It's a love it or hate it type of deal. It's worth four bucks if you think you might be in the former category. I thought it would be my kind of game but I couldn't stand it, but YMMV
it's just another game most people here pretend to like in order not to be called non-white even though the game itself is pretty fricking boring
overall it's pretty comfy but after a while you realize that 95% of quests are fetch quests and the combat becomes a staring contest as soon as you learn the "advanced" parry technique that apparently every common peasant knows how to do for some reason

It reminded me of games from the late 90s/early 00s. Autistic level of passion and detail in the world, characters and weird obtuse game mechanics.
The main thing to keep in mind so you don’t get frustrated is your character is supposed to be horrible at everything at the beginning. Most games even at level 1 you’re somewhat competent but in this you are completely useless and you have to literally do sparring practice for days in game to level up. I dropped the game the first time I played during an early mission where you have to go on a rabbit hunting competition and I could not hit a single thing with my bow. But I went back and played it all the way through and it’s mostly incredible
Got the same deal for One X and it's pretty cool. Definitely more of a medieval sim than Oblivion or Skyrim.

The game is CPU bound. If your CPU is weak you get like 10 fps inside towns.
Shouldn't be an issue these days, but yeah back when it was released there were people were still on sandybridges.
Locked to 30fps. Play on PC if you can.

this game had some of the best quests in an rpg game of this type. but 1 or two of the quests were also very bad.
