>yakuza jrpg meme spinoff is more of a JRPG than the latest FF entry >the very first final fantasy on the NES is more of a JRPG than the latest FF entry
What do you mean? Don’t let the beat ‘em up combat distract you, they’re structurally just JRPGs
You get experience (money) from enemies that you spend on new moves and upgrades to get stronger, sometimes in the form of straight up stat buffs.
You have a myriad of side quests that can net you either consumables or weapons or just a ton of cash/exp
It’s very clearly structured around old school JRPG progression and reward systems.
XVI by an MMO writer who worked under Matsuno and Matsuno was never able to write a good mainline FF. The quest and even dungeon design is straight out of XIV and the story is cynical GoTslop where the writers give up 2/3 of the way through. This was probably due to their source material being bad and getting even worse near the end.
FF is weeb cringe. It's always been weeb cringe and should remain weeb cringe, instead of this uncanny western weeb cringe amalgamation that makes it somehow even more painful to play. I don't want to see these realistic looking characters with gay pretty boy super saiyan hairdos, donning 27 belts and riding around on giant chickens, either go full realistic or go animu.
>Gameplay is the same shitty jankfest in every title.
Still better than FF taking the opposite approach and constantly trying to reinvent itself leading to massive whiplash going from 12 to 13 to 15. I have not played a FF since 12 that felt like the designers knew what they wanted to do with it.
Elden Ring is just Dark Souls 2, with all it's shitty flaws, slapped on top of a boring, static Open World. And zoomers and Fromdrones gobbled it up like hungry dogs.
And TotK is just a copy pasted BotW now with rvrn more useless paddling, nuts&bolts, more ubi-towers to find and activate, tons of woodland creature droppings to collect and more menu-ing than ever before.
This, It's great if you wanted more BOTW but it feels like a glorified romhack at times and if you did all the content before or at least enough to unlock that hero tunic you'd experienced 70% of what TOTK offers. In that week timespan where there was nothing else big hitting the shelves it was fun to fire up Yuzu and Ryujinx but it's similar enough that any current series that has a new installment is probably way more interesting. That's just my opinion though, I think shit like FF16 or SF6 did way more for their lane than TOTK did for Zelda.
I really love when Fromdrones accuse TotK of being the same game as BotW. Literally zero self-awareness.
All From has been making for over past 13 years was the same fricking game. Seven times. >same assets >same attack animations >same player character skeleton >same enemy skeletons (Erdtree Avatars = Asylum Demons, Gargoyles = Hat Guys from DS3) >same bonfire-style checkpoints in every single fricking game >copypasted assets like burned down huts in ER being from DS3 >same boring EPIC CHOIR soundtrack >same janky outdated quest design >same roll spam boring combat with no significant improvements >same boring enemy boss encounter design with attack memorization >same lazy storytelling where they know they can get away with making shit up on the spot because youtuber shills will piece it together for them
If TotK is a DLC, then all games From made recently are just glorified DeS expansions.
TotK made more fundamental changes to it's gameplay with removal of runes and giving you diffierent abilities than From did any changes in all of their shitty jankfest games combined.
Now cry about it, Black person Fromdrone.

Not even defending from, I'm just calling you a delusional moron and I hope you're just baiting and not actually this stupid.

