optimal in this piss easy game? i want everyone in their default outfits
>i want everyone in their default outfits

Oh shit I'm sorry I told him go men ass eye
>i want everyone in their default outfits
You can literally change the outfits to the default regardless of class though
>calls someone else autistic
>goes autistic about fricking costumes
>could change them anyways if he wasn't moronic
>using transmogs
>doubling down
everyone already knows you're a moron there is no need to keep posting
I can't believe Hanawa really went out like that. It was so anticlimactic that I thought it was a red herring and it was going to be some Daidoji body double nonsense. Gaiden really made him out to be more important than he really was.
Hanawa didn't die and will appear in the Alive Bar in Singapore in Yakuza 10
>tfw Hanawa let the extremely suspicious Eiji into the safehouse knowing he would get shot so he could falsify his death and escape the Daidoji and live his dream of running a peaceful bar
>I dreamt of the day we could meet like this, not as handler and agent, but as simple men... or even friends.... Kiryu-san.
Dragon engine and its consequences have been a disaster for the Yakuza franchise.
No spoilers please but I'm in chapter 8. Should I take the cab to do everything in Kamurocho (table talk, party chats, remembring) before it switches back over to Itchy or will the story take me to Kamurocho anyway?
The new jobs don't feel like they suit at all. Where the frick is my Enforcer?
You go back to Kiryu later, and the game will tell you when the point of no return is.
I put Adachi on the Samurai job with the beach outfit. Big half naked guy with a sword is pretty fun.
Chitose as a maid because it fits her job too.
I did put Adachi as a Lineback with the traditional swimsuit. He looks like a sumo wrestler.
>Linebacker
>Ultimate weapon damages people when you perfect guard
>talisman that makes perfect guards do 0 damage to you
>+ rage chance seal
>+ status effects seal
>party now is immortal

>Already beat all level 60 legendary sujimons with party members at lv 27~30 using poundmates + rockets/basketball/flashbang
I'm having fun with the game so far but man like a lot of people have said this game is way too easy.
You can break the game way too early. They should have restricted shops/areas and events like dungeon/poundmates for later chapters.
yeah but Sujimancer is god awful so it's not like you actually gained anything.
Haven't tried it yet but looking forward to use it for summoning some funny sujimons to take pictures beating boss.
it's so bad I guess it's kind of like the game's hard mode. A minimum of 40% damage behind other jobs according to one anon's tests.
Did the anon tested it at Ichi's max level ? They can't be this bad and stay the same right ? Or are they ?
See
for the guy who did the math.
>rank 13 sujimancer, level 27
We already know your damage is significantly lower with a weaponless job so even if he was 99 it would still be worse than a 99 job with a weapon since it's legitimately like half your damage out put.
Well that sucks. Thanks for the infos.
>using poundmates
That's like making the fight harder. Basketball for 600 damage? Nah, I'll hit them for 150 a turn.
Higher tier poundmates don't cost a turn
People use the poundmates that cost a turn?
I hit them for 150 and then chuck the basketball at them for 600.
what skill do I inherit from hero? just hit 30 on it and am changing jobs for the first time
the best move is the punch that debuffs armor or attack, so ALWAYS take that
I also take the heal and the res
Everything else about hero is bad. Bad Kiwami moves, bad AoE (laser is better), meh single target.
I always take the auto-revive skill. It's your last line of defense, though you probably won't need it and it's the reason I never even considered switching Ichi off Hero in 7.
>Girlboss Seonhee is actually a cute autistic dork
Damn, I didn't think she could get any better
>the infinite wealth wasn't human trafficking and blood/organ harvesting with a charity cult
>there was no climatic fight near an active volcano pocket being used to dispose of things
My disappointment is immeasurable.
This game feels like it's missing a bunch of scenes that were supposed to be there.
>Eiji backstory barely glossed over so fast that I was later questioning what his motivation even was Did he just have a reckless driving charge that cost him his job, or did the Arakawa family actually make him hit and kill someone?
>In his last Hawaii scene Eiji looks like his normal self, getting into a car with Lani, then the very next time we see him is hours later and he's somewhere in Japan looking like a hobo with his stubble all grown out??
