I had a great time, maybe because my expectations were so low it surprised me. I didn't played the game on release so that could be it. The current 1.25 fixed many problems about the game

Yeah, I agree. She feels broken, even her strongest attacks barely do any damage.
She has a skill that any item she uses affects everyone in your team. So I guess she could be the healer of the team. I never found myself ever using it and she doesn't have any other skills like that so idk

Chondra is one of the most broken party members but you are NEVER meant to use her actual attacks because it takes too fricking long. Just buy the cheapest weapons and have her use the "throw item" move it''s insanely broken. The only truly useless party member is Michael.

It's an interesting game with a moronic story but the amount of padding/grinding is insane
imagine mario and luigi (or mario rpg) style mini game super attacks, but the minigames are shit.
also - the final stretch of the game is stupid and the creator changed it before release because his mom died apparently
People misunderstand the dev on this, the ending was always going to be "Alex fricks up and fails the end", what was changed is there used to be a delusional happy ending that's still hidden in the game somehow and the current ending was much more negative in tone toward the player.
I believe the lighthouse "glitch" ending is going to probably be the focus of the dlc since the trailer and imagery has the lighthouse in it

This guy makes advertisements for the game and his girlfriend cheated on him.
I'm sure there's a good game somewhere in the DNA of Yiik but it's truly fascinating how bad it is. Writing is awful, characters are either paper thin or infuriating, combat is tedious, the story is pretentious and full of exposition and the plot initially centers around an expy of Elisa Lam, a real woman that died and the game makes several other references to her death like mentioning the mystery of her being found dead in a water tower or how the expy gets a grave that Aeris grieves in front of. Also there's the grave for Satoru Iwata which is pretty weird too. Not only that but the creators make multiple references to their previous game that was very poorly received, the main character wears a shirt with that game's main character on it through the whole game. Yiik tries to be Earthbound, Persona, Paper Mario and Final Fantasy but the devs of Yiik simply lack the talent or skills of the devs of those games. They should have tried to make something simple and fun but instead they made Yiik. I'll give them credit though, they managed to make a truly memorable game.
