Lookup Microsoft being well-connected to a Mason Morfit, a former board member of Microsoft.
Lookup Mason Morfit, who is buying a ton of Nintendo shares in order to force Nintendo to expand and use up their cash reserve.
Lookup Nintendo recently having to compete with Microsoft to purchase shares in itself to retain a majority.
Lookup Nintendo concerns that they may run out of cash to maintain its majority and then become vulnerable of MS taking a controlling share.
Lookup Nintendo running out of on-hand cash which means they will then have to issue more shares to raise capital to continue operations, further diluting their board of directors controlling stake.

It’s just the basics of a hostile takeover. The next time the Nintendo executives laughs uproariously in the presence of the Xbox team, it will be all the way to the bank.

That's not how it works but top Nintendo employees own the majority of Nintendo stock, many Nintendo adjacent devs have said if they didn't work with or for Nintendo they would stop making game which is something Nintendo de s have said. That being said Nintendo is a historic legacy company of Japan. Any attempt of a hostile take over from Microsoft would likely result in them being blocked from dealing with the country similar to how the jap government requested steam remove their emulation promo [the ad with the Steam Deck that had a tendo emulator on it because emulation is illegal in japan] that made them remove it within a day after they just got deals to export to there. Point is there's tons of reasons this wouldn't happen anyways

morons, to buy a stock someone has to sell that stock. You cant buy majority ownership of a company unless over 50% of stock is being sold by shareholders. For that to happen microsoft must offer shitloads of money to make all those stockholders agree to sell their stock

All buying Twitter did was tie his liquid assets up in an investment that won't actually sell for less than he bought it even if he did ruin it. There are too many businesses who know it's a huge marketing and PR pipeline and, despite all the bots, too many regular users to actually lose value. Sure, there are a lot of Twitter users right now who are changing their profile name to their bluesky or mastodon links to signal that they're done with Twitter, but they're just not actually using those competitors services as much as Twitter. All the doomsayers acting like Musk is actually out any value at this moment are delusional.

And that's the very reason China doesn't weight anything, and will always be a third world shithole just loosely connected to true western prosperity. Why do you think it's GDP is up there with the top dogs, but its stocks market weight is less than 10%? Why do you think it's still a "developing market" (translation : un-investable shithole). Heck, China probably weights less than 5% of the entire stocks market now, considering the sheer stupidity of Winnie the clown and how the Hang (lol) Seng never recovered from its -50%, and never will, each day it's bleeding more and more. At least it will find oil soon enough at this rate.

It isn't shocking, they have wanted to purchase Nintendo for a long time now. It's just that no deal they made to Nintendo has ever appealed to them.
    >What would you bring to the table for us to agree to selling?
    >Uh...A lot of money?
    >We are not in any danger of being unable to support our company. We would likely make any amount of money you would give us in only a few years time or less given our current market share. So I ask again, what would you give us that we would be unable to get ourselves with this company?
They of course, still have not been able to answer this very simple thing, as they have nothing of worth to give to Nintendo executives to make them fork over all rights.

Microsoft has trillion dollar market cap. Nintendo executives would see a windfall after they close the sale. They can easily turn around and start a new electronic company and would be free to enter the market with a fresh start and with ideas swirling in their head with innovations that were held back because of their culture. This can turn into a great thing for them... And for us.

They aren't going to do anything too crazy after the ABK deal. They kind of got burned on that one since they had to make concessions outside the US and it took like 2 years to actually close. Meanwhile, the entire brand stagnated and they really couldn't do much else. I think that and Starfield flopping is why they are getting out of the console business and probably downsizing their gaming side overall. Buy stake in Nintendo? Sure. A lot of companies do capital investments in each other. But they wont outright buy them. I think they may try to sell Rare back to Nintendo though

The Rare catalog. Thats about it.

As other anon said, it would be for Rare's IPs. There are other benefits too such as their experience making games Nintendo can't (Traditional Fighting and Shooting) and could serve as a support studio like Monolith Soft does. As for Microsoft, they are probably right sizing so there will be some sell offs and closures.

