It would have been way better than Kiryu putting on his yakuza suit again. He's a civilian. Wish they at least gave us the jacket in premium adventure or as DLC.
Maybe it was a temp clothing for a planned collaboration like they did with jackets in 5 and 0 but it didn't went through so they removed it for safety
After playing K2 with the Style Switcher mod, I've come to realize that the physics itself isn't the problem. It's just that the new DoD style just sucks.
>Plot of Y2 is to provoke the two primary Yakuza clans into civil war, eventually merging them together >The Tojo clan has lost all of its officers, the Nishiki family (said to be half the Tojo's strength) is in shambles, and the Majima family has fricked off to prevent the civil war (that happened anyway) >The Omi's chairman is gone and the four captains that were vying for the spot have killed each other or committed suicide by running into Kiryu's fists
What the frick happens in Y3? How are there 7 of these games, this roller coaster of twists where virtually every other named character dies by the end of the game can't possibly be sustainable
There is actually 8 Yakuza games, you forgot Yakuza 0. Also Judgment + Lost Judgment. (in the first Judgment the story centers around yakuza members getting murdered and the mystery surrounding it)
3 is basically a filler arc. Half the game is SoL shit with the orphanage, the other half is the stupidest fricking twist ever until Yakuza 4, which ACTUALLY has the stupidest fricking twist ever
Yakuza 4 wasn't as stupid as people like to claim, and I don't even think rubber bullets is the worst asspull in that game either.
It probably has the most asspulls, but they shouldn't shock you exactly, having played through the previous three games all with asspulls of their own.
>Introduce new families (who were there all this time) out of their ass.
Not really man, did you even play the game?
-Kanda is from Nishiki family, since Shindo was dead and Arase was out of the family, Kanda was the only one with balls and power to be the new patriarch of the family, yet Date explain that if Nishiki were alive Kanda would be nothing in that family.
-Mine, he literally explain that he paid Kanda to join the Tojo, he went from Nishiki Captain to patriarch of his own family thanks to his money.
-Hamazaki, he had a deal with Lau Ka Long, of course it was a secret, to the Tojo he's the man that conquered the former Snake Triad's turf in Yokohama with only 10 guys! of course he was promoted for that feat.
Yakuza is very faithful with Yakuza 2 ending, since those 5 guys (Kashiwagi, Majima, Mine, Hamazaki and Kanda) are the only direct patriarchs after the massacre of Yakuza 2, Yakuza 4 is worse, not less than a year later you see the room full of new patriarchs or guys like Shibata.
Reminds me of 5 where immediately you're introduced to Daigo's advisor that we've never heard of before and is, of course, the villain. They have a yakuza clan of 30,000, they get away with this shit all the time
>Y3
Kiryu starts an orphanage in Okinawa which he happily runs until a big land deal threatens to remove him and his kids, plus somebody who looks like Kazama shows up and tries to off Daigo >Y4
A friendly neighborhood loan shark, Akiyama, offers up a 100million yen loan to a mysterious woman who he later finds is involved with a bunch of prominent yakuza members ending up dead, Majima's blood brother Saejima breaks out of prison to get to the bottom of Majima leaving him high and dry during a hit job that landed him in jail, a police detective, Tanimura, is investigating the murder of a dude outside Akiyama's office, and Kiryu gets involved because of course it's all related to the Tojo and the Tojo can't keep their shit together. >Y5
Kiryu is once again trying to live a quiet life until Daigo finds him and tries to get him to help resolve a deteriorating alliance, Majima's blood brother breaks out of prison again after finding Majima was murdered, Haruka pursues a career as an idol, Akiyama the friendly loan shark is there, and a disgraced baseball player, Shinada, is hired by Daigo to investigate his own banishment from the league. >Y6
Haruka runs off for a while only to show up and get hit by a car and end up in a coma. Also, it turns out she has a kid now so Kiryu is off to find the father while also babysitting. >Y7
New guy Ichiban takes the fall for his patriarch's son and goes to jail, only to get out 10 years later and find his family abandoned him, then when he confronts his patriarch, he gets shot and dumped in a bum city.
I just finished Judgment, and it was kind of weird how the story goes out of its way to give every character a satisfying conclusion, with the exception of Ayabe, who completely disappears from the story after the beginning of his own trial.
To be fair Ayabe was still convicted of other corruption charges I don't think showing him in a prison cell would have fit with the rest of the ending.
Wouldn't that shit get thrown out because the people prosecuting him for it turned out to be convicted criminals? Or am I just being too American and expecting fair trials to exist?
Should I play Yakuza 2 or Kiwami 2? I emulated Yakuza 1 on PCSX2 almost a decade ago and was wanting to get back into the series, I also played 0 somewhat recently. Can also mod Kiwami 2 if I get that since I heard that they took out a bunch of the music or something.
Play Y2 if you played Y1.
If you've played 0 and want some minor fanservice, play K2, but get ready for some of the shittiest combat in the series. It grows on you after the first few hours, but it's like fricking whiplash coming off of any other game besides 6.
>should I be a zoomer homosexual and play the revision story with added bullshit or play the original take?
play in release order, I already told you this in your garbage thread
Instead of being autistic you could've just said "Y2" so figured I'd ask where there are actually, you know, people discussing the series.
>should I be a zoomer homosexual and play the revision story with added bullshit or play the original take?
play in release order, I already told you this in your garbage thread
Play the original, youve already played the original Y1
honestly, I started with 0 and went Kiwami 1, then original 2, then release order after that, though i did go back and play the original Y1.
Kiwami 2 just feels so wrong going from K1 to K2, combat is entirely different.
Looks a bit off but it's better than the redone face he got in the Dragon Engine games. Something about DE Kiryu's face came off as too "soft featured" for my liking (a problem in general for the returning male characters).
It was going to be Yakuza 7 (LaD) unfortunately KH fricked us and he was replaced by that gay Nick Ogata, I really think Akiyama will be a member of Joryu's party.
Lmao what? They barely rework the faces/models in 2-3 games. I would really like to see mesh data between Y3,4 and DS Kiryu because they look identical at a glance.
>Nishiki
Beaten pretty easily, Kiryu is not damaged but clearly exhausted >Ryuji
Is only really a threat to Kiryu after both of them are near death, loses handily twice before. >Mine
Kiryu is visibly tired after this fight and is damaged. A canonical tough fight for Kiryu >Daigo
Easily beats him. Not surprising since he beat him in Yakuza 2 as well. >Aizawa
With a gunshot wound and after fighting an army prior, Kiryu still handily kicks his ass. He also loses to him early in the game, and not long before by Saejima. >Little b***h Iwami
Not even a challenge. Probably canonically the weakest final boss Kiryu fights, his hitman is a bigger threat.
I kind of wanna see another, earlier prequel about those two. Brothers on opposite sides of the law would make a good plot, and we would get to see why Kazama was considered legendary
Man I'm looking forward to playing Ishin, looks great. I've got no idea what to expect, but it kind of makes me think of way of the samurai but with yakuza gameplay and minigames which sounds amazing.
I just want to be able to go back to Okinawa...
Okinawa adventures with Ichiban in Yakuza 8 please...
I love yakuza 3 so much bros...
That'd be cool to have Ichiban somewhere else. I wasn't really a fan of yokohama at all, it felt so lifeless and drab compared to kamurocho.
What's the problem? From what I've heard it's just people thinking that child Haruka working as a "prostitute" wouldn't fly by these days. Just switch her with her older Y6 version then or better yet replace her entirely with a new girl.
I am sympathetic with Sega not even wanting to touch that with a 10 foot pole with how insane people are in the West anymore.
There's a million downsides and no upsides besides 'muh artistic integrity' in a brawler video game
I think that particular topic is one that'd universally cause an issue no matter the time and place, from the 90s all the way until now. Except now the shitstorm would just be wider. Can you imagine FOX NEWS or whatever covering that in the mid 2000s?

Why is the Japanese media ok with it?

When I said time and place, I meant the western cultural sphere. Obviously Japan is because Japan has its own culture and history and that topic is one that is pretty egregious to any culturally christian country like we both probably belong to. Either way, I don't care, I just thought it'd be funny to imagine the american media's take on it in a Jack Thompson mid 2000s sort of way.

Okay, I shall commit the sin of explaining the joke to you: Haruka refers to Kiryu as ojisan, like when you're walking around the city with her and you run too fast, she asks you to go slower etc. When people insult Haruka in these threads by calling her a prostitute or that she is useless, people post images or gifs of Haruka being outraged, yelling "Ojisan!" like she does to Kiryu. Ojisan means uncle, even though he is her foster father, it's an endearing term and she would use it when she disapproves of his actions. Why do you say responding with a Haruka meme is spam, but you don't tell people calling her a prostitute to stop spamming that?

