Ame seems to be the strongest by far, but I haven't unlocked Fauna or Hakos yet.

Ina is the strongest for Endless
Hakos is a weird one where her super lets her use every weapon you've got unlocked at no cooldown and has skills that multiplies critical damage, it's very chance based.
Fauna is OP if you get a good set of weapons since her starter is dog shit. Get her 3 skills ASAP since the giant tree root skill happens every time you heal. Whisper gives you a healing aura that negates an attack but if it's not been used it heals you every 2 seconds. Then her third skill changes enemies into saplings which if picked up heal her. Her special spawns a healing circle and gives her invincibility for 10 seconds. Get some good weapons and time your special and you've got a good run on your hands.
Holocure or Vampire Survivor?
Holoocure has better gameplay but it lacks the content of VS
if the guys behind it ever update it, then there's no contest
The issue is Holocure is free (and it won't ever be paid due to IP) so lack of content might be a real issue.
There is a kind of roadmap already, next update adds more characters

I mean you say this but look at Sonic, if you have a dedicated enough person to the IP they'll whip out something that's high quality despite being free. Plus it's not like it's some starving artist type, he's an established artist and creator so money woes isn't a problem.
Just because the game is free doesn't mean it has less content, there are plenty of paid games that are garbage for content and plenty of free games that have tons of content. I expect this game will keep getting updated and it'll be like "Why the frick is everyone else trying to charge for this when this game is free and better"

As people have mentioned multiple times in these threads, it's more engaging and has better characters, weapons and mechanics than VS. The common criticism I've heard is that it's slower.
However, it's just a demo for now, and with future updates it will easily grow grow not only better but much bigger than VS, since Hoe-girlve is a treasury of content.
Since you're not into vtubers you will obviously miss some references, or will be puzzled as to why certain characters have abilities that they have. But that shouldn't have any impact on your enjoyment of the gameplay.

Entirely possible but not likely. It's incredibly rare for fans to be hired officially for this kind of thing. The other thing is organizing profit cuts which is something that can go south very fricking quickly. It's better it remains as a high profile fan game than it is become truly official on those grounds alone. It's not like he's hurting for money either. So he has the freedom to do this and on his own time.
Cover cuts corners all the time and never spend more money than they have to so I doubt they would ever pay money for a game when the guy is willing to make it for free.
You think it's unique to Cover? There's a reason Sonic Mania caused a huge fuss, Sega actually bothered to hire Taxman, Stealth and others for it. It was so out of left field it caught everyone's attention because it never happens in general because it's an extra expense they probably don't care too much about spending since it's already free and costing them nothing.
I think Sega has just become more open to that kind of thing in general because they also hired fans for Streets of Rage 4. Sega finally realized that their employees suck and they have to bring in outside talent to make actual good games.

That kinda makes tarantula, cutting board, the song and BL book second-rate weapons, doesn't it? Unless you're aiming for their specific collabs. But are those any better than the alternative the second weapon has?

I'd assume so but I can only guess since I'm not the dev. It'd make sense though since you'd want to have more collabs reference more members. It seems like a basic assumption to make.
All the weapons are specific references to Hoe-girlve lore, none of them are generic weapons.
I know, by generic I just meant weapons that can be used by any character. But the point you brought up is actually a reason for concern.
Since those weapons and items are based on certain holomen's memes, what will they use when they're finally playable? Sure, there are tonns of Hoe-girlve memes, so it'll work out somehow. But then sometimes it makes you doubt if it was the best use of them. For example, Sui-chan's axe is a generic. Then what will her primary weapon be when she's released?
Also, I think in addition to intra-character meme overlaps, there might be some inter-character overlaps. Like, Fana's passive makes enemies drop a consumable on death, a sapling. This sounds like a perfect mechanic for Korone, whose viewers give away their yubis. But this mechanic has already been utilized by a previously released character.
Well, I think, while the devs did a good job keeping the characters' unique abilities, well, unique so far, it can't be helped that in the future we'll see some overlaps, since there are so many people in Hoe-girlve now.

Shifting numerical buffs between stats changes nothing conceptually. It's still the same mechanic - "enemies drop consumable on death, which you pick up for a buff to your stats". Well, as I said, the overlaps are probably inevitable. I just think maybe they could've come up with something different for Fauna, more signature to her streams. Well, not like I watch her often, so what do I know. Maybe have drop superchats on death lol.
There's more than HP in terms of stats Anon and the system can work differently but have the same inherent effect.

Plus it'll depend on the other skills. Fauna's skill for example is more attributed to being used in conjunction with her other skill which gives the piercing tree route on heal. Her main build is centered around constant healing. That doesn't suit the more violent minded Korone so even if it heals her the other skills will be divergent enough to make her unique and not be a defense/heal type

I tried it out a couple hours ago. It's surprisingly fun. It does a few things better than Vampire Survivors imo. Hopefully it gets regular content updates quickly.
The more the holomems play it, the more updates it will get. Surprisingly a large number of viewers want to watch it.

She's not actually that flat in the official swimsuit art. The vast majority of Hoe-girlve girls are very well endowed, and seem to only be getting bigger with every new model update. The number of actual pettankos is rather small.

Probably stage, since you get a clear bonus. Endless is for spending coins on weapon upgrades, to get high score, not for farming.

I was making a joke. Anyway, I figured you meant Mumei. She's neither a ninja not a tanuki. She has a bird theme to her design, more specifically owl. Which you've actually noticed, since she uses feathers as her primary.
Anyway, people say she's OP, and I must say, yeah, her skills seem pretty darn strong. A lot of passive damage stacking with zero effort from the player.
By the way, the name Nanashi Mumei is the coolest name ever because it means "Nameless Nameless."

I'm probably the only person who likes Mori's weapon, I think the deadzone makes it more interesting to use.
Do people even use the primary weapon after the first few minutes of a run? With all that AoE damage going on, I don't have time to be aiming manually, I just run around collecting exp. Wider swings even act as extra AoE in this case.
Maxing the main weapon "awakens" it giving it a huge power buff

Not really. The genius of this game is that runs have a hard cap of 20 minutes. So even if you play your very best you'll be getting a bite sized experience. A lot better than something like LoL where matches can drag on an entire fricking hour while being boring as frick.