>noticable lack of introspective scenes for Ichiban after the prologue, making his endgame behavior in particular seem more foolish and whimsical than it was in 7-- and even more so because:
>not a single scene of Ichiban and Eiji together where you can be half certain that Eiji was displaying his true self, rather than just admittedly "lying" to Ichiban
>no late-game scene to even pretend that Akane was of any relevance to this story or the series as a whole, at all. Akane says virtually nothing, and not directly to Ichiban, after the mid-game beach scene.
>the game neglected to ever make Lani anything more than a plot device, just an "innocent little girl" who barely speaks a word for the whole game and doesn't foster the same empathy as her parallel, Haruka
>Ichiban is never made to acknowledge any of the new details about how Arakawa actually wasn't half as saintly as Ichiban remembers him
>nothing in 7 suggested that Kiryu did or would develop friendships with Ichiban's crew, so it's weird that anyone but Nanba or Seonhee is close to him in 8
Honestly, if this game hadn't done the dual protagonist thing and given half the plot to Kiryu, I think it could have been developed into a way more serviceable story. It has the building blocks of a cohesive (if series-typical ridiculous) story, but none of the connective tissue.
woke trash slop.
The best job for every party member is their regular job. Hero, Heiress, Cabbie, Dragon of Dojima, etc. No reason to ever change it, especially because any job change would be non-canon
none of those is 'canon' anyways since it's all in Ichi's head moronbro.
The only good starters are Cabbie, Assassin, and Gangster
Tennis Star out damages assassin doe
yes and so does night queen, but only Seonhee has access to assassin's sicknasty essence of bone breaking or whatever
I haven't tested Night Queen, I should get to it but I was working on Chef. Like Anon said in an earlier thread, it's weapon is not as good as Action Star or Aquanaut but if you want a nuker damage guy in your party for magic, it will do the job better than Homeless or Host.
>Wear what you like in Premium Adventure!
>Just kidding lol, here is forced default outfits for you to wear.
>Mine died for this
I miss Mine, honestly. If Daigo hadn't gone into his gay coma, the Tojo Clan might not have gone to shit with the two of them working together.
why'd they turn him from just some schizo sounding comic villain with mysterious motives into whatever this piece of shit is? it really doesn't work fleshing his character out at all.
>mysterious motives
He was a glowie, nothing mysterious about his motives when they're just doing what he's told.
he was a fake glowie who infiltrated for the sake of Burakku Mondei and wanted to force the military base land deal for the super weapons that didn't actually exist and he probably should have known about their lack of existence if he had actually infiltrated the CIA
Even RGGO's substory take on him was was more in line with what 3 presented with him being a serious guy who had some time to kill so he wandered around Kamurocho running into racists until trying to go and kill Kiryu in the alley.
never did I think playing 1 that Majimeme would be made into a fricking loser by a fricking vtuber many years later lmao
Hey guy that sperged out and didn't understand that 'story' means that Yokoyama wrote Gaiden, I am still laughing at you.
>see Seonhee
>had to double check because I swear it was Seong-Hui in Y7
I’m not super familiar with Korean but is Seonhee a more accurate spelling or something?
I love Seonhee fangirling about Kiryu, I would never have expected her to be so cute playing 7.
Her getting extremely pissed over a piece of rice stuck to her cheek is a lot cuter than I would have expected. Even Kiryu agrees.

This is your newly found fanbase for these games now by the way, guys. So have fun with morons like these continuing to shit up your threads since you allowed them here.

Gotta say that I like these characters in 8 but the plot fricking sucks. Hawaii also sucks about as much as Yokohama does. Why make the map bigger if you have to add fast travel mechanics to fix your shitty area design?
The plot picks up at like chapter 7 imo.
Plot is pretty decent but falls off near the end. Basically the opposite of 7 where it got way better near the end.
Fast travel isn't new and there's absolutely nothing wrong with it. Kamurocho is way too fricking small, Hawaii feels fine. It's supposed to feel like a CITY.

beat Amon on my first try even though I was almost dead, that was the hardest fight in the game
the other fights are very easy though
I like the game and I like the way 7 and 8's plots unfold from the same incident(reminds me of how connected Ace Attorney Investigations is to Ace Attorney 1), but it bugs me that Arakawa has become this origin point of two different conspiracies when he was just a third tier patriarch. Are the Arakawas gonna be the Skywalkers of LaD from now on?
samegay
speaking of failing to clean it up, Sojimaru's boss theme was pretty good. It sticks out to me along with the Jo Sawashiro fight.
it sticks out to you because you're a homosexual with shit tastes
uh oh pretend janny stinky tantrum!
nah, you're just gay. Sorry about your uncle.