Because she is a prostitute.
Man, I would love to see some beta Yakuza content. In Ryukyu at around the bus stops, you see what was possibly a beta map of said city and it looked a bit bigger with the invisible wall near hostess club leading to a park and also potentially more walkable areas across the river.

why did people hate Y3? I just finished it and it was the best one so far for me.
Funny enough the one I hated the most was 0 and every one seems to put it at the top.
0 story was badly spaced, boring even the rock paper scissor fight was worse than kiwami
A- They are 0 gays and hate 3 despite 0 being heavily influenced by 3.
B- They are 2 gays that thing Ryuji is the best villain in the series.
C- They hate orphans
D- They hate the outdated combat and broken minigames.
Answer A: People that haven't played previous Yakuza games don't know that Kiryu said multiple times he wants to open up his own orphanage after 1,2 (even mentioned few times in sub-stories)
Answer B: Back then, Yakuza 3 western release was panned for massive cut content and unacceptable localization quality, hence the poor opinion which nowadays due to constant parrot chinese whispers turned into "Yakuza 3 as a video game sucks because... well that's just natural knowledge that I heard for years!"
Answer C: XXXXY enthusiast find out they can no longer pres XXXXY without repercussions
>Answer C: XXXXY enthusiast find out they can no longer pres XXXXY without repercussions
Instead you press XXB on repeat. Meanwhile bosses do 10 hit combos on you and you take zero damage from that. It is almost like they knew it was a problem and just compensated by having everyone deal zero damage.
Never encountered this phenomenon because I'm only playing Yakuza games on Hard and Ex-Hard. But I do agree that the damage dealt by enemies is too low ever since Yakuza 6 and up on hardest difficulty however.
As someone who got into the series in 2021, the notion I got was >Y3 has the worst combat but a really good story
Only Yakuza I played on easy mode, and I don't regret it. Pretty good overall.
Playing Y6 and this combat indeed kinda bad, Kiryu's moveset is very barebones and extreme heat becomes the solution to every problem
And the hostesses are somehow the worst they've been in a while
enemy ai makes fights drag on, I enjoyed my time playing 3 but wouldn't want to play it again
everyone agrees on catfight club being bad however
>why did people hate Y3?
A lot of people drank some sort of kool aid that it was the devil of the series due to shitposting. It's also very much on the sillier side of things and has stupid shit like Kazama's CIA twin. Other than that a lot of people came to series with 0 and K1 and expected that sort of quality and got met with the campy feeling of the early PS3 titles which probably made them angry that the series wasn't what they expected. It's also a game that is very rough combat wise, and takes a lot of interacting with certain things to finally get going, and that's something the average player is not willing to do.
*special credit to Mine's 7 hour youtube video essay death speech while Richardson makes noises and to Rikiya's death scene as the most embarrassing scenes in Yakuza though
I honestly prefer Dead Souls to Y3. At least Y3 gameplay doesn't make me want to kill myself, even if the story is the most straightforward one with zero twists. RPCS3 crashes make me do that instead.
I'd say "I wish" but I don't want that at all. I just wish they left him walking off into the sunset in 6, that's all we needed. Now we live in the Kiryu with j-pop hairstyle future and I'm afraid.
As someone who got into the series in 2021, the notion I got was >Y3 has the worst combat but a really good story
Only Yakuza I played on easy mode, and I don't regret it. Pretty good overall.
That intro boss when you go into the yakuza office in Okinawa was truly hellish, Kiryu's toughest battle.
play order: >Yakuza Like a Dragon > Yakuza 0 > Lost Judgment > Yakuza 1 > Yakuza 2 > Yakuza 3 > Judgment > Yakuza Dead Souls > Yakuza 4 > Like a Dragon Ishin > Yakuza 5 > Like a Dragon Gaiden The Man Who Erased His Name > Fist of the North Star Lost Paradise > Yakuza Kiwami > Yakuza Kiwami 2 > Yakuza 6 The Song of Life
That way you have the best story experience.
Ojisan's reliable friend who is helping her out and being an actually nice human to her instead of being part of the horrible idoru industry. Still fricking loved her part though, best part of 5.
I've played almost all the ones on PC so far, only missing Lost Judgment since I'm taking a break while playing One Piece Odyssey before going for it.
The first Judgment was really good so I'm excited for this one too.
Gonna start it properly soon, I got up to the first tailing mission and found that mechanic to be terribly boring, I really hope there isn't a lot of it. Yagami seemed...interesting, I guess. I feel like he might not be as entertaining due to him being essentially a big actor.
I feel like Yagami is a great character, he just gets a lot of flak because he isn't wacky or overly emotional and is much more subdued in his emotion, he's a character with a lot of nuance and you can pick that up if you're clever enough. Also don't get discouraged by the slow start or the tailing missions, yes there's a lot of those but if you actually just roll with them you'll be rewarded with the best written plot in an RGG game. I never understood the hate for Yagami, dude's great.
Thanks anon. Yeah it's not any hate on my end, just a bit of initial skepticism, but I liked what little I saw of him and playing a detective sounds cool. Honestly after Ichiban I wouldn't mind a cooler and more stoic character.
He's not stoic at all, he has a ton of expression, he's mostly wienery and witty and deals with the emotional trauma in his backstory through Judgment, you'll see once the story starts rolling properly around chapter 4/5. Playing as a detective is cool as hell though, and I feel like Judgment really nails that aspect by letting you take cases from people and in substories you demand people pay you, it all makes a lot of sense and it makes you feel more than a bystander like in the other games.
>rushed
Dude you're high on something. LJ is amazing. The story might not be as good but the game is great and they put a lot of effort into the school.
something didn't feel right about the story. Judgment hit all the right notes but LJ was like, what the frick? what is this shit? no cool ass final sequence with the final boss? I mean cmon, really?
>Like a Dragon 8 comes out >Kiryu meets Haruka again >she is now 28 years old >still looks identical to her Y5 and Y6 self >still same clothes too
You know it'll happen.
I totally hate when they do that, nothing wrong with recycling adult models, but hated a lot how the orphans in Yakuza 6 flashbacks (that were probably between 2012 and 2014) look the same in 2016, I wanted to see a giant Taichi.
I just finished Yakuza 4 and I want to take a break from the series for like six months. Can I just jump into (Lost) Judgement or will I miss out on the story?
I always get the main character of Yakuza confused with the main character of Tekken. What's the difference between them? Does he turn into a winged devil?
Honestly they should've left kiryu alone after 2, let him run is orphanage and maybe comeback in like 3 or 4 games. They are so afraid of passing the torch it's ridiculous. Like, how many times have they done the "this time a new MC will toally happen" only for kiryu to be brought back?
They also proved that they can make great games when they stay away from the Yakuza formula with both Judgments. Not sure why they insist on beating a dead horse.
>Like, how many times have they done the "this time a new MC will toally happen"
Once? Unless you're counting 4 and 5 but I'm not sure I would. Ichiban was a pretty obvious passing of the torch but admittedly they do seem to be being little b***hes and not letting Kiryu go, I have a sinking feeling they're going to slaughter any goodwill with 8.
I'm in Chapter 12 of Yakuza 6
I fricking knew Takeshi Kitano wasn't going to be some happy go lucky dude taking care of babies. Somehow the plot hasn't driven me off, I actually think it's a better rendition of Y3 even if I'm not exactly looking forward who is shaping up to be the final boss.
I recognized Korean Vergil's VA, I'm actually impressed if he learned a smidgen of korean for his role because his pronunciation was pretty good.
Lo was surprising a pretty okay guy too
every time I play Yakoozers I kinda wish I was in Japan so I could eat that good food
but then I just got a carne asada burrito with curly fries and kielbasa in it and I realize I am more lucky than them
I like Kiryu better, but Akiyama's not a Mary Sue. You can't forget the humiliation he got from Kiryu in 2 games. You can't call him a Mary Sue after that. And before you say "Kiryu beats everyone's ass anyways," it holds more weight when you're a playable protagonist.
How is LAD controversial lmao
it set records and brought a ton of people into the fan base.
I think the series is in a good place right now. Popular enough where we get fast ports and shit, but not so popular it gets NORMALgayGED
Fair prior to its release, but I am pretty sure that image is from some homosexual Youtuber thumbnail because I've seen it before due to clicking endless Yakuza OST videos

It’s still niche, but it’s much more popular here than prior, to the point where they’re now actively pandering to people who started with 0 and 7

whenever some LARPing moron does this, ask them which one in particular they're butthurt over being replaced. They never answer because two of them were original characters, and nobody gives a frick about Kugihara, Baba, or Aoyama. Replacing Ogita with Koshimizu from 6 is legit, too.

that's just me, though.
>series that was a brawler since the beginning suddenly goes through a genre shift
How is that not controversial?
People still b***h about it, and it didn’t help the series sales at all in their home region (they even brought kiryu back so soon because of how little confidence they have in their new protagonist while giving him a gaiden game and ishin remake)
>How is LAD controversial
Did you miss the fact that it completely changed the mainline's genre because the devs misunderstood people were excited about the April Fools content because they thought it would be the next game's Clan Creator/Battle Dungeon-esque minigame? It was and still is the biggest issue people have with 7 existing, and it's even stupider because they had Judgment which literally had Yagami being a random civvy teaming up with his friends fighting lower stakes battles that would have made perfect sense without upheaving everything the series is known for.
Now the spinoff is the mainline gameplay and the mainline is the spinoff gameplay and it's super weird. It's like if Halo Wars gameplay became the mainline Halo gameplay and Halo Wars games became the only way to play the FPS side of Halo. Or if Dead Souls gameplay became the primary focus of 7 and 8.
7 genuinely isn't that bad. If you're okay with or like jrpgs, it's a fun game. Unless you're really autistic and nitpicky, it's not an issue. Just use Cheat Engine if you don't want to do any grinding. I didn't but it's an option.

I'd say I'm a fan of the series. I love action games a lot more than I do jrpgs but at the same time, one of my favorite games is a ps1 jrpg. It really depends on what you can handle. I found LAD to be way better than I anticipated and I really liked it overall.
I fricking despise it, and yet your character building depends on it. You wouldn't believe how stripped for money you are in this game if you don't do that shit. I literally cannot afford weapons and have to base my party around whatever weapons I happened to find in a chest somewhere. They better cut that shit out in the next game.
Didn't bother me. I don't know what else to tell you.
As a JRPG they had the general idea of what a JRPG is but had no idea how to balance it.
On Normal (Your first playthrough) you can just mash attack while occasionally healing with party healing items and get by pretty easily so if you don't mind something like that it's fine. It actually lets you dick around with all jobs and pretty much any combination is viable even on the FMT (Postgame dungeon). There's minor difficulty humps in chapters 6 and 11 when they change up enemies in the overworld but they're fairly easily powered through, and there's a diminishing returns system to stop you from overleveling and trying new jobs each chapter so if you don't level up like every four battles you've hit it.
On Legend (Your NG+ playthrough or TFMT attempts) the issues with the gameplay really start showing. >Apparently there is a grind near the end?
Yes but no. In chapter 12 there will be a boss fight that feels seemingly impossible if you just do the main story. During that chapter you're taken to a optional dungeon that the game tells you is optional at least twice while inside of it but they intend for you to clear it fully within that chapter before moving on as it gears you up and levels you a lot. People consider this "grinding" when it's like a two hour detour that they decided to call optional. If they didn't call it optional I don't think people would complain as much.

