Dark souls 2 is trash and obviously the worst in the series. Dark souls 3 is good but nowhere near as good as 1. Demon souls is mid and sekiro is liked mostly by adhd zoomers. Elden ring is the third best game after og dark souls and bb.

Except the Soulsborne games are far better than Monster Hunter slop. It’s not even comparable how much From surpasses those games if you insist on comparing them. And honestly that’s basically like saying God of War ripped of Devil may cry. No shit they’re still fun games though.

ds2 is great and I'm tired of pretending otherwise
It’s great compared to most video games and had a lot for build variety in PvP.
However by the standard of Fromsoft games it is probably the worst souls game they’ve made. The weapon animations often look weirdly floaty and the level and world design (often boss design too) is a rather dramatic step back from DS1. The Matosis vid is pretty famous at this point for comparing DS2 with its predecessors but for good reason. It’s one of the better game critiques I’ve seen. I still enjoyed the game a lot but it’s just not on the level of it’s predecessor. Soul memory was also a horrible mistake.

You’re aggressively underrating Sekiro while overrating ER — Sekiro has the best combat system I have ever experienced in a video game, but most people seem unwilling to push through the learning curve — even established Fromsoft fans. Sorry you can’t roll spam as your primary strategy anymore. They even fixed the innate lag on the dodge action in Sekiro since it triggers on key down instead of key up then regressed backwards again in ER.
Don’t get me wrong DS1 especially is a masterpiece and ER is very good too but there was wildly too much enemy and mini hoss reuse in ER for it to be their best work. That and the mini dungeons were incredibly repetitive.
It has my favorite fight clubs. It has the best dueling scene. 3's PvP is legitimately fun to play in a fair fight.
I'll admit 3's invasions suck dick because of estus and roll spam, but what's the alternative? 1 devolves into backstab setplay and burrito combos, 2 has soul memory, and Elden Ring's PvP is just dogshit all around.

Oh, and Remasteted also committed the sin of password summons. Every souls game with password summons (including 3) has objectively bad invasions.

Yes, I legitimately think 3 is the best. It’s pretty much ds1, but x10. It’s got all the world building and cool environments as the first, but with more weapon and armor variety and way better boss fights. I also prefer the faster pace.. and ds2 is just complete dogshit
3 is a hallway and for some reason many of the armours look off. Boss fights are good but everything else is inferior imo. And before you say “b-but lost izalith” smouldering lake is just as bad let’s be real.
Lost Izalith isn’t even as bad as people make it out to be. They had the good sense to keep the level small and it had a unique visual style. Bed of Chaos isn’t a boss I’ll defend as one of their best but I actually like that not all the bosses are just action game roll spam opponents. It can be nice to have a bed of chaos here and there just for something different. This is something DeS understood better than the other games, that games bosses were very memorable for the most part.
I get why you would think it's better than 1 but the first experience with 1 is wayy better than 3. 3 is more of what the force awakens is to A new Hope. You will never be more amazed in 3 than in 1.
3 starts off strong and has some of my favorite enemies in the winged knights and lothric knights.
But some of the levels are genuinely horrific. I don’t mind them revisiting the bog level but compare Blight Town or Valley of Defilement to that travesty of a level in DS3 and it’s just a yucky comparison for DS3.
My other issue with DS3 is there’s something that doesn’t land with its lighting where it often looks weirdly flat or relative in the environment even compared to DS1.
It’s a good game and I played the hell out of it but for me DS1, DeS, Sekiro are the superior titles. But damn do I love those Winged Knights. Also kinda sucked they kept using the same dragon model over and over again in DS3 but I’m nitpicking there. Game has a lotta good like what they did with the dancer early on for example.
2 is the best and I'm convinced it's hated because it filtered the frick out of people

it looks like trash and the theme is trash. Both DeS, DS1, and DS2 convey post-apocalypse and decay without beating you over the head with ugly ass visuals. They clearly had no idea how to use and / or were rushed with production on the bloodborne engine.

3 is pretty good. It basically plays like Bloodborne just with the typical DS dark fantasy motif instead of Victorian/Celestial horror and Ganker is content jacking off Bloodborne regularly but shits on DS3 (and loves DS2 because they need to be as contrarian as humanly possibly). The main game boss fights are also far better than Bloodborne's. BB's good fights are behind the DLC. Also I can run it on my PC at 1440p/60 instead of the horrendous performance BB is stuck at.
