I just realized that Darnassus will probably be the main Alliance city in SoD, given its proximity to Ashenvale and BFD. It'll be neat to see the city actually populated for once.

Shuffle some stats/mechanics around and limit the kinds of info addons have access to. That's it. Turn numbers off. For everyone. Make it unparsable. The spreadsheet zombies will leave the moment they can't be at the top of whatever list they are currently a part of.
Just color-code damage with a spark or a flash. Yellow for light hits, orange for medium, and red for heavy. Zero numbers on damage, on gear, on stats. The game just works it out for you behind the scenes.

My old guildmates might be down just to enjoy any/all of the new raids with no raid WAs (heavily assuming the esport/world first hardcore trannies who destroyed retail dont design boss fights), but how is anyone going to find a guild of players who aren't braindead who will do this?

It's a decently executed version of the fundamentally dull system we've had for years. Flying is great however, an objective improvement all round. Seriously hope they don't cave to the 500lbs blubberbeasts demanding the return of "real flying" so they can AFK and eat hot pockets.

hopium is low, the new starsurge rune is mega dogshit probably never used and sunfire is okay.
meta dps for balance in P1 is gonna be Sunfire, Moonfire, Wrath x6 repeat.
their idea being starsurge being buffed by talents is "good in theory" but they should have remembered that balance druid talents are notoriously bad and barely even buff their own spells. they need to make base damage on druid spells BIG to make them any good imo. This is just one example and has a longer cool down (30 seconds) than starsurge but it does basically 8x the damage.
Lava burst does 240ish damage and will always crit with a flame shock which is basically guaranteed to be on them already. (8 second CD 2 second cast time)
Chaos bolt does almost 280 damage, never miss or resist, (12 second CD, 2 second cast)
If they buffed starsurge to even like 85-105 it would be "decent" but right now it's actually just a debuff since it makes you stop casting free, stronger wraths, and spends mana so you are no longer in mana per 5 rule regen.
I would rather take this than starsurge in P1 and probably P2. They need to rework that rune big time. It should extend dot times or do more damage the more dots are on a target. 3 dots? 3x the damage. The wrath talent doesn't even buff it at all ffs

Priest runes are so underwhelming, the class is gonna play out the exact same as it always has. They could have at least thrown a bone to Smite priest or some type of light-based DPS build
Without a change to downranking, which to be clear I am not advocating for, priest will always play the same in vanilla wow pve. Without either that or a flat out nerf you're too efficient to not spam flash heal rank 1.
But priests in pvp are looking great.

I feel like if they wanted another healer class Warlocks would've made more sense thematically (Make runes that allow Health Funnel and Soul Link to be used on friendly players, which will require a greater reliance on Drain Life and Siphon Life to keep yourself alive while spending your health to keep the rest of the party alive). Then again, they're already getting a tank spec, so I can see why they wouldn't want to give Warlocks healing too.

Druid was already a better world PvP class if you had a high skill cap and liked fricking with people more than once every 5 mins. Literally why play a rogue if feral does similar damage and can do caster/bear utility? I also have played druid/paladin to 60 on vanilla btw, i like playing hybrids. They are going to be so OP its insane. ima make a paladin, then either a druid alt or a warrior alt, not sure. rogue looks like total ass, its insane. If the later lvl runes arent better for them no one will play except a few memers trying to make rogue tank work.

rogue gap closing isnt that much better, classes that kite got better kiting abilities. Rogues lost the runes arms race for 25. maybe it will be better at later levels. but 25 is going to be a disaster for rogues.

No rogues are doing pretty good, slaughter from the shadows is sick and the gap closers are exactly what they need at 25. Ranged kidney + backstab spam will kick ass.

It's a decently executed version of the fundamentally dull system we've had for years. Flying is great however, an objective improvement all round. Seriously hope they don't cave to the 500lbs blubberbeasts demanding the return of "real flying" so they can AFK and eat hot pockets.

hopium is low, the new starsurge rune is mega dogshit probably never used and sunfire is okay.
meta dps for balance in P1 is gonna be Sunfire, Moonfire, Wrath x6 repeat.
their idea being starsurge being buffed by talents is "good in theory" but they should have remembered that balance druid talents are notoriously bad and barely even buff their own spells. they need to make base damage on druid spells BIG to make them any good imo. This is just one example and has a longer cool down (30 seconds) than starsurge but it does basically 8x the damage.
Lava burst does 240ish damage and will always crit with a flame shock which is basically guaranteed to be on them already. (8 second CD 2 second cast time)
Chaos bolt does almost 280 damage, never miss or resist, (12 second CD, 2 second cast)
If they buffed starsurge to even like 85-105 it would be "decent" but right now it's actually just a debuff since it makes you stop casting free, stronger wraths, and spends mana so you are no longer in mana per 5 rule regen.
I think I'm gonna wait for phase 2 before I level a druid unless they've done some big changes in these last few weeks before release.
I would rather take this than starsurge in P1 and probably P2. They need to rework that rune big time. It should extend dot times or do more damage the more dots are on a target. 3 dots? 3x the damage. The wrath talent doesn't even buff it at all ffs

I feel like if they wanted another healer class Warlocks would've made more sense thematically (Make runes that allow Health Funnel and Soul Link to be used on friendly players, which will require a greater reliance on Drain Life and Siphon Life to keep yourself alive while spending your health to keep the rest of the party alive). Then again, they're already getting a tank spec, so I can see why they wouldn't want to give Warlocks healing too.

Druid was already a better world PvP class if you had a high skill cap and liked fricking with people more than once every 5 mins. Literally why play a rogue if feral does similar damage and can do caster/bear utility? I also have played druid/paladin to 60 on vanilla btw, i like playing hybrids. They are going to be so OP its insane. ima make a paladin, then either a druid alt or a warrior alt, not sure. rogue looks like total ass, its insane. If the later lvl runes arent better for them no one will play except a few memers trying to make rogue tank work.

rogue gap closing isnt that much better, classes that kite got better kiting abilities. Rogues lost the runes arms race for 25. maybe it will be better at later levels. but 25 is going to be a disaster for rogues.
No rogues are doing pretty good, slaughter from the shadows is sick and the gap closers are exactly what they need at 25. Ranged kidney + backstab spam will kick ass.

There's no way they're keeping spell batching. SoM first removed it, Era lost it at some point, and HC never had it. It was a novelty in 2019 but no one wants it back. Things are still buggy enough as-is.

It's even worse than that, this shit will be capped at 25 for months, which means everyone will be in Ashenvale for months doing the pvp event and then next phase of SoD is not 60 either.. it's 40 then in phase 3 which will probably be in like 5-6 months from now it will be 50 and THEN 60.
I would have actually tried SoD out if it released with all the planned content and level 60 being the max level, at least that's a game. What we get is literally an alpha