OK it doesn't sound too bad then. I do a lot of side content too so that isn't an issue.
I am playing LJ right now and i was just confronting Sawa at the start of chapter 6 and i've got to ask something because i feel like Yagami is just braindead right now. He saw that there are 2 fricking picture on her desk, one being of the victim and the other being with the group from fricking highschool. She lies to his face that she doesn't know of any connection between her and the other 2 but she has a picture with some people from that highschool right on her desk that we know about. WHY THE FRICK DOES HE NOT ADDRESS THAT? Are they pushing this character further and further away until the make her silent by killing her? If they are seriously doing this everybody involved can go suck a wiener. This is fricking moronic. Yagami is shown to not back down from even detaining people who have even a shred of culpability. He wouldn't leave Sawa leave the room if she wasn't a woman

>Seconds after Majima left, three Omi Alliance men (Kojiro Nagaoka, Joji Samejima, and Jotaro Hamamoto) arrived, and they proceeded to shoot Sagawa dead from behind as punishment for his failure to obtain the Empty Lot through Shimano.
why did they do kiryu so dirty in 6?
why did they do haruka so dirty in 6?
why doesn't the final game in the series take place primarily in kamurocho?
why doesn't it have anything to do with the tojo clan?
why do you have play shitty baby minigames to progress the main story?
why does kiryu run like a fricking geezer and get gassed in 3 seconds forcing you to constantly buy energy drinks at vending machines or to waste hours in the glorified gym ad rhythm game?
Why didn't they fine tune the new engine before putting out a game with weird physics and stiff feeling combat?
Y6 fricking sucks and is a stain on the legacy of the franchise, terrible fricking ending for Kiryu's story. Hopefully that new game rectifies it but considering how shit like a dragon and lost judgement were, my hopes are very low, especially with nagoshi gone.
>Why didn't they fine tune the new engine before putting out a game with weird physics and stiff feeling combat?
It happened with the PS3 engine on Kenzan and 3 too, a price to meet almost yearly releases
So is Tanimura's style from Y4 the Snake style from LJ? I never played Y3 to Y6, but heard they still copied that style, just like they copied Brawler and Tank into Kaito.
Ok good to know, but I wish they made each style into it's dedicated buttong, there's no fricking reason why 3 styles are cramped into 1 button when the L and R dpads are unused.
Why don't people platinum these games? It's really comfy. I would Platinum every game I played if there was a helpful in game list of stuff I needed to do.
I genuinely do not understand why the yakuza games cant get the stories right.
I think making the protagonist such a good guy kind holds it back
We need more outrage but.......
Having a moronic plot is actually part of Yakuza's charm. Every once in a while you get a game in the series with a legitimately good main plot but usually it's some melodramatic bullshit with a thousand plot twists and characters appearing out of thin air, and that's why it's good!
Yakuza plots are fine but they just have a really bad habit of throwing a log of shit into a fan at the last second and making a mess that makes the plot harder to keep track of than kingdom hearts.
He was written to be a shit so Kiryu had someone to fight. The whole premise was that Daigo was faltering and Kiryu needed to beat some sense back into him, then promises to stop running away and help out the Tojo before running away and not help the Tojo again. Kiryu is meant to be the honorable Yakuza that no one can match but he is pretty bad and just beats up any who disagree.
>"Daigo, I won't run away anymore" >goes to drive taxi in another side of the country >"Majima, zoomers these days are pussies you and me has to prop up the clan" >goes back to prison
>Yakuza 3: I can't run the tojo clan because I am on life support >Yakuza 4: I can't run the tojo clan because I am moronic >Yakuza 5: I can't run the tojo clan because I am moronic >Yakuza 6: I can't run the tojo clan because I am in jail >Yakuza 7: I am disbanding the tojo clan
I imagine Kiryu is staying clear of Kamurocho in Gaiden, which is why they emphasize him and Ichiban there in the LAD8 trailer (with Kiryu's JUST cut too of course). This means no Akiyama.
>I imagine Kiryu is staying clear of Kamurocho in Gaiden
And guess who isn't in Kamurocho either? Again Akiyama was absent in 7, I'm just saying now they have a way to potentially justify it, like he's one of the few returning characters they could reasonably bring back. It would even be a natural continuation of his ending in 6.
1-3 had peak final bosses.
4 was alright.
5-6 + 0 were genuinely shit.
7 was a bad in-game fight but thematically it was nice I guess.
Hope 8 has a great final boss.
>get to the part where you fight Majima and Saejima in LaD
Look it would be disappointing if they were pushovers but losing in this game just fricking sucks because it's literally just your numbers being too low.
And the only way to raise number is to do the shitty fricking management sim, otherwise you cannot fricking afford any of the damn weapons in this game because every weapon unironically costs 800.000 Yen
I fricking despise it, and yet your character building depends on it. You wouldn't believe how stripped for money you are in this game if you don't do that shit. I literally cannot afford weapons and have to base my party around whatever weapons I happened to find in a chest somewhere. They better cut that shit out in the next game.
>And the only way to raise number is to do the shitty fricking management sim
No. Do the Battle Arena. It's not optional, it's mandatory. It gives you the second best weapons for the default jobs and a bunch of endgame armor for free as long as you meet the optional requirements (Which is really easy to do even at that stage). It will also level your general and job levels quite a bit. The weapons you get from Chinatown are only better for non-default jobs if you're being lazy, and you can get a bunch of free armor from the Ijincho Underground if you do a single run that will hold you until postgame.
Did you guys open the "fun packs" in Kiwami 1-2?
Feels like it just dumps a bunch of cheat items on you that are way too good in the early game. I ended up just reloading the save and not getting them.
They're not cheat items, they're free patch items that have been given in every game up until K2. You're intended to have them. Cheat items are strictly stuff you get from paid DLC in K2, Judgment, and LJ. It's where Ishin's best Battle Dungeon card is from, it's how you make early game Dead Souls more tolerable since you can craft the Handcannon a bit earlier, it's how you get some decent SSR cards in K2 before you get your SSRs from substories, etc.
>Do the Battle Arena
Yeah I figured. I did some floors but thought I'd progress the story a bit in the meantime not realizing it was immediately gonna kick me in the balls. Do I have to go all the way through if I just wanna beat the game on normal? >Ijincho Underground
The first sewers dungeon? Does it actually scale up as you progress?
>Do I have to go all the way through if I just wanna beat the game on normal?
Yes. Like I said above it's only like two hoursish, maybe three since you can fly by a lot of floors even without knowing what to expect and the optional requirements are fairly easy to reach. >The first sewers dungeon?
Yes. If you just need some mediocre armor without paying for anything to get by you can run it once and loot some safes then use whatever the Battle Arena gives you outside of that. This should carry you to finishing FMT at the very least since if you can finish the final boss you can easily clear the FMT. If you're really worried running the dungeon in the final chapter gets you the best armor in the game from the safes. >Does it actually scale up as you progress?
No.
Oh, and keep in mind you don't need to fight anything but the boss in the Yokohama Underground. In the second underground you can literally run from every encounter even the final fight before the ladder (As far as I recall) and explore it freely.
Did you guys open the "fun packs" in Kiwami 1-2?
Feels like it just dumps a bunch of cheat items on you that are way too good in the early game. I ended up just reloading the save and not getting them.
Is it okay to skip 3? I'm just not feeling this orphanage thing and the whole "Kazama didn't actually die lmao" intro already seems like it's going to be an immensely frustrating asspull
>I'm just not feeling this orphanage thing
It's the beach episode of the series but a character from it is important in 4 and the orphanage is a recurring plot point for 4-6. The orphanage bits are 30 minute to 1 hour sidetracks maybe three times in total throughout the entire game, the rest of it is main story stuff. It also has good side content and fun bosses. Just make sure you're not playing on Hard if you're on the remaster even if you're on PC. >seems like it's going to be an immensely frustrating asspull
You're gonna love every game going forward then since they have twists on par with it. 3's got some silly stuff but 4 takes the cake with its finale which is incredibly funny at how many twists they shove into it.
The unique thing about 3 is that the beach looks beautiful. But I guess you may not want to beat the game just for that. Mine is okay as a villain too. You can tell from the QTE mid-fight that he's not meant to be near Kiryu's level like Ryuji was, he's just some angry gay guy. And that was a nice change of pace from the the other final antagonists in the series.
The orphanage is the best part. It's just extremely front-loaded to where it drags. If they better paced it, you wouldn't even need Kiryu in Tojo bullshit and could've had a comfy "we aren't letting Kiryu have a beard from 2's ending" story.
It's why everyone hates 3: Kiryu didn't need to come back and that girl from 2 was his canon waifu that would never ask him for sex because Kiryu is canon Asexual.
No they didn't. It wasn't the best ending, but he has government officials by the balls on a national scale after that ending. That's a pretty big achievement. Him being legally dead makes it less likely for people to harm Haruka to get back at him. The drawback is he can't touch his chinese sorta-grandson anymore or be with the Morning Glory kids, but they're nearing adulthood anyway. I think we all knew he wasn't going to die. There's no way they'd have him die against an enemy like Iwami.
Wait, so did Akiyama lose all his money in 6? If so, serves him right. I think he was fun to play as, but his moneylending substories were kinda boring.
Well, if you wanna argue Dead Souls he already had Sky Finance up and running just a short while after the end of 4. I don't know how Akiyama went from literally 0 yen to fully funding Sky Finance again but he sure does have the magic touch. He should just play the lottery or something.
How different would 2-6 be if Kiryu just accepted the responsibility of being Tojo Clan chairman instead of immediately dumping it on other people who either end up dying or going into comas until they need to shoot someone
It would go terribly. Mine wouldn't be the big deal he is in 3 because that required Daigo to be there which means the Tojo Clan goes under due to them lacking the financing and even if it reaches the point of 4 Kiryu would never trade with the Ueno Seiwa Clan. He also specifically admits he doesn't approve of ripping people off or scamming them so it's very likely he'd shutter many of their moneymaking avenues.
imo Kiryu is too honorable to be chairman, and supposedly Daigo did a pretty good job in the peace time between the games, in 5 the clain is the biggest they've ever been even. Best would be if he stays around as an advisor or patriarch of his own family close by like Majima for when shit hits the fan
>attempted coup/succession crisis resolves with 3 family patriarchs dead, the omi and government openly posturing for further conflict, and the clan headquarters suddenly down 10 billion >Man who took responsibility for the previous patriarch death shows up and claims he was innocent and also he got a will in at least 2 sets of handwriting saying he's chairman now shame everyone who could back up any of these statements is dead except a disgraced ex omi officer >immediately stops shakedowns, dishonorable business practices, and violent disciplining of subordinates
I'm honestly surprised they let him in the door to retire
You mighta actually just saved my life brother thank you
Consider just pushing through the money requirement first and finishing up the hands like the full straight and rest of the mangans at the intermediate table, the AI is a bit less scummy there.
I just finished Y4, will take a break before starting 5 since I heard it's massive. Just a question: do Nakahara and the other Okinawa people like Mikio appear again in future games? I already know that Kiryu has to leave the orphanage in Y5 for reasons.
>play LJ >hear the story is quite bad >"can't be that bad" >during choice scenes where Yagami has to deduce what the frick the plot is going i always choose the most silly overcomplicated option >its always the correct
im only on chapter 6 and the plot is going off the rails fricking fast
>quickstep distance is either halved (on PC) or doubled (on PS4) >mooks with handguns can't shoot at all >mashing QTEs are harder
Those are the ones I've experienced
All the Remastered remasters: >Pool adds a spin on your hits for no reason.
Can be fixed on PC if using Steam by disabling the Y axis of your right stick. I don't know if KBM can fix it but >KBM. >Bowling has broken physics and makes the pins standing bricks that typically fall in place instead of actually rolling and knocking over other pins properly.
On PC specifically people are still complaining about how hard the Tuna is to catch in fishing but I had zero issues on PS4 in 3R so I don't know if that's just a skill issue or a game issue.
3R: >Quickstep is broken on all systems, either being too short or too far.
I forgot which was which, I think PS4 was too short while PC and Xbone were too far? >Enemies with guns are completely broken and will not fire bullets normally. When they do eventually fire a bullet they will fire 2 bullets at the same time which means shotgunners can instantly kill you in one hit. >Tag Team Heat Actions have split-second timing requirements that weren't present in 3 at all. >Enemy blocking frequency is seemingly double from what it was on PS3 which is noticable if you compare Hard or Ex-Hard/Legend between the versions.
I can personally attest to this because I went from 3R Legend to my PS3 3 Ex-Hard save to check something and noticed enemies weren't blocking nearly as often.
4R: >Apparently enemies grab way more.
I don't remember enemies grabbing a lot in 4 myself but people were complaining about this a lot when it came out and as recently as a month or two ago.
I only played 3R so far out of the remasters and am going off what people here said about 4R and 5R since release but 3R was a mess. This took me like four hours to do compared to five minutes on PS3.
No, the only thing that got fixed was 5R's PC port specifically because it had a bunch of PC-exclusive issues at launch that caused a bunch of issues. They didn't touch any of the issues still present from the remasters being 60 FPS. PC can fix the quickstep distance but that's it and you still need to grab SilentPatch for them to fix some of the CPU utilization issues.

