>have to pay money for P2P with netcode on par with games from the mid 90s
/thread
It's damn depressing, it's up there with paying a monthly fee to have functioning heating in a fricking car. It feels like a parody from some dystopian 80s movie but it's real.
>Metroid Prime remaster >Pikmin 1 and 2 remaster >Mario Sunshine locked to 3D all stars
At most, we'll get a couple more remasters and maybe them dumping WW and TP's Wii U ports, but at this point, it's probably more profitable to just re-sell their gamecube games.
I don't know why people think reselling GameCube games is that profitable for Nintendo. These GameCube ports sell like shit. Metroid prime is considered the best GameCube game and it only sold 1 million. 1 fricking million. Nintendo takes a shit and that shit will sell 3 million copies.
Sticking them on NSO would be way more profitable.
>Sticking them on NSO would be way more profitable
Why? They already have everyone by the balls with NSO anyway. What good would adding to that rental service do them? It's why releases have trickled down to a paltry crawl. They know they don't have to even try, the masses won't question and will buy in regardless.
Around 40m out of around 110m active users are subscribed to NSO, they can do way better. And also, that 40m is mostly the cheapo 20 dollar version. If they want to sell the 50 they need something shiny.
I think what Nintendo will do with the next console is just get rid of the 20 dollar version and have one 50-60 dollar service with GameCube games and later DS added in.
That's what I'd assume. And I don't think they'll be putting anything past N64 on it any time soon. They see those games as easy $60 port fodder. They'll continue to dripfeed what they can beneath that and I wouldn't be surprised if we never see DS simply because they think it'd be too hard to deal with the second screen.
There are two easy solutions to the second screen for DS
Option A) just stick the two screens on one screen like with emulators
Option B) stream to the dock like a reverse Wii U
For what? They charge you for your own internet to use shitty p2p in games that utilize online horribly. Nintendo can eat shit for pulling this garbage.
Charging you for your own internet, especially in full priced and predominantly online multiplayer games like splatoon, is evil. Taking away the vc and not allowing you to transfer your digital library so they could force this rental service on you unless you want to sail the seven seas is evil.
I stopped paying for it years ago and pirated TOTK it sucked bad game for how long it was in the oven especially and how Nintendo is trying to patent the mechanics it does poorly frick them I'm over it they can make good games if they want my money and they haven't made one in years now
Waiting for Kirby and the Amazing Mirror to show up since I got a family plan for my 3 friends and I to play it. Once that drops, then yeah, sorry I guess.
Its pretty shit but the family option makes it the best if you split it with 7 friends. Watching them slowly drip feed us roms is pretty fricking shit.
yeah it is nice to be able to play older games with multiplayer. Not that you can't emulate games and play them with others or anything, it's just a million times easier through the online service
It sucks that majority of posters here would complain but would still throw their money down for the services.
Vote for your wallets. Make it hurt for Sony. Tell them enough is enough. The more people cancel their PS+/NSO/Xbox Live + Game Pass. The sooner we get back to normalcy on regular free online access for gaming.
Only have this so I can play online occasionally, like in Mario Maker or Mario Kart. Most played online game is Smash followed by Splatoon 3. The Switch Mario Tennis game is highly underrated.
for what? charging people for online is horrible
It's easily the best value online sub package out there which isn't saying much but still
>yearly premium subscription for fricking DLC
no it's not a good value
/thread
Approaching any compliment to a paid online plan is inexcusable bootlicking, simple as that

There's nothing to apologize for, if people want to spend money on roms and bad online it's up to them.
>have to pay money for P2P with netcode on par with games from the mid 90s
When they give me Mario Party 3
>those 2~3 guys just repeating "it's for NSO guys, guys it's for NSO!" over and over again in the other Mario Wonder thread
Talk about desperation.
No. It's not terrible but doesn't deserve an apology yet.
Not until they add Gamecube games, the rest of the N64 games, and Smash servers that work.
As opposed to?

The real way they can combat emulation
>Adds online DRM checks to apps, updates and DLC content
No it is terrible
People are bored and time is going slow
Now Nintendo will follow suit with what Sony does like they always do and increase their next console's paid online to $40
Joy!
shitendo Black folk deserve it anyway

>pay money to play a game you already bought on a console you already bought with internet you already paid for
Id rather laugh at them again
you know two things can be simultaneously bad right anon?
There are different degrees of badness. Nintendo is being a dick, Sony is being evil.
They're both being dickishly evil.
Charging 20 dollars for a NES, SNES and gameboy emulator is not evil, it's just not ideal. Charging 80 dollars for saints row is evil.
Nintendo online is $5 if you’re part of a family plan…

I pay $10 a year for NSO + Expansion Pack. I was always on board. Yes paying for online is bs but oh well, and Virtual Console gays are mentally ill.

Based, best 4-player Kirby game that's not Air Ride

tendies, so desperate for a win are defending paid online lmao.
consoles really managed to get people to pay twice for their own internet and get them to shill it
It sucks that majority of posters here would complain but would still throw their money down for the services.

Being the new least shitty [thing] does not make your turd any less soggy, homosexual.
Nope, and not planning to. Frick the expansion tier too, they knew they were pushing it yet did that anyways.
Frick no. You want me to pay for shitty internet?
Only have this so I can play online occasionally, like in Mario Maker or Mario Kart. Most played online game is Smash followed by Splatoon 3. The Switch Mario Tennis game is highly underrated.
The fact they had audacity to charge extra for fricking N64 games is a crime in itself.
