Having the camera movements be separate from the actual cross hair and turn speed of your character in video games has been a thing on PC forever.
The previous games were all console exclusive and not a single one of them has hard lock.

Soft lock is still strong as frick against them. there are games with similarily fast or even teleporty bosses with zero lock-on mechanics and they work just fine (ex: sisyphus prime)

If you want to use hard lock you just press middle button and stop moving your mouse. It's that easy. I know that's a little counterintuitive, but this series has usually had nonstandard controls. Not that it actually is impossible to use kicks without hardlock. I sometimes do. but you can have the game aim for you.

I don't remember having that problem, so I went back to try it on the arena fights. I didn't lose the lock from using any of my 5 mouse buttons. If you guys are losing your locks all the time, you are moving your mouse involuntarily.
As someone who's played previous installments, up to Project Phantasma, the controls in this series are still designed for pads despite K+M being so accessible now. That's why I didn't pick AC6 up; it's still the same experience. ACs don't really feel like giant robots just platforms with weapons that bounce around.

I don't think you really need Alula since reverse joints let you do quick jumps to help with boosts, so you can go with something that gives you more power with slower reload time.
None of the boosters I have or can buy have higher thrust atm, I just started chapter 3. Only non weight or energy tradeoff I can get is upwards thrust as far as I see, you mean get something like that?
You don't need to look for upwards thrust/quick boost reload time since you got reverse joints, I personally use these for faster speed, I think these have the highest thrust

How do I play melee? I spend a lot of combat airborne and find that even when I'm able to close the gap on a staggered enemy I often whiff by swinging over their head.
melee cancel, quick boost before the melee animation and it will still do the melee boost but you will be able to melee again once you hit it again. However it still consumes EN so if you run out it will lock you into melee
for pulse/laser sword animation cancel if you wanna stagger with the sword. There is essentially two types of melee that are differentiated by what move you’ll use 99% of the time. Pulse sword, twin laser blades, moonlight/redline, and plasma whip don’t have good charge attacks and you’ll never use them. Laser sword, pile bunker, chainsaw, and laser lance are almost always used for the charge attack.
People dedicated to melee use something with a short re-charge and multi-hits, like the laser dagger or even stun baton.
Laser Sword is more like a "melee gay frick off" weapon.

I personally like the colors. You could make the black parts sliiightly (really, not by much) lighter so it's very dark grey instead. Also unsure about the color slots on those shoulder weapons but you could introduce a bit more of either the silver or the black there too, the sides feel a bit too orange

Went for grey/white as a base and then upped the luster/shine to max on all parts. You gotta tinker with the color pallete a little to get it right but I think the end result looks good.

There's a small buffer of ~300 units you can go over your booster weight limit before it tanks your Boost Speed too.

there's two things I want From to rip directly out of DxM for a sequel to AC6:
Customizable training arena with multiple targets, terrain and more to swap in and out
Customizable HUD that's a return to older AC titles
Everything else can rot in that game for all I care, but those two were some of the greatest I've seen in the genre.

Gatling sucks outside of close range and being heavy, it can't be on a build that gets in close range super easily, you can kite it with Harris or most "good" weapons. Needle Cannon is already in S tier.

Even in AC1 the Raven's Nest AI is basically just a dictator that doesn't like anything that falls outside of its calculations because it's already decided the optimum path for humanity. I've never used hardlock and I played the entire game on m/kb. Maintaining a lock on IBIS has never been an issue for me either. I was genuinely surprised when I saw all the posts on Ganker about how mouse seems hard to use. You can move your reticle effortlessly wherever you want, it feels great. Hardlock is probably better in the sense of forcing your view to always track without input from the player, but I like softlock more.
For me, KB/M feels fricking weird in third person. I'll try it when I try out the first person mod.

Quick turns are great to follow spastic shit but I still don't know how to use them well, feels like there're some sort of cooldown before I can use quick turn again
Also, just in case you thought a quick turn is just moving your ac towards the other direction, it's the one who also moves your camera as your ac changes direction, like how you would if you used a side booster in the old games
You don't use hard lock with mkb, that shit is designed for you not to touch the camera unless some fricks is able to escape your view
Even with controller, you can use quick turn to orientate your camera quickly

I fought the wheels before but I haven't had that much trouble probably because it wasn't just empty arena. My FCS couldn't even keep up with those other drones that looked like ACs.
I just went songbird, 2x aperitif and pilebunker.
And even those aperitif missiles could barely keep up.
If you just stand still with grenade launchers and let them come to you they'll all die in one shot because they don't dodge. Easiest S rank ever once I realized that.

I don't really watch streamers much and mostly just stick to highlight videos but there's 1 streamer I sometimes watch the first 5 or 10 odd minutes of full streams for and in her chat some people convinced her to use a controller for armored core, which alright I disagree with but whatever I have seen a handful of people here say controller is better too. But then the next game she did was Starfield and they managed to convince her of the same fricking thing, how do you look at what in the core of the gameplay is first person shooter and tell somebody to use a controller, she was quickly remarking on her inability to actually hit the metal deposits she was trying to mine

I've never heard of mech games being so widely loved until armored core 6. But apparently everyone loves them and are flocking to this game. Same with Baldur's Gate 3. A game and genre that few people ever play yet somehow CRPGs are incredibly popular. Is every game that comes out no matter the genre extremely popular now?