Last time I was playing Y5, the amon fight glitched the frick out. Kiryu's extreme heat mode kept switching on and off randomly and some hits were just phasing through the models without doing anything. I wonder if that was a PC exclusive thing.
>something funky
3 is borderline-unplayable because enemies exclusively block and rarely perform other actions. They can begin blocking while you're mid-combo and shut you out, or just alternate between blocking and taking damage in a nonsensical fashion. You need to mod the game unless you feel like literally tripling the length of your completion time.
Nah, unless you can read Japanese 3R is the best English experience of it. 4R is fine on PC with the restoration mod and the Quickstep mod, you're just gonna lose the original hostesses but that's not a big deal. 5R is up for debate since they did a retranslation that has incorrectly translated dialogue or OC rewrites that aren't there in JP so that doesn't reflect the rest of the script well.
Oh, and another thing is that Shinada's one chase section in 5R is completely broken, I always forget that. You can finish it but it's not remotely how it was intended to be finished.
>play 5R >substory where you're pushing the cart as Kiryu is so broken you quite literally cannot complete it because the timer runs out too fast from being 60fps
I had to use cheat engine to freeze the timer or else it ran out too fast despite me not stopping at all. I tried 3 times before I said frick it. It would run out just before I'd get to the destination. Quite literally impossible.
I get that the gameplay is separate from the story, but it makes no fricking sense for RGG to think anybody would be worried about Watase getting stabbed. That fricker was coming at him so slow, too. It was literally the least climactic way they could've introduced Kiryu again.
I haven't tried Yakuza 7 DLC classes yet. Do any of them actually top Breaker in terms of how fun they are to play? Shame a good chunk of the cool classes don't seem viable for Amon.
>in terms of how fun they are to play
Matriarch has a bunch of gun moves that are pretty fun and one of the moves is pretty overpowered.
Devil Rocker is pretty bad overall but it has a neutral all enemy attack you can get fairly early on and Vampirism is pretty decent on Normal. >Shame a good chunk of the cool classes don't seem viable for Amon.
FMT Amon can have any job used against him. I think when I walked into FMT I was running with Hero (I), Bodyguard (A), Musician (H), and Hostess (S) since I was leveling them? There's not a single job that's bad on Normal, you can literally use an all Chef setup on Amon without much issue, all you need is the talisman that stops Ichiban from having Death work on him.
Nah, if you want you can run Hero and have Ichiban heal everyone or go make those lunch bento things from Survive Bar. They heal the party for 500 HP and I think 500 MP for the best ones allowing you to ignore needing a healer on Normal at least. You can also summon someone for heals (I think the chicken or the donation girl?) and then Mr. Masochist gives the entire party multiple turns of invulnerability.
>Playing Judgement >Doing the Sky Publishing side case, last math puzzle >Get the combo right >Find out the math logic I used was wrong but somehow got the right answer >mwf
Don't ask me what I did because my brain already deleted it out of my head
5th Tojo Chairman that was secretly a Korean gang member. Chinese, Koreans, and Japs can naturally point each other out, like how Americans, British, and Sweds can point each other out.
Is it some sort of tradition that Yakuza don't get their tattoos colored in until after they climb up the ladder or something? Or was the lack of color on Kiryu's tattoo in 0 purely symbolic?
Is there some sort of dialogue in Yakuza 4 that suggests Arai was the one who taught Akiyama how to fight? I think there was one, but I swear I read every possible dialogue box in this playthrough and I couldn't find it.
btw why did they remove the blue jacket Kiryu had in the demo? It's not even an unlockable.
You can mod it back in if you're on PC.
Blue also fits better since Kiryu is often associated with Seiryu, the Azure Dragon.
That's why his heat is blue
Then why did everyone share blue heat in 4
Protag privilege
After playing K2 with the Style Switcher mod, I've come to realize that the physics itself isn't the problem. It's just that the new DoD style just sucks.
>Plot of Y2 is to provoke the two primary Yakuza clans into civil war, eventually merging them together
>The Tojo clan has lost all of its officers, the Nishiki family (said to be half the Tojo's strength) is in shambles, and the Majima family has fricked off to prevent the civil war (that happened anyway)
>The Omi's chairman is gone and the four captains that were vying for the spot have killed each other or committed suicide by running into Kiryu's fists
What the frick happens in Y3? How are there 7 of these games, this roller coaster of twists where virtually every other named character dies by the end of the game can't possibly be sustainable
They just make up new characters
There is actually 8 Yakuza games, you forgot Yakuza 0. Also Judgment + Lost Judgment. (in the first Judgment the story centers around yakuza members getting murdered and the mystery surrounding it)
and part of Lost Judgment deals with the aftermath of Y7's story (i.e. The Tojo Clan and Omi Alliance disbanding)
3 is basically a filler arc. Half the game is SoL shit with the orphanage, the other half is the stupidest fricking twist ever until Yakuza 4, which ACTUALLY has the stupidest fricking twist ever
until Yakuza 7 which ABSOLUTELY has the worst twist ever
Two babies in two lockers, side by side, in the same night
Frick you ichiban being his son was kino and the ending made me cry frick bleach japan
That is not the issue. The issue was
>two babies
>two lockers
>side by side
>one night
You're making me want to replay 7, such a great fricking game.
Wait until they reveal in the next game that in fact he's the son of Sawashiro.
>Yakuza 4, which ACTUALLY has the stupidest fricking twist
O MY CIA TWIN is a gorillion times worse than anything else in the entire series.
It's funny because Joji and Kazama aren't twins, but man you have to accept that overall 4 and 5 are more stupid, Yakuza 2 too.
Yakuza 4 wasn't as stupid as people like to claim, and I don't even think rubber bullets is the worst asspull in that game either.
It probably has the most asspulls, but they shouldn't shock you exactly, having played through the previous three games all with asspulls of their own.
this fight made the whole setup of the game worth it
Introduce new families (who were there all this time) out of their ass.
And Mine saves Tojo's financially in 3.
They have a yakuza clan of 30,000, they get away with this shit all the time
you're a moron
>Y3
Kiryu starts an orphanage in Okinawa which he happily runs until a big land deal threatens to remove him and his kids, plus somebody who looks like Kazama shows up and tries to off Daigo
>Y4
>Y7
New guy Ichiban takes the fall for his patriarch's son and goes to jail, only to get out 10 years later and find his family abandoned him, then when he confronts his patriarch, he gets shot and dumped in a bum city.
>only to get out 10 years later and find his family abandoned him,
18
Yes, my bad. Thanks for the correction.
Why they give more years to Ichiban if Kiryu's "kill" was worse, just to fit the years of Kiryu's adventures?
japanese legal system is fricked
haruka sounds like a bawd
I just finished Judgment, and it was kind of weird how the story goes out of its way to give every character a satisfying conclusion, with the exception of Ayabe, who completely disappears from the story after the beginning of his own trial.
i like how that kyorei captain guy just dies off screen and they dont even show his body
When you do a wannabe Majima/Watase don't expect to see him again.
>Should I play PS2 or PS4 graphics?
Well, I mean
Play Y2 if you played Y1.
If you've played 0 and want some minor fanservice, play K2, but get ready for some of the shittiest combat in the series. It grows on you after the first few hours, but it's like fricking whiplash coming off of any other game besides 6.
Thank you for the no-nonsense answer, will do.
Instead of being autistic you could've just said "Y2" so figured I'd ask where there are actually, you know, people discussing the series.
unless you want to waste your time dealing with jank ass old games play it 0-K1-K2-3R-4R-5R-6
>should I be a zoomer homosexual and play the revision story with added bullshit or play the original take?
play in release order, I already told you this in your garbage thread
play 2, K2 is awful
K2 with restored music mod
PS2 one, K2 is beyond saving, only good thing about it is that it's pretty.
Play the original, youve already played the original Y1
honestly, I started with 0 and went Kiwami 1, then original 2, then release order after that, though i did go back and play the original Y1.
Kiwami 2 just feels so wrong going from K1 to K2, combat is entirely different.
kys 0gay
>"Says here, Y5 is the best and whomever disagrees shall be punished in their dreams by pop idol Haruka."
Yes, Yakuza 5 was peak yakuza, it truly felt like an epic mafia drama.
One month to go ladies
M O I S T
Looks a bit off but it's better than the redone face he got in the Dragon Engine games. Something about DE Kiryu's face came off as too "soft featured" for my liking (a problem in general for the returning male characters).
>Visibly ages from 4 to 5
>Suddenly looks younger in 6
What the frick?
It was the first Dragon engine game, they will polish his face in a future game.
Oh yeah? Which one might that be?
It was going to be Yakuza 7 (LaD) unfortunately KH fricked us and he was replaced by that gay Nick Ogata, I really think Akiyama will be a member of Joryu's party.
Ishin Kiwami.
Lmao what? They barely rework the faces/models in 2-3 games. I would really like to see mesh data between Y3,4 and DS Kiryu because they look identical at a glance.
Why was Yakuza 4 so god damn _ _epic_ _?
sometimes Nu-Tanimura looks really okay and sometimes really goofy
The most KINO boss.
It funny how no one, except Saejima, was a threat to Kiryu after him.
What's funny about that? What's the punchline?
The fact that they made 3 more Kiryu's game and none of the bad guys was close to Kiryu.
>Nishiki
Beaten pretty easily, Kiryu is not damaged but clearly exhausted
>Ryuji
Is only really a threat to Kiryu after both of them are near death, loses handily twice before.
>Mine
Kiryu is visibly tired after this fight and is damaged. A canonical tough fight for Kiryu
>Daigo
Easily beats him. Not surprising since he beat him in Yakuza 2 as well.
>Aizawa
With a gunshot wound and after fighting an army prior, Kiryu still handily kicks his ass. He also loses to him early in the game, and not long before by Saejima.
>Little b***h Iwami
Not even a challenge. Probably canonically the weakest final boss Kiryu fights, his hitman is a bigger threat.
I have to disagree. It was clearly MASSIVE MAN
>Americans were the bad guys all along
Yakuza 3 was honestly pretty based, but I can see why Americans hate it so.
buraku monday...bootiful eyesu...
okinawa was very comfy
>Beautiful guys
>As my brother told me
>Jotaro Kazama is alive and in America for whatever reason
>He's never brought up or mentioned again after 3, he literally disappears
cops have a shelf life of one yakuza game
so Adachi's dead?
No, he moved to Australia and married a black woman
Nanba snapped and stabbed him several times with a broken beer bottle.
What about Date?
Who? 🙂
Not a cop after 1.
He rejoined since the end of 4
He's also wanted for murder in 2 but that's just kinda dropped and never mentioned again
I kind of wanna see another, earlier prequel about those two. Brothers on opposite sides of the law would make a good plot, and we would get to see why Kazama was considered legendary
A prequel to Yakuza 0 titled Yakuza -1
Yakazama Kiwami coming soon
>Yakuza -1
>Starring Kazama and Shimano
kazama and shimano killing immigrants
sounds based
Richardson appears in Isshin
I want him to meet Bacchus
>Ishin releasing in one month
>still no western Kenzan release
Man I'm looking forward to playing Ishin, looks great. I've got no idea what to expect, but it kind of makes me think of way of the samurai but with yakuza gameplay and minigames which sounds amazing.
That'd be cool to have Ichiban somewhere else. I wasn't really a fan of yokohama at all, it felt so lifeless and drab compared to kamurocho.
>yokohama
Eh, I liked it. Some areas were obviously underutilized, but overall not bad. It was a little too big for its own good.
It's a good set piece to develop on.
I'm with you on the size tho. Which is why they put a million cabs in
You will never see Kenzan, is too problematic.
What's the problem? From what I've heard it's just people thinking that child Haruka working as a "prostitute" wouldn't fly by these days. Just switch her with her older Y6 version then or better yet replace her entirely with a new girl.
It's exactly because Haruka prostitutes herself out, and that being part of the plot.
You don't have to imagine that, instead imagine a good ol' tucker carlson episode focusing on the "menace from the east", japanese videogames.
OJISAN!!
Stop spamming this, moron.
I have said the word Ojisan exactly one (1) times in this thread.
You've been posting those gifs and OJISAN for the past couple of threads, it's painfully unfunny and doesn't even make sense.
Haha wow, that's hilarious man.
Stop spamming that, please. I've seen that gif in several threads over the last few days.
>OKAY, ICH SCHALL KOMMIT ZE SIN OF EXPLAINING ZE JOKE ZU DICH: HARUKA REFERS ZU KIRYU AS ODSCHISAN, LIKE WHEN DU'RE WALKING AROUND ZE CITY WITH HER UND DU RUN TOO FAST, SHE ASKS DU ZU GO SLOWER ETC. WHEN PEOPLE INSULT HARUKA IN ZESE THREADS BY KALLING HER EIN prostitute OR ZAT SHE IST USELESS, PEOPLE POST IMAGES OR GIFS AUF HARUKA BEING OUTRAGED, YELLING "ODSCHISAN!" LIKE SHE DOES ZU KIRYU. ODISCHSAN MEANS ONKEL, EVEN THOUGH HE IST HER FOSTER FAZER, IT'S EIN ENDEARING TERM UND SHE WOULD USE ES WHEN SHE DISAPPROVES AUF HIS AKTIONS. WHY DO DU SAY RESPONDING WITH EIN HARUKA MEME IST SPAM, BUT DU DON'T TELL PEOPLE KALLING HER EIN prostitute ZU STOPP SPAMMING ZAT?
What's funny about this?
German humour is only for those of a formidable IQ, you wouldn't understand.
I get it now. Not sure who that dude is supposed to be though.
Some guy who looks like German Kiryu anyway, I think that's how the meme started?
Toto Wolff, he is actually Austrian and yes, he looks like a European Kiryu.
He really doesn't.
Satirizing the meaning is
The peaceful is willing to, D the superior is a bad person!
>people post images or gifs of Haruka being outraged, yelling "Ojisan!" like she does to Kiryu
You're the only one posting it.
>but you don't tell people calling her a prostitute to stop spamming that?
Because she is a prostitute.
Ojisan...
Kiryu symbolizes the fans after Y5.
honestly, if you're gonna spam these, you should use a different heat action every time. make a collection
lurk more, ojisan
I just want to be able to go back to Okinawa...
Okinawa adventures with Ichiban in Yakuza 8 please...
I love yakuza 3 so much bros...
Man, I would love to see some beta Yakuza content. In Ryukyu at around the bus stops, you see what was possibly a beta map of said city and it looked a bit bigger with the invisible wall near hostess club leading to a park and also potentially more walkable areas across the river.
okinawa really feels like latin america. this market is the perfect example
y'know I liked how that big ass area on east kineicho looked but I felt there could've been more shops and stuff
comfiest franchise ngl
Based, we should make a cinegrid of each individual game to lure in newbies into the franchise. I have some kino snaps from each game.
do it
I don't know what people use to make them.
>googles collage maker online free
https://www.befunky.com/create/collage/
or any of the other hundreds of sites
Idk man I think we need a professional to handle this
a professional to make a picture collage?
I'm just lazy to put it all together
so you have the pics right? Just put em in some collage. If you had someone else do it, you'd have to send the pics to them first, but that takes the same effort as just throwing 'em into some collage creator thing
if you want to do that just show people lost judgment's ost
Where is he? Where is Moose?
We killed him so we can have good Yakuza threads again, without him sperging out over some detail
I am playing like a dragon recently. Any other games in this franchise with turn based combat?
Fortunately no, all the other games are based action brawlers where the bosses really feel like bosses
why did people hate Y3? I just finished it and it was the best one so far for me.
Funny enough the one I hated the most was 0 and every one seems to put it at the top.
0 story was badly spaced, boring even the rock paper scissor fight was worse than kiwami
There are several reasons:
Answer C is wrong because you can beat 3 with just XXXYY
How is it wrong when you are using a different combination to beat the game?
>Answer C: XXXXY enthusiast find out they can no longer pres XXXXY without repercussions
Instead you press XXB on repeat. Meanwhile bosses do 10 hit combos on you and you take zero damage from that. It is almost like they knew it was a problem and just compensated by having everyone deal zero damage.
Never encountered this phenomenon because I'm only playing Yakuza games on Hard and Ex-Hard. But I do agree that the damage dealt by enemies is too low ever since Yakuza 6 and up on hardest difficulty however.
As someone who got into the series in 2021, the notion I got was
>Y3 has the worst combat but a really good story
Only Yakuza I played on easy mode, and I don't regret it. Pretty good overall.
Also, I'm on PC and installed all the restoration patches.
It's also a game that is very rough combat wise, and takes a lot of interacting with certain things to finally get going, and that's something the average player is not willing to do.
>why did people hate Y3?
The obnoxious blocking is the only thing worse about it compared to other yakuza games.
Other than that, it's great.
it is kind of necessary to play the outdated ps3 game for full continuity, and people dont like old shit.
I have softened up on 3 after hating it
Mainly because 4 and 5 were also incredibly moronic with lobotomy tier endings
4's ending was kino
>Okay, everyone pick an ass to kick
*special credit to Mine's 7 hour youtube video essay death speech while Richardson makes noises and to Rikiya's death scene as the most embarrassing scenes in Yakuza though
I honestly prefer Dead Souls to Y3. At least Y3 gameplay doesn't make me want to kill myself, even if the story is the most straightforward one with zero twists. RPCS3 crashes make me do that instead.
they did everyone dirty in yakuza 6.
i miss y1/y2 haruka so much it's unreal
What about Dead Souls Haruka?
Why won't they just let based Kiryu rest in peace? Ichiban and Yagami can handle the series.
they're gonna kill him off in this one
I'd say "I wish" but I don't want that at all. I just wish they left him walking off into the sunset in 6, that's all we needed. Now we live in the Kiryu with j-pop hairstyle future and I'm afraid.
That intro boss when you go into the yakuza office in Okinawa was truly hellish, Kiryu's toughest battle.
Because Nagoshi is gone and when creative lead leaves the only thing left to do is to pander to nostalgia.
Have you guys realized that Y7 is the best in the series yet?
play order:
>Yakuza Like a Dragon > Yakuza 0 > Lost Judgment > Yakuza 1 > Yakuza 2 > Yakuza 3 > Judgment > Yakuza Dead Souls > Yakuza 4 > Like a Dragon Ishin > Yakuza 5 > Like a Dragon Gaiden The Man Who Erased His Name > Fist of the North Star Lost Paradise > Yakuza Kiwami > Yakuza Kiwami 2 > Yakuza 6 The Song of Life
That way you have the best story experience.
Why would you put the man who Erased his name before Y6 in a best story experience when it's set AFTER it?
how did you manage to read so far into the post without realizing it was a joke
How close were Haruka and Akiyama really? We know she had a crush on Saejima and got inseminated but what was her opinion of Akiyama?
he was like an uncle
What kinda question is this? Did you play the games?
Ojisan's reliable friend who is helping her out and being an actually nice human to her instead of being part of the horrible idoru industry. Still fricking loved her part though, best part of 5.
I've played almost all the ones on PC so far, only missing Lost Judgment since I'm taking a break while playing One Piece Odyssey before going for it.
The first Judgment was really good so I'm excited for this one too.
Both Judgment games are fricking amazing, but in a vacuum I think Judgment was much better.
Lost Judgment was rushed because of the contract bullshit, and no one can convince me otherwise. 8.5/10 could have been 10/10
Combat in LJ is much better. It's.. kind of not good in Judgement.
>Like a Dragon 8 comes out
>Kiryu meets Haruka again
>she is now 28 years old
>still looks identical to her Y5 and Y6 self
>still same clothes too
You know it'll happen.
Haruto will still be a baby, too. I want them to man up and make Kiryu show signs of being old, god damnit.
I totally hate when they do that, nothing wrong with recycling adult models, but hated a lot how the orphans in Yakuza 6 flashbacks (that were probably between 2012 and 2014) look the same in 2016, I wanted to see a giant Taichi.
especially cause Y6 was an entirely new engine, so there was really no excuse to reuse the old outfits and faces, they had to redo everything anyway
Kiryu will be 56 in LAD8
It's on sale. Go for it or nah?
It was very fun and a nice change of scenery from regular Yakuza games. If you like Yakuza, you'll definitely enjoy playing it.
Some of the best combat and best heat actions in the series, strongly reccomend.
I just finished Yakuza 4 and I want to take a break from the series for like six months. Can I just jump into (Lost) Judgement or will I miss out on the story?
You fully understand Judgment + Lost Judgment without any prior knowledge. But Lost Judgment spoils a big revelation from Yakuza Like a Dragon (Y7).
Lost Judgment spoils a lot of things from 7.
Judgment doesn't really spoil anything, but LJ should be saved until you've beaten 7 (and the first Judgment, obviously).
I always get the main character of Yakuza confused with the main character of Tekken. What's the difference between them? Does he turn into a winged devil?
Did he ever?
No.
In Japan Yakuza 4 is even titled "Like a Dragon 4: Successor to the Legend" my dude
>implying Kiryu didn't get brought back to get killed
screencap this. Sorry, there's a NEW Like A Dragon in town.
Like they have the balls to do that
I'm glad Kiryu is being brought back.
Ichibangays can keep seething.
This
Ichikeks get dabbed on
6 felt like an insult to long time fans
Y4, 5 and Dead Souls were a great trilogy. Hoping for another game in the same vein.
>we could be living in a timeline where every game after Yakuza 5 is a JPOP IDOL simulation starring Haruka Sawamura
I want to cry
>HERRO MINNA SAN ARIGATOU FOR YOUL SUPPORT, DID I EVER TELL YOU MY OJISAN IS YAKUZA
She deserves all the suffering
Yume.
Imagine a Y5 drinking game where everytime someone says yume tou take a shot.
Imagine russian roulette while playing Y5 but every time someone says yume you take a shot. How many times do you think you'll die?
We got based Yagami instead who is an actual irl jpop idol
Yes it's called the darkset timeline that we avoided thankfully
I just bought every numbered Yakuza game on steam for $40 earlier, what am I in for? Also do I play zero or kiwami first
start with Yakuza 5, then stop
zero
bump
You can play 0 to 6 or 1 to 5 then 0 then 6.
Play 0.
Kiwami 1 is a remake and a continuation of 0.
I want to see Aizawa again. I don't care if he shouldn't have been the final boss the fight itself was kino.
when he threw away his sword i creamed myself
Any game that has Haruka getting kidnapped and you have to go save her is automatically shit.
Any game that has Kiryu forgetting how to throw punches quickly and you have to go grind basic combo speed is automatically shit
That makes Yakuza 4 based for having Kiryu remember most of his shit when you get to play as him
I'm in Chapter 12 of Yakuza 6
I fricking knew Takeshi Kitano wasn't going to be some happy go lucky dude taking care of babies. Somehow the plot hasn't driven me off, I actually think it's a better rendition of Y3 even if I'm not exactly looking forward who is shaping up to be the final boss.
I recognized Korean Vergil's VA, I'm actually impressed if he learned a smidgen of korean for his role because his pronunciation was pretty good.
Lo was surprising a pretty okay guy too
She's so fricking hot.
I want to lick her armpits.
Yeah I agree, I want her to choke me with her thighs
NAME
PLEASE
MOMMYYYYYYYYYYYYY
https://twitter.com/IntelHeroine
My man, thanks. I would sex her so much
Just started Yakuza 6, does the combat ever stop feeling floaty and weird as shit? Or do you just adjust to it with time and it starts to feel better?
you can upgrade the speed of the combo, I highly reccomend that
I WANT TO MARRY HARUKA
She killed billions.
every time I play Yakoozers I kinda wish I was in Japan so I could eat that good food
but then I just got a carne asada burrito with curly fries and kielbasa in it and I realize I am more lucky than them
so Judgment is just Yakuza but less colorful?
game has a noir bent to it for sure.
It's supposed to be darker and more grounded, at least for its main story.
He died doing what he loved.
>kiryu won’t come back, they passed the torch
I will never not laugh at the poor delusional souls that thought this
I knew he was coming back eventually, I just wasn't expecting him to return in the very next game.
Bros, Gaiden is looking good.
>model swapping Kaito
sorry Kiryu, he got the good end you never could
G
fricking
G
akiyama is a dogshit homosexual mary sue made for moronic homosexuals
I like Kiryu better, but Akiyama's not a Mary Sue. You can't forget the humiliation he got from Kiryu in 2 games. You can't call him a Mary Sue after that. And before you say "Kiryu beats everyone's ass anyways," it holds more weight when you're a playable protagonist.
anyone who says Akiyama is a "Gary Stu" after his moronic ass 'safe' and he gets robbed is even more moronic than Akiyama is.
What do we expect from the gameplay of LADG:TMWEHN? Also what locations will we visit?
Choose.
I choose the one that doesn't turn Haruka into a prostitute with a mutt baby.
>Haruka has sex one single time with her boyfriend for the purpose of having a baby
>everyone calls her a prostitute
kek stay mad
>wanting to have a baby without getting married
prostitute
How is LAD controversial lmao
it set records and brought a ton of people into the fan base.
I think the series is in a good place right now. Popular enough where we get fast ports and shit, but not so popular it gets NORMALgayGED
At the time it was a new protag with turn based combat after having 7 games of brawler combat so it was pretty controversial back then
Fair prior to its release, but I am pretty sure that image is from some homosexual Youtuber thumbnail because I've seen it before due to clicking endless Yakuza OST videos
homie we know they’re censoring ishin kiwami
The series got normalgayged after 0
>censoring ishin kiwami
I do not blame them one fricking bit. If you want to get assmad at someone, go attack some Twitter posters or something (in Minecraft).
social media turned the whole world into preteens
That remake is proof enough that the series has been normalgayged
You have no clue what 'going mainstream' even means, tardbro.
It’s still niche, but it’s much more popular here than prior, to the point where they’re now actively pandering to people who started with 0 and 7
That’s the reason they’re replacing characters in ishin, and making the combat way more wacky, censoring things that “wouldn’t fly today”
It’s been normalgayged, and I’m sorry that you’re one of them
>It’s been normalgayged, and I’m sorry that you’re one of them
I can almost see the tears dripping down your greasy ass face as your typed that lmao
>NOOO WHY ARE THEY USING THE BIGGER NAME PEOPLE FROM THE NEWER GAMES IN THEIR REMAKE INSTEAD OF THE OLD ONES THAT THEY PROBABLY DON'T EVEN HAVE CONTRACTS WITH ANYMORE
>AIIYYYYYYYEEEEE
>I'M SORRY BABA I'LL SAVE YOU AND DEFEND YOUR HONOR ONLINE
balls out, moron
whenever some LARPing moron does this, ask them which one in particular they're butthurt over being replaced. They never answer because two of them were original characters, and nobody gives a frick about Kugihara, Baba, or Aoyama. Replacing Ogita with Koshimizu from 6 is legit, too.
Adachi and Shibusawa replacing the characters they made up are great ideas, too.
I had to look up Yahata because I didn't remember who that was kek
At least for me I'm partially against replacing the original characters since this is a series where I'm actually looking forward to new characters and voice performances so it's sad I won't be able to hear them in-game proper
The fact that the remake replaces Ogita and Baba makes it good though
it just probably makes sense from the 'newer games' perspective but also those were a lot of likenesses and I imagine these games must be contract nightmares
Han over kugihara looks incredibly out of place
Shibusawa being the final boss of 0 also brings that set of expectations here
Awano is replacing hayashi who was a massive homo, which is going to be jarring since they’ll have to either rewrite that or remove it entirely
Really, it’d be better off if they were new characters or whatever since replacing old characters but keeping the same personalities is even more jarring
I accept your concession
why do people always post this when they get BTFO and have no response? It's really fricking pathetic
That post BTFO’d themselves when they resorted to posting the equivalent of “cry more”
Baffles me how well they balance and blend likeness with the character's role in the story for these and then every single porn starlet ended up looking worse than the generic stock townspeople models
Did you just genuinely confuse someone saying Ishin Kiwami got censored (removal of actual story scenes and dialogue because it was deemed "inappropriate") over some schizo ramble you made in your head that sounds straight out of dbs Ganker threads?
>saying Ishin Kiwami got censored
but he (you) didn't say that. You said it got "normalgayged"
What exactly is Ishin Kiwami censoring? If anything they're adding more stuff to the game
According to the devs, it’s story stuff that wouldn’t be acceptable now
Most likely the parts involving hayashi being a massive homo, since they already cut a bit of dialogue from the introduction of the shinsengumi characters
Well that's great because I hate homos
He’ll still be gay
Just not comically gay
to me there is a difference between "we have to change this because Americans are insane and it will hurt our game sales if we don't" and "our localizers just made shit up". I understand and tolerate the first.
that's just me, though.
>series that was a brawler since the beginning suddenly goes through a genre shift
How is 7? Its the next one for me and I'm kind of dreading the genre shift. Apparently there is a grind near the end?
7 genuinely isn't that bad. If you're okay with or like jrpgs, it's a fun game. Unless you're really autistic and nitpicky, it's not an issue. Just use Cheat Engine if you don't want to do any grinding. I didn't but it's an option.
I've only really played and enjoyed Persona 3 and 4 so far.
I'd say I'm a fan of the series. I love action games a lot more than I do jrpgs but at the same time, one of my favorite games is a ps1 jrpg. It really depends on what you can handle. I found LAD to be way better than I anticipated and I really liked it overall.
I do a lot of side content too so that isn't an issue.
>people itt unironically thinking that kiryu was supposed to pass the torch to ichiban
He looks so tired in that pic, as if he'd already been asked that question many times before.
he looks lifeless in Y7 fsr
Akiyama haters just seethe he mogs everyone singing and it's more obvious when you put them right together.
>"Oh look it's Anon. He just came back from a hard day of work at Wette Kitchen. Hey, Anon, want to join us for a few drinks?"
>my back hurts
>my feet hurt
>it smells like Chinese food in here
>I wonder what Ichiban is up to
>I wish I were at home drinking The Malts Premium
Is this realistic?
This is coming at the heels of him loading 15 bullets into a revolver to better shoot rockets out of the air, anything is possible
If that's real he should defeat bosses with 1 hit.
>playing Yakuza 4 with my girlfriend
>Saejima pins Haruka to the floor
>girlfriend bites her lip
Uhm, bros? What the frick?
TAIGA'D
>YES! Kill him! Destroy him for my amusement!
I did it, gays
Pool completed
>Daigo starts his bodyguard business
is akiyama in ishin kiwami?
he's in the trailer fighting ryuji
so they got his voice actor back?
Probably just lines reused from the original ishin
I want to FRICK T-SET.
REMOVE T-SET
>Haruka beats them, putting a severe damper on their future career prospects if not outright ruining them
>quits immediately after, fricking them over
what did she mean by this
canon haruka must have been the version that quit after park died and lost the first part of the finals
that's the loser that got knocked up by whatshisface, t-set was just giving her a pity stage
explain the robot game from LJ to me, what do i do
ignore what the game says and just draw a line from your goal to their goal and get one block inside of it
make your other two robots shooty types, GG
thx
>7 sells less than previous games in japan
>nagoshi leaves
>they get cold feet and bring back kiryu so soon
Here comes the fall
Yakuza 5 has such a good OST holy shit.
yeah
>given almost an hour worth of cutscenes setting her up as Kiryu's love interest
>actually survives her game unharmed
>she only has a "mutual interest" with Kiryu and promptly gets written out of the next game
?????????????????????????????????
you must be really mystified by bond girls not being in the next movie
Lea Seydoux appeared in the follow-up one and gave him a daughter
I haven't watched one since timothy dalton
Didn't ask

