The only armor you can take is one or two pices that are randomized like borderlands loot, it's not stripping your enemies naked of what they are weaing like in TES or Fallout
>it's not stripping your enemies naked of what they are weaing like in TES or Fallout
But plenty of enemies in Skyrim and Oblivion wore nonplayable armor.
It's been ages since I played Oblivion but the only enemy I immediately think of in Skyrim is the DB assassin, and there's at least a clear logic of wanting to restrict their gear to doing their questline to make it feel more special. I'm sure there are other examples but would bet they have similar reasoning behind them, a far cry from basic bandit/pirates having restricted loot.
>But plenty of enemies in Skyrim and Oblivion wore nonplayable armor.
Only happens for a few unique characters, like Nocturnal's dress, and some specific characters among factions, like Greybeard robes.
Anything else can be looted, that's the entire fricking point.
Who gives a frick about Bethesda games without mods?
Do seriously people them without mods?
EVERYTHING can be fixed
EVERYTHNG, it will be fixed and improved, as all the previous titles
You will not only strip them naked, you will fricking revive them, enslave them, rape them and then bring them to a relay to sell them or harvest their organs.
The reason I stopped playing Skyrim is because it becomes an inventory management game, which is fricking annoying. Hopefully there is far less shit to loot in starfield
>looting credits off of bodies
youd think credits would be an entirely digital currency that cant be looted off a corpse.
looting credits from corpses should only come with a hacking skill of sorts.
Yeah. Autistic geeks actually thinking about game design and what makes sense. Actually extending the logic of their game and considering possibilities. Being able to solve problems in interesting ways.
you'd think credits come from credit cards, instead of looting debits you should be looting actual credit cards with credit limits. Looks like this Black person has just $77 before they hit their CC max.
It makes more sense to issue tokens which can be validated offline for a currency than a centralized authority verifying all transactions across 100s of light years.
You can imagine some kind of quantum resistant algorithm is used to generate each token, those tokens get spent in the economy generally and it can be quickly validated with another algorithm without needing to consult whoever minted the credits to determine their authenticity.
Bitcoin/crypto has a public ledger, which means all transactions are known and public and much of the processing power is dedicated to keeping that ledger consistent across the entire network. Without the public ledger you can create a digital currency which functions the same as cash.
The questions is why would you trust that type of currency? Well whoever the issuer is (United Colonies? Earth? etc.) would have to make the currency redeemable for some kind of good or service. It makes sense therefore that maybe the United Colonies has a space fuel mining colony and refinery where issued currency is redeemable for space fuel. It's in the United Colonies' interest to maintain this system because they profit through seigniorage and have an institutional demand for their resources. It's in most people's interest to accept and use the credits because it's redeemable for a commodity everyone needs.
If you work at Bethesda, yes you can steal this lore and pretend you made it up.
>drifter >settler >bandit >raider
generic names are best for generic npcs
I would love it if there were was a mix of cartels, gangs, and eventually extremist groups that use criminal activity as funding. You'd get quests from either an outpost that still has intel or capturing a raider ship.
In all honesty though, this all would be in a DLC along with some shitty railroaded storyline where you can't side the with extremist or join a gang.
Yes, I did that when I was way over the weight limit in FO4, I took some raider's head and dumped in 20 weapons+armors and took it to Diamond city so I could sell, then I just grabbed it all before entering the city and slow walked for a bit to the vendors.
Based and same here, looting npc armour was one of the things I enjoyed most about previous Bethesda games. It was fun and helped add that little extra bit of immersion. Not going to play until someone releases a mod that implements it.

In the middle ages, low rank soldiers commonly upgraded their weapons and armor by looting their enemies.
I think the explaination is self explanatory. Its not realistic to rip off another persons space suit and stuff it in your pack. Pieces sure but not the whole thing. Also Bethesda probably didn't want to create animations for bodies either freezing in no atmosphere planets or burning up on hot ones. Lastly less naked bodies = Lower Rating
>I think the explaination is self explanatory. Its not realistic to rip off another persons space suit and stuff it in your pack
Except you can see one of the random loot drop items is LITERALLY a space suit you dumb moron
Its all bullshit randomised shit.
I fricking WISH we would be able to loot pieces of armor from corpses and mix and match them on our characters.
But in typical Bethesda fashion, we'll probably just have: >Suit >Helmet
When we should have every piece of clothing from boots, gloves, accessories to the suit, suit aspects, etc. They should all be customizable in game
>realism that's never been a factor before >laziness >the notion that they'd be naked instead of wearing default underwear like in prior games
Why are people so desperate to defend objective downgrades with such flimsy excuses? You're not gonna lose the fricking war of public opinion on this game you're hyped for if you dare concede a single point against it.
The direct literally showed being able to loot a spacesuit after stabbing someone and that is their inventory, numbnuts. It's the Fo4 version rather than the dogshit skyrim version that takes up your whole screen.
The more choices given to the player the more they have to spend time thinking about it. Todd doesn't want you thinking he wants you PLAYING. I'm surprised the game even has looting in the first place and not some auto-loot bullshit.
what do you think TRANSFER (X) means?
hint: literally the same thing it does in Fallout 4: it pauses the game and opens the inventory in fullscreen so you can transfer items back and forth with more control

