The unbroken Miss Delight design from the same chapter is a better implementation of a creepy smile. It's obviously meant to be friendly but it's too wide and toothy so it looks vaguely threatening and unhinged.
Chapter 3 really felt like it was trying too hard with the Smiling Critters. The cartoon especially comes across like something you'd have to be insane to market towards children unironically. And it doesn't even have anything to do with the plot of the chapter really considering the others all got murdered by the cat anyway.

The fact that the Prototype seems to only be able to speak with recorded words (which is why he switches voices) seems like an argument against him being Ollie, who speaks normally and is capable of reacting to present events.
The Prototype had years to learn about speaking properly, even before the Hour of Joy. But to some Ollie's dialog is weirdly cadenced, as if it comes from several recordings. Could be just people seeing things that aren't there since the VA budget probably isn't too much, who knows.
I like how the smile pals were not even close to looking like their cartoon equivalents besides the weird nightmare faces. They made them look like muppets when really they were like six feet tall spindly weirdos with plastic heads.

Like Huggy Wuggy and Kissy Missy, as mascots, are meant to be partners (she's officially described as his "better half") but that doesn't mean monster Huggy and Kissy are dating.
I finally decided to check these games out. A lot of bad game design at moments, but it has moments of greatness too. The part where you first encounter Kissy at that one gate was just a top tier performance, whoever is responsible for the animation/direction. I like the mystery as well regarding whose sides everyone is on and am looking forward to finding out which theory turns out correct.

Catnap and presumably the other "full sized" versions were all made to gaurd the children's wing while keeping the kids in check. They might have used the others for actual mascot purposes fron time to time but catnap was explicitly designed to subdue the test subjects. The little plushies are essentially just mindless animals trying to eat everything.

Catnap should’ve been like Mr X or Nemesis and just constantly stalked you throughout the game. That first house section especially felt like it needed something else to make it not be pure padding. He still looks the best out of the main villains though
I really think they were meant to originally have stealth sections with Catnap in those areas. There were so many areas they could’ve had you avoiding catnaps gaze with his eyes the only thing you could see in the darkness. They could’ve also had catnap constantly patrol the main area so you had to avoid him while you get the keys. As it stands the house and offices just seem rushed and unfinished, especially with how catnap just randomly jumps on you in the office

The fact that the Prototype seems to only be able to speak with recorded words (which is why he switches voices) seems like an argument against him being Ollie, who speaks normally and is capable of reacting to present events.
The Prototype had years to learn about speaking properly, even before the Hour of Joy. But to some Ollie's dialog is weirdly cadenced, as if it comes from several recordings. Could be just people seeing things that aren't there since the VA budget probably isn't too much, who knows.

That was always weird to me too, like the other Bigger Bodies toys can still appear "cute" when not in attack mode because they're the same design as the regular toy versions. But then the big Smiling Critters are just fricked up for seemingly no reason? What was the purpose of making them so lanky? I have a hard time imagining them actually getting along with the kids when they look so intimidating, even if they're genuinely good-natured like DogDay.
It's weird because pretty much every big toy we've seen so far were just scaled-up versions of the actual toys (like Huggy or Mommy), but Catnap doesn't look like anything like his cartoon self of plushie (I guess the smaller plushies are pretty accurate though).

I finally decided to check these games out. A lot of bad game design at moments, but it has moments of greatness too. The part where you first encounter Kissy at that one gate was just a top tier performance, whoever is responsible for the animation/direction. I like the mystery as well regarding whose sides everyone is on and am looking forward to finding out which theory turns out correct.

Isn't confirmed, I assumed that CatNap and DogDay we see in the game were "biological grown up" versions of the original plushies.
Catnap and presumably the other "full sized" versions were all made to gaurd the children's wing while keeping the kids in check. They might have used the others for actual mascot purposes fron time to time but catnap was explicitly designed to subdue the test subjects. Catnap should’ve been like Mr X or Nemesis and just constantly stalked you throughout the game. That first house section especially felt like it needed something else to make it not be pure padding. He still looks the best out of the main villains though
Padding in general seems like a problem for the game. The first house and those offices had like no losing conditions.
I really think they were meant to originally have stealth sections with Catnap in those areas. There were so many areas they could’ve had you avoiding catnaps gaze with his eyes the only thing you could see in the darkness. They could’ve also had catnap constantly patrol the main area so you had to avoid him while you get the keys. As it stands the house and offices just seem rushed and unfinished, especially with how catnap just randomly jumps on you in the office