Still want Kiryu to impregnate her.
wasn't it just because her voice actress was a c**t?
or is that just a baseless rumor?
So Yuta didn't think of, you know, bagging it?
>Yuta
>think
lmao
Haruka is lucky that the kid can walk straight
I can't believe he made her moan like that, that son of a b***h. He came very deep inside her, he went balls out.
Majima got his revenge for the death of Sagawa? or at least he knows about it?
doubt he cared even thoe Sagawa cared, dude wanted to get Majima the civi's life but Majima was too autistic about it
why did they even want to kill Sagawa-han anyway
>Seconds after Majima left, three Omi Alliance men (Kojiro Nagaoka, Joji Samejima, and Jotaro Hamamoto) arrived, and they proceeded to shoot Sagawa dead from behind as punishment for his failure to obtain the Empty Lot through Shimano.
His kyodai killed an Omi captain right
The Omi-Tojo Clan alliance to open up in Tokyo was on Sagawa's head. The deal failed and it got a Omi HQ officer killed.
because he's not in 1 2 3 4 5 6 or even 7
why did they do kiryu so dirty in 6?
why did they do haruka so dirty in 6?
why doesn't the final game in the series take place primarily in kamurocho?
why doesn't it have anything to do with the tojo clan?
why do you have play shitty baby minigames to progress the main story?
why does kiryu run like a fricking geezer and get gassed in 3 seconds forcing you to constantly buy energy drinks at vending machines or to waste hours in the glorified gym ad rhythm game?
Why didn't they fine tune the new engine before putting out a game with weird physics and stiff feeling combat?
Y6 fricking sucks and is a stain on the legacy of the franchise, terrible fricking ending for Kiryu's story. Hopefully that new game rectifies it but considering how shit like a dragon and lost judgement were, my hopes are very low, especially with nagoshi gone.
>why did they do haruka so dirty in 6?
She did herself dirty in Y5
>Why didn't they fine tune the new engine before putting out a game with weird physics and stiff feeling combat?
It happened with the PS3 engine on Kenzan and 3 too, a price to meet almost yearly releases
They had to devote all hands to the camgirl minigame, prease understand
I definetly devoted my hands to the camgirl minigame, god bless anri okita
So is Tanimura's style from Y4 the Snake style from LJ? I never played Y3 to Y6, but heard they still copied that style, just like they copied Brawler and Tank into Kaito.
>So is Tanimura's style from Y4 the Snake style from LJ
No not at all, the only thing it has in the moveset is the parry.
Ok good to know, but I wish they made each style into it's dedicated buttong, there's no fricking reason why 3 styles are cramped into 1 button when the L and R dpads are unused.
Yakuza 6 is the worst one
Yakuza 5 is the worst one
Will this happen in Ishin remake?
Of course it will. It's great.
Why don't people platinum these games? It's really comfy. I would Platinum every game I played if there was a helpful in game list of stuff I needed to do.
I platinumed Y6 but none of the others