?si=dStvnnxS_YYmfNxA
i wish I didn't two shot it
I only got $630 dollars from a successful tour... What is the point of this island mini-game..
to get the beam move and move on with your life
I sang today is a diamond at a lunar new year party today
The sidestories from Kiryu's chapters are saving this absolute dumpster fire.
Delete Ichiban
>have to keep listening to this vtumor shit
>for another 1 or 2 chapters
kill me
>anti-Yakuza laws
>go on a steam and say "YES I AM YAKUZA AND RUN THE BIGGEST YAKUZA GROUP"
lmao
>also announce on stream you're going to ditch nuclear waste in the US
>the US is just like "sure bro"
what the frick is this shit
The US doesn't care if Hawaii becomes a dump that pollutes the ocean. It would probably be a win for the US government if the radiation killed off all the homeless people there.
Ichiban > Kiryu
FRICK THE DAIDOJI
I hope you're looking forward to Ichiban's bestest bro party member in Like A Dragon 9! He'll be injured in prison and legitimately crippled next time you see him!
I'm sure there's a job for him in Earth Angel once he gets out.
With Ichiban as the new protag the games should be called Like A Dragonfish
It should be called Like a homosexual since you're playing as one the whole time.
aaaand character ruined
Yakuza Jesus.
literal cuck mentality at play here
>i know you fricked my crush bro but you're still my bro ,okay? we cool 🙂
But it was kino when Kiryu did it after Hamazaki damn near killed him
haha like they played that
Eiji was way more of an butthole about it
Taiga nearly assaulted Haruka and Kiryu just saw this as evidence to him being an escaped convict instead of as a reason to smash his face in.
what I thought he was being emotional because haruka reminded him of his sister
Haruka hated his guts for a reason and called Kiryu out for it constantly.
it's not stupid
kiryu doesn't care if someone harms him as long as they don't harm people he cares for which is what ei-chan did to itchybum
kiryu would not have forgiven him for the shit he pulled and the reason haruka hates hamazaki is because he harmed someone she loved which is it was harauka he harmed kiryu would probably fricking kill him
comparing hamazaki to eiji is beyond moronic
>which is it was
which if* it was
Mine literally bulldozed his home, got one of his buddies sent to the hospital, is indirectly responsible for the death of his new kyodai and slapped his goddamn daughter.
Kiryu still forgave him.
Shishido, the sadistic cold blooded killer, threatened the orphanage and Kiryu just went "nah, you bluffin'."
kiryu can get away with it since he's an actual MAN that the audience respects as such
ichiban is just a manchild moronic that everyone looks down upon, including the audience so he can't get away with shit like that without continuing to further dig himself into the pathetic sinkhole.
you can do all that forgive and forget shit and whatnot when you're actually strong enough to be respected and feared by those around you since it signifies mercy. you can't do the same while you're still a nobody that is shat on by everyone since you're not doing anything at that point but just treating people on the exact same equal terms with you, which again, means nothing cause YOU are nothing.
>ichiban is just a manchild moronic that everyone looks down upon
Literally everybody gets along with Kasuga, secondary. Nanba picked a fight with the man who fired him specifically to absolve Kasuga of guilt, not to get his job back.
>uhh u secondary for not liking my shitty schizophrenic moronic manchild who cries on a whim and let's everyone use him like the moron he is
Black person the audience themselves do not like this moron. kiryu stole the entire show both in 7 and now 8 too. fricking homosexual's been cucked out of his own game.
>Mine literally bulldozed his home
to be fair that's on Daigo
And Kiryu still forgave Daigo for that, for 4, and for bumming around with Shinada while hell breaks loose in 5, all the way to considering Daigo his son at the end of 6.
i dunno none of this is as bad as pushing a kid in a wheelchair down the stairs with a live bomb in their lap
the worst part is that sequence was entirely pointless and went nowhere
it was to show how EVIL yet SMART Eiji is so when you find out he shat all over the heroes of the series you would buy into it (lol)
>literally cleared out the entire club
>lets make out escape by running up the stairs towards that bad guys instead of going in the opposite direction
this has been the first time Ive screamed at my monitor over something in yakuza
weren't they trying to go after muh lani
they had her but cheetos ran back up with her instead of going in the OPPOSITE DIRECTION
>Shishido
less of a "sadistic cold blooded killer" than Majima
Caved in that agent's skull at the beginning like an egg. Brutally tortured Hanawa. Meanwhile, Majima is a good boy who never killed anyone.