Nintendo is way bigger in the gaming industry than Microshit, Microshit legit doesn't have enough money to buy Nintendo without seriously defunding their other businesses like phones and computers, this kind of moronic billshit crops up frm time to time, last time it was Disney, Nintendo always tells them to eat shit and die.

That, and they just spent billions getting ActiBlizz. I doubt they're up for another huge acquisition right now, or for a good while.

Anon, a 1660ti is ps4 tier. The magic about Nintendo emulation is that they are always 1-2 gens behind.

Even then why the frick would they ever attempt the Nintendo deal again only to go "thrid party"

Three companies competing with each other was the perfect balance. The perspective is very grim and japanese companies competing with each other is a hellscape of low effort bullshit as it was in the 90s.

That being said, if microsoft pulls out I hope another US company takes the void. Valve has been toying with it for two decades, I hope they make a console.

      Anonymous

You guys keep saying this but valve still only sell steam decks for few countries. I can't buy one because they won't ship to me. They don't have the same power nintendo or sony does. Maybe an Apple can do it but it will probably be worse than Microsoft.

        Anonymous

It’s the only one who comes to mind because they been practicing for so long. For all we know they probably saw this coming and the Steam Deck is practice. They have the playerbase they have the knowledge and they can make it happen.
Apple irks me. Unless they pull a rabbit out of a hat and a possible iConsole does not suck a bag of dicks, perhaps? They do have the ecosystem and they been trying to break into the triple A space. They need a new OS. Their loyalists would pretty much guarantee whatever product they put out there would sell like hot cakes. Steve Jobs could pull this off but not Tim Apple I think

Just to shed a bit of light in this legend: The microsoft buying nintendo stuff was back in the late 90s. Microsoft was not the behemoth it is today and they wanted Mario in the first Xbox. They tried to partner up with Sega instead.
Not saying that they will buy Nintendo today, or that they should, but they definitely can. Nintendo exists solely in the video game industry and if you have short term memory, they are only one blunder away from opening up their war chest. Remember the 3DS/WiiU days, Satoru Iwata had to take a pay cut and died thinking he ruined his company. They were betting everything on the Switch being the massive hit that it is, but it wasn’t a breeze. They needed a new Wii/DS bad on the switch, and up to this day its a bit debatable. They are not as wienery as they were, or else we would’ve got a switch successor a year ago.

What would happen if the rumors were true and Microsoft XboxP3 decided to bring all big Xbox 1st party to PS5?

    Here's my response:

    1. All long-time Xbox owners would be at a huge disadvantage and would be treated as lower-class citizens by MS. Since Xbox can't play Final Fantasy, Spiderman, Stellar Blade, etc but PS players can play all those and would also play Xbox 1st party games

After so many years waiting for consistent delvery of great exclusives, and enduring hate from PSfaboys and media, Xbox players would feel betrayed and fooled.

    2. Millions of players would abandon the Xbox ecosystem and move to PS because they could play games from both companies

    3. MS would suffer significant loss from all those players who currently pay for Xbox Live and Gamepass

    4. A few extra sales of games on PS can't compare to monthly revenue from Xbox Live/Gamepass and there's no guarantee Xbox 1st party would make good enough sales on PS
(COD on PS and Candy Crush on Mobile already make 100 times more money for MS than any Xbox 1st party would make on PS)

    5. This would result in MS fully abandoning the Xbox console, since players would have no advantage from it (Gamepass is also on PC)

    6. Playstation would become a high-performance console MONOPOLY. which would make Sony even more anti-consumer, raising consoles to $1000 and games to $150 with players having no other option

    7. The consequences of such a terrible (and unnecessary) decision from MS would be disastrous for ALL gamers.
Nobody wants this, except PSzealots and PSfaboy media.

    What I would do:

I would just move away from Xbox

Actually, you can, in fact, make this shit up. They just did. For the billionth fricking time: Nintendo will never sell to an American company. Ever. The fact that you mongoloids eat this bullshit up just shows you have absolutely zero understanding of even the tiniest part of Japanese culture and tradition.