I genuinely do not understand why the yakuza games cant get the stories right.
I think making the protagonist such a good guy kind holds it back
We need more outrage but.......
Beat Takeshi is in 6
Having a moronic plot is actually part of Yakuza's charm. Every once in a while you get a game in the series with a legitimately good main plot but usually it's some melodramatic bullshit with a thousand plot twists and characters appearing out of thin air, and that's why it's good!
the stories are literally intended to be soap operas for men. Those 'twists' are 100% intentionally moronic.
Yakuza plots are fine but they just have a really bad habit of throwing a log of shit into a fan at the last second and making a mess that makes the plot harder to keep track of than kingdom hearts.
Where can I get some more good Yakuza movies?
7’s putting me to sleep
What’s the must know info from this game so I can skip to better games
CAN YOU HANDUR IT?
What the FRICK was Daigo's problem in Yakuza 4?
Tojo clan was a mess and he got desperate.
>"Daigo, I won't run away anymore"
>goes to drive taxi in another side of the country
>"Majima, zoomers these days are pussies you and me has to prop up the clan"
>goes back to prison
>Yakuza 3: I can't run the tojo clan because I am on life support
>Yakuza 4: I can't run the tojo clan because I am moronic
>Yakuza 5: I can't run the tojo clan because I am moronic
>Yakuza 6: I can't run the tojo clan because I am in jail
>Yakuza 7: I am disbanding the tojo clan
Now that I think about it, Akiyama being absent in 7 means it would be perfectly fine for him to show up in Gaiden., I hope they do bring him back.
I imagine Kiryu is staying clear of Kamurocho in Gaiden, which is why they emphasize him and Ichiban there in the LAD8 trailer (with Kiryu's JUST cut too of course). This means no Akiyama.
>This means no Akiyama.
"Hey Kiryu, funny to see you here. I was starting up a remote Sky Finance office here in Ijincho."
>Woah hey Kiryu-chan! I thought you were dead? Anyway, me and Saejima were scouting out this place
Breaking Haruka's back, snapping her spine in half. Thoughts?
I NEED to have SEX with THE DRAGON OF KANSAI
why does Kiryu keep leaving a woman unattended with just Date to protect them near the end of the games
same reason he always stands in the same spot for minutes when people shoot each other