>Kiryu still forgave him
did he call him his PALworld
He straight up lied to Daigo that he wasn't the traitor because ???
He even took one of his moves as a part of Essence of Rememberance. The other two that got that privilege were Nishiki and Ryuji.
>kiryu doesn't care if someone harms him as long as they don't harm people he cares for which is what ei-chan did to itchybum
This franchise is a parody of it's former self.
how can somebody survive being shot in the head
Weirder shit has happened in real life
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phineas_Gage
Rubber
Bullets
Also that's Chau (Chigau) Ka Long.
>Wesker and Kashawagi being alive if fricking moronic, and shouldn't even be mentioned.
People bring up the golden castle but it’s not a plot point, just a set piece. It’s on the level of the giant shark/squid
>This has been a consistently recurring thing since at least 4
elaborate
>Constant goofy callbacks have been a thing since 2
no as hard as they're doing now with shit like pocket racer and i'm pretty sure you're only mentioning 2 because of daiper man and the tigers
>no as hard as they're doing now with shit like pocket racer and i'm pretty sure you're only mentioning 2 because of daiper man and the tigers
What is goofy about Pocket Circuit?
>grownmanhavingmentalbreakdownovertigergolemgoingofftrack.tiff
A man's innocent passions are nothing to joke about, ESL. You'll understand when you're older.
Samegayging hard.
>tigergolem
>pocket racer
This homosexual hasn't even played the series he sucks off.
>characters just coming back to life
Kiryu himself is and always has been the biggest offender of just coming back to life, don't bullshit me.
>comparing the protagonist to dudes that get gunned down by helicopter miniguns and falling off skyscrpers
>He says when Kiryu still to this day jerks off Ryuji and talks about how he respects him
Hamazaki's anger was directed towards Kiryu, which he could understand as Kiryu is used to taking the brunt of people's anger. If he had tried to harm Haruka or anyone around him then the result would be very different. Ichiban forgives Eiji for way too much, and claims they're fricking pals because they had lunch together once.
Ichiban is the exact same character he was in 7.
nah he's way more moronic in 8
This is genuinely what Kasuga would do and what he would say.
Bryce being a boss is moronic.
there's a reason Saeko rejected this freak
yeah because she's busy dating random dudes and getting her vag fingered by fat businessmen all day long, the bawd
She rejected him because he didn't account for the fact that Saeko loves her job and didn't want to give it up, not him having Stockholm syndrome for people he met for like a day.
The Shadow Realm? No, I'm sending you to Hawaii
>Bryce magically makes a guy's gun jam and explode
>never elaborated on again
what was the point of this shit
>Tachibana uses his magic powers to cause a blackout in Kamurocho
>never elaborated on again
The power of Faith
The Will of Gobbess Palawakiki
So proud of my Children
He didn't magically do it, it was just a coincidence to make him seem saintly, just like how Bryce's introduction had the fricking angel wings behind him. The dude's gun failed to fire a couple times before Bryce entered the scene.
Just have faith, bro.
how I feel after not donating to charity after ordering 30 dollars worth of food at mcdonalds
Easy enough to say he had one of his guys jam the gun in advance and set the whole thing up.
my estimation of sawashiro as a man just fricking plummeted
Why did you think highly of him after 7? What changed? He was always an Arakawa wienersucker exactly like Ichiban, and Masato's enabler while Masato did nothing but heap abuse on him.
what the casual baby murder didn't do it for you
he panics when she mentions the cops and falls on top of her and gets a stiffy, that's it
Yakuza 9 they should reintroduce dancing minigame
This shit in 0 was fricking kino
?si=s3ot7Ofaar0UaXzA&t=20
Ichiban doing folk dances comes up a couple times in 8. Rather than disco, there should be a bon odori or other traditional Japanese dancing game. If we can't get another traditional/rural Japanese setting in the mainline series, I'd be fine with getting it in Ichiban's Kenzan/Ishin.
