I would but frankly my 2024 will probably be focused on Terraria with the occasional Dragon's Dogma 2 playthrough. The modded scene for Terraria is unreal and it's motivating me to get into it myself. I see it as a good excuse to get back into drawing and for improving my art skills.

how come starbound failed where terraria succeeded?

        Anonymous

        >Terraria
You spend your time on one world with many biomes, and make progress through gearing up from various sources and chasing down different bosses. Gear is somewhat varied with many hybrid or specialized options; alternative sets exist for niche weapons or playstyles. Building a town has intrinsic gameplay benefits required to access certain features. The game also came out basic but then pushed out larger-scoped updates over years.

        >Starbound
You hop between many largely disposable, mono-biome planets and follow a questline that happens to follow the game's ore progression model between all of them. Weapons run off the same resource regardless and your armor only concerns your pool of it vs. damage vs. health. There is little incentive to build beyond vanity reasons due to the use of personal spacecraft and a hub to house any of the player's needs. The game spent a lot of time dicking around in early access and was also outright indecisive about certain game mechanics, while updates were very meager.

Anyone with a backlog is an impulsive spender. i don't care what you frickers say to justify it. You aren't saving any money by buy something you'll never play.

I've been doing it for the last 3 years, down to one dollar indie shovelware I bought on Steam because it looked interesting

After 3 years, I beat close to 100 games, there's around 25 of them left now, which is doable for this year, since this year the only new game I care about is DD2.

After clearing all these games, idk man, I'll just stop playing for a while, most people don't finish such a huge amount of vidya in their lifetime and I'm doing it in like 4 years.

I played some absolute classics thoughever, thanks to finally moving through the 'log, KOTOR 1/2 and DMC 1/3 are unfathomably good, I get why Ganker says everything went to shit after 2007, it's a bit of a exageration but I see where they're coming from.

      >Anyone with a backlog is an impulsive spender
Absolutely correct, I'm a moron with money

        >100 games
        >such a huge amount
I keep track of every game I've beaten in a database and I'm close to 800 now. 100 aint shit

I rounded it down, it was 30 to 35 games a year, which is like one game every 1.5 to 2 weeks, I'm full time employed AND play other games on the side, mostly replaying RPGs with different builds, so compared to your average normalgay, I beat a lot of games

My backlog is all replaying games I haven’t played in years mostly via emulators; won’t spend a cent. Don’t have the time to do it all and when it comes down to it would rather play ac6 or whatever than replay clock tower or silent hill

Agree the people that buy up every game they can on steam or PlayStation or whatever even though they’ll never launch 95% of it are morons

I'm already going through it, I got into creative writing in 2023 and it took out most of my time. Now I'm playing vidya again.

Yes, MMOs and competitive multiplayer games will eat your time. I beat around 60 games in 2023.

    Super easy, idiots.

    1. Pick a system
    2. ONLY PLAY THAT SYSTEM UNTIL BACKLOG IS DONE FOR SYSTEM
    3. FRICKING REPEAT