And the only way to raise number is to do the shitty fricking management sim, otherwise you cannot fricking afford any of the damn weapons in this game because every weapon unironically costs 800.000 Yen
>he didn't autistically do everything with the management sim
ngmi
Healing and some equipment isn't really cheat items but okay
usually not but I used all the cheat items on the gang shit in Judgment
no regrets
>It’s a Kiryu kills every Korean in the Greater Tokyo Metropolitan Area episode
>Not wanting BTS to take over Japan
He was justified, tbh.
Am I blanking out on Y4/Y5? Because I don't remember Haruka ever meeting Akiyama before he shows up at Dyna Chair.
They met offscreen after the end of 4
>itchybum kusoge is so shit they bring back kiryu
LOL
No ichiban's not shit. He is a hero
Thank god I won't have to do any of that again
loved the characters, loved the story, hated the fricking minigame
Is it okay to skip 3? I'm just not feeling this orphanage thing and the whole "Kazama didn't actually die lmao" intro already seems like it's going to be an immensely frustrating asspull
3's great but it can be rough. Especially if you're playing the remastered version because it fricks up the AI to make them block machines.
you'll regret it if you do
>I'm just not feeling this orphanage thing
It's definitely skippable. There isn't anything unique or special about it.
It's why everyone hates 3: Kiryu didn't need to come back and that girl from 2 was his canon waifu that would never ask him for sex because Kiryu is canon Asexual.
would you rather that they do Kiryu that dirty instead?
err they did
No they didn't.
Kiryu's face looks weird in Y6 and Y7
ah, that's what you meant
my bad, I always get assblasted when defending 6
Wait, so did Akiyama lose all his money in 6? If so, serves him right. I think he was fun to play as, but his moneylending substories were kinda boring.
No. He went into hiding.
but wouldn't Ed have found his money
I assume they raided his shit
He lost all his money at the end of 4 and made it all back when 5 came around, day trading is just magic
It's even faster than that since he loaned money to Park like a year before 5
Well, if you wanna argue Dead Souls he already had Sky Finance up and running just a short while after the end of 4. I don't know how Akiyama went from literally 0 yen to fully funding Sky Finance again but he sure does have the magic touch. He should just play the lottery or something.
SHIIINNINGGGG GAAAATTTTEEEEE
TRAUMA HE
>literal boomers at Johnny's shit their pants over this
Thank god for the new CEO
>morons thought game models couldn't be ripped from consoles
The real reason why Akiyama isn't featured is because his VA is hellishly expensive
They need to stop with the actors and models, it can really limit what they can do.
That and he's Donald fricking Duck, so you better hope a Kingdom's Hearts game isn't in development.
>because his VA is hellishly expensive
That doesn't hold any water considering he regularly comes back for RGGO.
>Kaito sneaking around
>nobody see's this burly ass gorilla
I wonder if they are going to follow this substory in the sequels.
How different would 2-6 be if Kiryu just accepted the responsibility of being Tojo Clan chairman instead of immediately dumping it on other people who either end up dying or going into comas until they need to shoot someone
Not great because no chairman would be roughing around the streets fighting punks and low yakuza.
Probably horrible, Nishikiyama family still hates his guts and being chairman wouldn't change that.
Best would be if he stays around as an advisor or patriarch of his own family close by like Majima for when shit hits the fan
>attempted coup/succession crisis resolves with 3 family patriarchs dead, the omi and government openly posturing for further conflict, and the clan headquarters suddenly down 10 billion
>Man who took responsibility for the previous patriarch death shows up and claims he was innocent and also he got a will in at least 2 sets of handwriting saying he's chairman now shame everyone who could back up any of these statements is dead except a disgraced ex omi officer
>immediately stops shakedowns, dishonorable business practices, and violent disciplining of subordinates
I'm honestly surprised they let him in the door to retire
Consider just pushing through the money requirement first and finishing up the hands like the full straight and rest of the mangans at the intermediate table, the AI is a bit less scummy there.
I just finished Y4, will take a break before starting 5 since I heard it's massive. Just a question: do Nakahara and the other Okinawa people like Mikio appear again in future games? I already know that Kiryu has to leave the orphanage in Y5 for reasons.
>Just a question: do Nakahara and the other Okinawa people like Mikio appear again in future games?
Nope.
I see, that sucks.

