When I was a child, even before I knew of molluscs and their siphons, I could reason that the cannons were made of the same bony material as the shell and that shooting water from those was not much different from us producing tears and sweat. WHY IS EVERYONE ELSE SO STUPID???
When I was a child, I learned the difference between molluscs and turtles and why their biological adaptations to the same environment were so wildly different.
Blastoise doesn't filter-feed, so why would it grow a siphon to spew water out its shell. Ironic you used that image - it's like you had been introduced to the concept of siphons, but not actually told what they were for or indeed why molluscs even had them in the first place.
But they somehow MAGICALLY make blastoise' cannons acceptable, because "shellfish have them" (Blastoise' category name is the SHELL pokémon however. The morons at NoA made Nob write it as "Shellfish", because they knew kids like you existed).
When I fought the director and he used the duck with its final evolution, and it started dancing left-right-left-right, I immediately thanked God for letting me choose a cool crocodile. It was the most disgusting animation, the most disgusting pokemon I've ever seen, and I played every single fricking generation.
