It's really not. Translation is dirt cheap, and possibly one of the reasons why it's so bad in both philosophy and quality control. It's in fact getting even cheaper as some studios use machine-aided translations and soon lots of them are going to migrate to using it integrally when it won't be so looked down upon, just like all AI.
US translation uses a lot of "pre-translation" and generally is made by Chinese people who also knows something of Japanese.
In France the translations are made directly from the original japanese script, always refusing the english version.
UK translations must be even worse since it's generally a country worse than the US.
Some chinese kanji are the same from japanese so they have an easier time doing the translations.

After I enjoyed playing 13 Sentinels, I went and played Dragon's Crown and it made me think these guys shouldn't try to make action games. In fact they should probably just make turnbased games. Dragon's Crown was so easy and slow that it had no entertainment value at all outside of the fanservice.
A process like "throw a bomb" that should be a single keypress in D'C is done by cycling through a menu by tapping left and right on the dpad, then pressing down on the bomb item skill which you have equipped, which then only puts the bomb in your hand, which then itself cannot be thrown, but only dropped onto the ground a meter in front of you.