There's a lot of issues with 3 (and 4) Remastered. If you're on PC, there's a mod that at least fixes the quickstep distance.
https://www.nexusmods.com/yakuza3remastered/mods/22
https://www.nexusmods.com/yakuza4remastered/mods/18
Is there a list of the issues somewhere?
>quickstep distance is either halved (on PC) or doubled (on PS4)
>mooks with handguns can't shoot at all
>mashing QTEs are harder
Those are the ones I've experienced
All the Remastered remasters:
>Pool adds a spin on your hits for no reason.
3R:
>Quickstep is broken on all systems, either being too short or too far.
4R:
>Apparently enemies grab way more.
I don't remember enemies grabbing a lot in 4 myself but people were complaining about this a lot when it came out and as recently as a month or two ago.
I only played 3R so far out of the remasters and am going off what people here said about 4R and 5R since release but 3R was a mess. This took me like four hours to do compared to five minutes on PS3.
no one cares, I'm not reading that shit. this isn't your personal blog
there's at least one person who does
No, the only thing that got fixed was 5R's PC port specifically because it had a bunch of PC-exclusive issues at launch that caused a bunch of issues.

He was too go

Lemme, uh *scratches head* get this straight, we uhh

Man.. Am I gonna have to dig out my PS3 and find copies of 3,4 and 5?
Do it for him.
Christ I forgot they replaced Tanimura.
PS3 western Y3 is censored and literally missing content. Then again so is PC remaster 3. Not even mods can bring back everything removed
The only true way to experience OG Y3 is emulating the original PS3 Japanese version
CAN'T JUSTIFEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
the man who erased his wiener
I like how the translators went out of their way to make Baba even more punchable
is 5R the most not broken remaster on console? I played all these on PS3 so I'm surprised to hear all these issues on the ports.
>play 5R
>substory where you're pushing the cart as Kiryu is so broken you quite literally cannot complete it because the timer runs out too fast from being 60fps
Huh? I never had problem with that substory on PC.
I had to use cheat engine to freeze the timer or else it ran out too fast despite me not stopping at all. I tried 3 times before I said frick it. It would run out just before I'd get to the destination. Quite literally impossible.
I don't remember any issues with completing a substory in 5R. It's the first game I did the Amon fight in. Maybe this was patched beforehand?
I just completed 5R in December.
I'd say it's 4R just because of the Shinada issue affecting both the main story and the ultimate mission.
Damn, I thought having an idol was pretty much a requirement. I'll try the fight once I get some more of those permanent stat boosts from job exp.

ARR LOOK SAME
Arai getting rubber bullet'd by Munakata despite knowing about them
Is it some sort of tradition that Yakuza don't get their tattoos colored in until after they climb up the ladder or something? Or was the lack of color on Kiryu's tattoo in 0 purely symbolic?
Symbolic and I don't think you get tattoos done all at once, for big ones like Yakuza tats it's a multiday process.
BARRRRRRRRRRRRA MAKU
Is there some sort of dialogue in Yakuza 4 that suggests Arai was the one who taught Akiyama how to fight? I think there was one, but I swear I read every possible dialogue box in this playthrough and I couldn't find it.