How is yakuza a jrpg?
The latest ones are, but even the early Yakuza games before we got a big skill tree and styles to upgrade all are structured the same as the newer ones. I'd say the biggest thing against Yakuza is how much god damn padding it has with running around between story missions, plus how many of them feel pointless or could be cut down. Find a payphone, talk to all the locales to find out info etc, all the tailing stuff in Judgement. I like how it has serious stories to tell with weird shit in the main path, and just wacky shit in the side stories, but it can be very hit or miss
Ok so the game's big twist is that both MC and main antagonist got abandoned in a coin locker as a baby in the same night and got switched because of it. MC's Yakuza boss/replacement father figure who got killed a chapter or two ago is the MC's biological father.
Yakuza 7 is as basic as an JRPG can get. literally babies first RPG. even so, that's more then enough to be superior to the cluster frick final fantasy has gotten.
Yakuza like a dragon is dogshit tho. Terrible story with 30-60minute cutscenes and repetitive boring gameplay. Game even demands you grind for money to progress the story.
>Yakuza 6 starts because of Haruka getting knocked up by some kid >ends with a fricking battleship that must remain secret because otherwise they broke their treaty with USA >giant fricking castle in Yakuza 2 >all roads lead to the tower
Yakuza was never actually good, it's all a zoomer meme.
*Millennialshit meme
"X was never actually good" is a zoomer meme
This.
Literal asset flip with the same city in every fricking game and boring janky ass gameplay.
>the same city in every fricking game
I wish it was just that.
>yakuza jrpg meme spinoff is more of a JRPG than the latest FF entry

>Yakuza 7 dicksucking
I love JRPGs, but that game is fricking trash. Everything is a goddamn HP sponge.
>yakuza k drama story and asspulls
>good
kek
probably the only one he played 7troons are beyond moronic
By virtue of not having a bad story.

Yakuza 7 is literally a JRPG with turn based combat and a job system.

yakuza is the same game over and over again, with less content.
Final fantasy has no content and blacks and trannies.
I am really quite fascinated how all the trannies down vote it due to the lack of lgtv (minus the one scene) and Black folk.
>Outside of the good gameplay FFXVI is shit
Didn't realise Skillup was Barry
of the good gameplay
reading is hard
Worthless shit that killed sega.
Like a Dragon is terrible so there's no way that's true.
Black person
Literally there is no point to playing any Yakuza other than 0 and that's mostly for the story. Gameplay is the same shitty jankfest in every title.

How is he wrong?

Dork souls 2 had a lot of BS but it's level design was much better than ER

I really hope you're not just saying this in defense of Zelda because if you are you have zero ground to stand on.

I remember when he told people to stop crying about sword and shield
>p-pokemon was always supposed to be braindead easy!!!!
he was right
Nah, he was wong.
>xenoblade story telling
I played Xenoblade X on emulator and the story was the most boring shit ever.
World and exploration was fantastic tho.
The Coin Locker baby thing was so fricking moronic. Worse than anything in any FF game and thats saying something.
QRD?
Ok so the game's big twist is that both MC and main antagonist got abandoned in a coin locker as a baby in the same night and got switched because of it. MC's Yakuza boss/replacement father figure who got killed a chapter or two ago is the MC's biological father.
It's actually a thing in Japan to be fair. It's not something that they pulled completely out of their ass.
Main hero and main 'villain' are locker babies; both being grabbed by the wrong people.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coin-operated-locker_babies
>american think situation is dumb and the writer pulled it out of their ass
>it's actually inspired by real life events
Many such cases
>The Yakuza, Like a Dragon series
Holy secondary, batman
Yakuza 7 is as basic as an JRPG can get. literally babies first RPG. even so, that's more then enough to be superior to the cluster frick final fantasy has gotten.
>LAD is the best modern JRPG
How can he even say this with Persona 5 and DQXI releasing in the same generation?
>xenoblade chronicles
It takes gargantuan effort for minds not terminally damaged by moeshit tropes to take those games' plots seriously, at least as of XB2.
Less efforts than fantaslop 16
Yakuza like a dragon is dogshit tho. Terrible story with 30-60minute cutscenes and repetitive boring gameplay. Game even demands you grind for money to progress the story.
>yakuza game plays like a yakuza game
shocking
Those Persona clones will never be real Yakuza games
>Yakuza 6 starts because of Haruka getting knocked up by some kid
>ends with a fricking battleship that must remain secret because otherwise they broke their treaty with USA
>giant fricking castle in Yakuza 2

Wow, impressive.
