no, I'm enjoying Stadium 2 on my N64.Using Mystery Gift, saving teams in the lab & actually having access the GB tower just makes the switch version irrelevant. Oh yeah: move learner made it worth going through gym castle
It's hard, UI is really a pain in the ass on the switch. I remember liking it more back on the N64. It reminds me of doing the emeralds battle frontier with rentals. Pretty fun challenge so far. Really needed it after Scarlet lacked a battle tower of any kind. Raids use to be fun before all the hax legendary Pokémon got added back in. Not even fun to prepare anymore. Some of my favorite moments was getting my raid pokemon ready. Really felt a bond with my little 1s and 0s.
Stadium 2 is a lot harder.
Also the AI literally cheats. If you are doing too well, the AI automatically gets critical hits and status conditions inflicted. It is rigged against you.
I played this on Switch with save states
I had a Wobbuffet out against Blaine’s R1 Flareon. Both Pokémon have half health. I have 3 Pokémon and he has 2.
I save state at the second turn.
I use Destiny Bond, Counter, or Mirror Coat. His Fire Blast always crits and KOs Wobbuffet.
I use Safeguard. His Fire Blast never crits.
I reset this a dozen times. The damage is set the moment you pick the move.
In past resets a move’s damage and secondary effect triggering is based on what you do in game. If the game sees you are at an advantage it will actively screw you over.
In another fight against Surge’s R1 Raichu, he paralyzes Wobbuffet with T Wave. Both at half health.
I try to use Mirror Coat on same turn. Works as intended all the time even when no move is dealt. Destiny Bond paralyzes.
On the next turn after Raichu uses Tbolt, automatically paralyzed if I use Mirror Coat.
The game actively changes the damage done and the results of each turn based on whether or not you get an advantage.
I rerolled the same effects each time.
I'm playing it on emulator after having finished Stadium 1, I'm currently on Round 2 and stuck on Ultra Ball Poké Cup. Not even Wobbuffet saves me because the AI just trolls me with status conditions.
The movesets suck even harder than the ones in Stadium 1 and there's only one type of them (while the prequel had two of them).
Btw, I'm using fastforward because the animations are long and the music kinda sucks anyway.
already finished all of it with rentals only on emulator
>can't even use your own mons
What's the point?
inb4 DURR RENTALS ARE MORE CHALLENGING
That's maximum cope.
The current copium is that they'll add the GSC roms and stadium compatiability after they release the SV DLC.
I don't think you're the target audience then. Simple as.
The game isn't designed to be played with rentals.
i play it on the original hardware
frick the shitty switch port
I still haven't finished the cups in 1. Even with the help of that brit and his speedrun.
>that Brit
If you mean werster he is Australian. Also https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7effMSQlWyU&t=5
Close enough. And yea that's the exact video I'm following.
He laughs for a reason. The teams he uses are the best rental teams but rather the fastest. There is a MASSIVE difference
>paying for N64 online
It isn't valuable to most people, but I've loved being able to play N64 games with online multiplayer.
Something you can do with a computer

biggest copium take here

don't see how any of this is cheating. those are all just effects that can happen in a normal game. you aren't meant to play with savestates anyway
using wobbuffet does frick with the ai, but not in the way you're describing

Turbonerds have taken the game apart. The ai doesn't cheat. You just got unlucky.
>cheats at the game by playing with save states
>complains about the AI cheating
Making use of what features are there because Nintendo is moronic and hates money.
what the frick man
>lvl 20 with dragon rage