>the Daidoji have exploding cigarettes
>monofilament wire that can lfft multiple adults as well as the world's more advanced winch system that fits in a watch
>eyes all over the country
>yet someone how can't jam a commercial drone from filming their agents
LOL this whole game wouldn't have happened if the Daidoji didn't have the blind spot of 'can be filmed with drones np'
I just want to know one thing: Am I able to continue and finish side content after completing the main story?
yes
>a blue dragon
>evil magician
Who's gonna be Ichiban's final boss in 9?
Kiryu. Now that he's in a wheelchair and going through chemo, Ichiban has a slight chance of victory if he gets the whole party together
Why would he ever fight his hero though?
>finally reach 4 star resort
>see the requirements for 5 stars
Send help
God helps those who help themselves
for me it was
>reach 4 star resort
>see the requirements for 5 stars
>all i had to do was fight the creampie pirates and got 5 stars instantly
heh guess im just a gamer
Kaito Files was the best story they've written in years.
>um but le judgment
no way gay
enjoy your Dr. Evil island base, magic powers, and Vtubers lol
and it was still better than Lost Shartment
>Lost Shartment
oh sorry, I didn't realize I was talking to a literal child. I'm not interested in arguing with babies, sorry. My mistake.
i accept your concession
I have never seen someone say this who wasn't a complete moron who is mad as frick
what do popcorn and sodas have to do with anything
So true! best villain as well
as much as I love kaito, kaito file is just painfully mediocre..
>as much as I love kaito, the thing that finally fleshes him out isn't good; I preferred when he was a one note one joke sidekick
:^)
nobita-kun final boss
best fight in a long time you mean? Yeah.
Nah main game bosses were better
yong out!
out COLD more like
>That body
>That face
How
he did some pushups
>actually gets the girl at the end and lives happy ever after
Kaito is the luckiest protag in the series so far
>cuck raising someone else kid
lol
but thats literally fricking Kiryu
And he gets made fun of it all the time
I don't play with dubs so I didn't know they he technically beats the shit out of Yong Yea, too. So that's also cool.
i dont buy dlc though
>finally hit level 30 job
>change chitose to geodancer
>give her bikini outfit
FUG
we had some good threads lads but the ESLs who haven't played the game are back to shit things up for the next 8 hours
0secondaries sucking off Kiryu more than RGG does is hilarious.
you're the moronic homosexual who spends hours melting down ever people not liking the piece of shit writing in this and your only defenses are always ESL and acting like a toddler then you go back to try and act normal in posts like this as if you wouldn't be immediately locked up in a mental health penitentiary if they show how schizophrenic you are. grow up and learn how to cope with the fact people don't agree with you instead of breaking down crying every time.
cool wall of text but I'm not reading it
lol
you can't since you're moronic and two lines of text look like walls of text to you
didn't read this either, I'm sure it was ESL screeching LOL
>everyone who isn't an ESL moron ignored this because it wasn't about them
>one guy flipped the frick out because he knew it was 100% about him
LOL
new bread doko?
go the frick to /vg/ you moron
can you guide me there?
no, we already established he failed his janny application several times. He doesn't know how to cross board link.
I went to /vg/ and they had a giant diamond statue of Asmongold there
vg is filled with discord users and e-celeb worshipers
And? Sounds about right for this entire series.
You're literally playing a game that has e-celebs in it.
where are the e-celebs?
Asakura and Kson.
dont know who the first one is but the other one is is just part of fodder quests with shit rewards
asakura is a MMA fighter
Asakura is only an e-celeb in the game. He's an MMA fighter IRL, fought Mayweather in boxing and if you aren't a newbie you'll know they use IRL people all the time as well as RL brands. Remember RIZAP, dipshit?
remember to blow your brains out, okay?
oh it's you. Why are you perpetually wrong and getting BTFO in these threads, and then you come back to get BTFO some more and then spam "kys" for 3 hours because you're mad you got BTFO once again.
BRING BACK RIZAP
Kiryu is gonna need it after chemo.
>give Ichiban a secret half-brother as you do
>one loves their old man and one hates him
>doesn't even end up fighting him even once
yeah the frick was the point
Sorry, had to have Kiryu bawl on him begging him for forgiveness instead.
