I bought a PAL copy from Ebay in 2012. I recently tried to play K2 over OPL using the latest version and it gave me audio problems in the first level. So I popped in my disc copy and it still does the same thing. Not sure what's going on there.

You have to do it in something like the nvidia menu or other control panel. Also vsync is reportedly what causes dropped inputs.

It's not about speed, the main gimmick of the games is picking up and using your enemies as weapons and/or extra jumps. The only way to defeat enemies is by throwing other enemies at them. Kind of similar to Kirby but not nearly as braindead easy.

Length is honestly pretty irrelevant. A game can be as short as possible and as long as it's still fun to replay it's good. For example: Metal Gear Rising is $30 and only about 6-7 hours long, but it is still fun to replay it many times, which you have to do to unlock everything anyway.

Spoilers if anyone's curious. In the first game, the father of one of the main characters, which is also the mayor of the town, gets killed by the main villain. The kid eventually learns this and is very devastated. In the second game, you learn that one of the humans that showed up in the first game was actually dreaming up all the thing after he and his family got into a pretty hard car crash that is shown in realistic looking pictures. The new character in the game is supposed to represent his sister trying to get him to wake up- a part of this character looks like the main villain, and when we see her in real life, we see she has huge bandages over the same side of her face. Both parents are dead by the way, and the kids were teenagers at most.

Just replayed Klonoa 2 on my Deck. It's way shorter and easier than I remember. The music and special effects are still impressive though.

As a person who played the first PS version for dozens of laps, I have to say that it is a disappointing remake.
I reaffirmed how sophisticated the first generation was in every corner of the game, including motion, staging, sound, and UX.
The intro movie is especially terrible.

The difficulty level of the boss battle has decreased remarkably, and it has become a null game except for the Gadius battle.
Some points I noticed
・ Longorango Battle: Shock waves do not eliminate small fish enemies
・ Evil Seedoff & Evil Pamela Battle The groove in the center has disappeared
・ Gergbolm battle: Overall slow speed (especially when angry)
・ Balladium battle: Enemy attacks are loose and easy to settle with 4 moves
・ Joker battle: Impression that the difficulty level has not changed much
・ Gadius battle: The speed of the circle is slow and you are not caught in the warp hole.
・ Impression that the difficulty level has not changed much against Nahatum
