I think a good party member for L4D3 could be Chad who is a jacked tank-like white boy (much like how we know Coach would be a boomer) and he would be cool and superficially outgoing but also kind of a gymcel, awkward around weapons and machinery and the girl character, etc but still overall likeable enough kind of like how Francis is annoying but fine.
my l4d3 ideal:
starts in canadian maritimes, heads through quebec then into new england searching for rescue in boston
survivors:
35-ish newfoundland man, used to be a fisherman but his boat got repossessed. halfway between a stereotypical scotsman and a stereotypical canadian. loves the queen, hates the government, simple as. short, angry, and disappointed to be sober.
30-ish french canadian woman. vet but acts like a doctor. blonde smug but caring. teases newfie.
40-ish indian. actually an office drone (like louis) but always looked up to the noble savage archetype. is summoning all he learned in boy scouts and from westerns to act like a nature-connected wise shaman. sometimes breaks character for comedic effect.
20-ish midwestern boy who was on vacation. bit of a nerd. his brother's in the navy stationed in boston and says he can get immune people out on a submarine.
My favorite situational strat for this is >Dead Center chapter 2 >Tank spawns at the highway area after the start >Survivors retreat through the building back up to the start area >climb up and run behind them, smack them with the car as they run through the door
always feels good coming from behind as tank. only works against mid players. new players will go head first into the tank and die, mid players know the importance of retreating and will make a mad rush for it but won't consider the possibility of the tank intercepting them

i have 8k hours in this game, played since launch and i still get kicked. sometimes it's after a genuine mistake i made but at least half the time it's players who don't understand what's going on. my favorite one is getting yelled at for always being the one to take damage or go down and it's often because it takes them twice as long to save me when i'm pinned as it takes me to save them
Throw rocks from max range while waiting for my shithead teammates to respawn, only for them to run in 1 by 1 and die without doing anything. Then it turns out that the survivors had four fricking molotovs and so I have to just run in and only get a few hits in before I go down. Then complain that we should scramble the teams for the next round.