That's the lamest low-effort consolized UI masquerading as "minimal sci-fi" I've ever seen. I'm not even going to pirate it until a SkyUI mod equivalent is released.
Shame on Howard for not insisting on PC-exclusive QoL features. I mean if a single dude could make SkyUI and fix the atrociously bad default Syrim UI, why can't Howard? Because he doesn't care and he doesn't have to that's why.
All of your screenshots are the quick-loot menu, you're still able to open the full menu by pressing the X button like

stop telling lies
It's a balance decision, not a downgrade Black person. I dont know if it's a good decision or not, but stop trying this hard to find fault when you dont actually know wether it works out to be a good or a bad thing in the context of game balance.
I hate homosexuals like you who pre-determined that everything about the game will be bad/good and then everything is a downgrade/upgrade even if you can't actually know yet
are you moronic? of course a singleplayer game needs to be balanced >a fricking bethesda game
Yeah and anon was specifically complaining that it was unlike previous bethesda games, so which is it? Should it be like them or not?
>in bethesda RPGs you can usually loot all the armor an enemy is wearing >in other RPGs this is less common, most of them have drop tables rather than making enemies give you everything they have every time
So since it's not a matter of balance, does this mean every other RPG is just a downgrade from bethesda games?
>you can't loot armor off of your dead enemies and leave them naked in starfield
This is a good thing. Being able to strip corpses bare and stuff it all in your backpack along with 100 other sets of armor and weapons was immersion breaking. Better to take just what you need and then walk away
Fallout 4 already tried and failed that: >nonsensical four-way power struggle >overblown weapon modding that both ruins regular weapon variety and nullifies "unique" weapons >survival mode that goes way too autism
Fallout 4 is a remarkably stable game by their standards for sure but the sheer arrogance of disabling normal saving and the console when they're simply sometimes required to get around bugs is wild.
That would seriously suck. One of the appeals of bethesda games is that the player and npcs function similarly, and if you see an enemy wearing cool armor or weapon and kill it you can take their armor and weapon. It was one of the aspects that I missed in outer worlds, I seriously hope bethesda don't regress their design to that level.
>unzip entire vacuum-proof spacesuit in less than a second >stuff it into your pocket with the three other spacesuits you picked up on the way here
very immersive
>I swear you morons will cry about anything.
I guess that's an acceptable retort when you're boasting about "new features" that aren't new, while silently removing old features. People may have too low expectations and it's their fault you can't even meet them.
Do you guys like my changes.
It always infuriated me how you can just loot the armor off corpses in shit games like New Vegas!
Luckily, I am in charge at Bethesda now, so this vile trend will finally stop once and for all.
Not OP but that's not for all the NPCs, right? From what I can tell it's random and that takes away from the fun, imagine there's an NPC whose armour you really want but you can't get it because the RNG said no.
There could be a hundred reasons that they don't appear in some quick loot screens that aren't because it's random moron
For what reason would you think it to be random
Because that's super common in games now? Instead of you having control over loot they RNG it and make a skill you have to unlock to improve your chances of getting the thing you can see on the fricking body you're looting.

You are a fricking moron
You see glimpses of a loot screen and just think random instead of the loot tables not fully complete yet or any other reason
Fricking have a nice day because I don't want to see this stupid thread every day until release because you are such a fricking homosexual moron who needs those yous
are we sure they didn't just hide armor in the quickloot menu and relegate it to the proper loot menu, since looting armor is not something you'd do as often as looting ammo, money and consumables?
I really hope that's the case, but how do you access the "full" menu then? I don't see any indication in those screenshots that it's only showing a "quick" menu.
Like other anons have said, it's a good way to make money by selling them early on. Also I think most people's problem with it is that if an enemy has something that you think looks cool and can be equipped in the game, you should be able to take it off them without RNG.
If you don't like having a bunch of shit or doing inventory management, sell it. Not having the option of getting it in the first place is worse than having to decide what to do with it.
Sounds like shit.
This Is one of the reason I dislike Oblivion, you can't look armor from plains of oblivion Daedra. I think higher lvl you could though. Still shit mechanic.
I don’t know what anyone was expecting, their last single player game was nearly 10 years ago and felt massively dated way back then, things have changed enormously in that timeframe and this shit still looks like it plays and handles very similarly to that. This is an obvious disaster in the making and it’s clear Bethesda just doesn’t give a shit. They’re still using Gamebryo for frick sake and I’ve yet to see a ladder, think about that shit they might not even have fricking ladders, that’s how far behind they are compared to other studios in terms of modern design and thinking.
>armor
Theyre wearing space suits

You can't, in most of the dead enemies they showed, you cannot strip your enemies of all the armor they are wearing like in previous games

Good old fashion space cargo hauling. or whatever other sci-fi magic you need like teleportation, replication or quantum tunneling.

it's a good thing autistic geeks like you aren't in charge of game design

I can't wait to explore a lost alien spaceship and find credits in space chests.

How dare you assume their gender? All clothing should be removable by default.
Sorry, uh, Body type B inclined individual with unassuming chromosomes.
That's called body type B, you chud transphobic sexist!
But why?
They're wearing entire space suits, makes sense that you can't just remove them.
Looting armor is fun and immersive, so it makes sense, you can't do that in Starfield.
Fun sure but immersive? I never felt immersed stripping the armor off of corpses to pawn them off or toss them onto my companions.
Makes sense that you can loot fallen enemies armor to gear up or make money.
It's just hard to balance, so most games won't have it.

Just take them over your shoulders or wear a backpack to stuff them into.

Sorry bro but I held on for as long as I could. I'm a Todd believer now.
They’re still using Gamebryo for frick sake and I’ve yet to see a ladder, think about that shit they might not even have fricking ladders, that’s how far behind they are compared to other studios in terms of modern design and thinking.
ladders between decks in your ship was on the first real trailer
old man still crying about his stupid fricking ladders
Debunked.

Wait really? One of my favorite thing to do in all of modern Fallout were leaving all my enemies only in their underwear. That's really disappointing.
That's actually really interesting. I wonder how it will work in the end.
Don't forget anons, a lot of this shitposting is coming from snoys who are seething because they won't get this game.
Equinox is the armor, though.
