My jobs have a mix between casual and not. My DRG is the frog outfit because I think it is funny. Some of mine have full armor, helmet on sets. It all depends on my mood and what I was doing before in the game.
People are dumb. I feel awkward even tanking without my helm toggled on because it just feels stupid to me, like why wouldn't the character in the party that aims to take all the hits wear head protection? I have some casual glams and beach outfits and such too, but I use them when roleplaying and shit like that, not when doing content.

BLM is fun at higher levels but requires skill
BRD is very fun in PVP but feels mediocre to downright awful in PVE depending on the person
SMN can be fun but it's so incredibly simple that it might bore you

You've done all the good job quests. I like the thaumaturge questlines, and Blm is fun at higher levels. Low levels you can do a lot of damage if you learn the rotation. It just changes very often. A pretty different rotation in each level bracket, and it's not quite like other jobs where it's the same rotation but with less filler/finisher buttons.
And then the second set becomes supporting a bunch of corrupt fricks by fighting a righteous rebel. I get that he goes too extreme and is leaning way too hard into the reckless anarchy, but it's such tonal whiplash from the first set of quests to be helping this chick who's simping for the government that brutally executed her family because her brother was a rebel. The bakufu is absolutely one of the evils that Musosai would have expelled with his technique. It would have been more in line with the first set of quests for the WoL to be the lone ronin that wanders in and fricks up the bakufu and the rebels before riding off into the sunset.
The WoL has fricked up better governments for less.
People who shit on ARR or HW have no souls. Personally, I have a lot of fondness, sweet memories, and nostalgia for each expansion. Just all in different ways, whether it's missing the soul and purity of ARR, the fun tanking in HW, spending countless hours in Eureka, or whatever.
I have nostalgia for ShB because I went through the MSQ with a friend and it was fun getting emotional at stuff together. I have the distinct memory of doing Dying Gasp at like 4 AM because neither of us wanted to go to bed when we were that close to the end. And then I have fondness for spending a lot of type during the coof lockdown doing dumb raids and Bozja and shit with friends. I also have some fond memories of Ishgard Restoration and having hoards of people swarming all over doing shit. It and Bozja have the most distinct memories for ShB, so I kind of miss content like that in EW.
My nostalgia for EW is probably going to be because I went through the story with friends, but I dunno if it'll be anything else. A lot of the time the fond memories are born form the social aspect of it being an MMO and all. Like, when I think back fondly on Eureka it was stuff like sitting in dogpiles with people shooting the shit or having people recognize me outside of it and comment that it's weird seeing me in the wild and not in there.

Nah. I liked the original ARR story and had a lot of fun playing it. I enjoy JRPG stuff and didn't mind the running around and all. I have very fond memories of playing through the story for the first time in the summer after I graduated from high school, and also joining my first FC. I get that it probably became more unbearable later when there was even more to get through afterwards, but at the time, when ARR was all it was, the build-up to Praetorium and beating the game was cool.
I just wanna know what they were doing during Nidhoggs rampage that all 19 were gone, but then a few show up as soon as we start doing prep missions for Moogle Beast tribes of all things.
Fighting off dragons in the sky I assume. From what I hear they added some to Steps of Faith but I haven't done it since the changes so I can't confirm.
I genuinely miss the more adventurous feeling of ARR and HW areas and dungeons, everything now feels way too grandiose, I just want cool green fields like la noscea or similar feeling areas that just feel like they are part of the world
Their dungeon design team has been knocking it out of the park for years, whoever is designing the overworld zones has been doing a poor job post ARR. Ultima Thule was indeed amazing and Elpis might be the best designed zone in the game but literally everything else has been a flop.
Look at how it's laid out, you can tell they actually put some thought into the scenery and how things were framed as you explored around the islands. They actually placed plants and trees in an aesthetic manner instead of just dropping them in an open field and moving on.

When Voidsent are born they basically have their fixations and desires amplified into full obsessions. So Cagnazzo became obsessed with fighting and the thrill of battle, Barbariccia became fixated on freedom, and so on. Durante became fixated on saving his world, freeing his people from strife and misery, and carrying on his best friend's goals and wishes (and making it so that his people would sing of Golbez). The Voidsent are his people and he's obsessed with bringing them to the Source so they can find the release of death and also feed on aether without having to slaughter each other.
She's too autistic to ask people to become friends. It was a stretch of her emotional abilities just to ask somebody who had already hung out with her a bunch to come eat curry with her.
The ideal is that we find out that Golbez is into Lego so Zero will automatically like him and then suggest some autismo wisdom to solve the problem. Like some equitable trade thing where the Voidsent get to live on the Source's moon and sell arts and crafts to Eitherys in exchange for aether.

Yeah. A couple of time. I leveled a few classes to 20, or there abouts. At no time did I feel I was doing anything of consequence, or have much of any agency over how to play a class.
Do the rotations, the game. No thanks. But the trial is exceptionally generous, and it would be great to see more sub model live service games like MMOs adopt a similarly generous trial model.

Yes. It's a really generous trial and I thought it was okay. I apparently only played for 46 hours, when it felt like much longer. Then I swapped to a WoW private server and I've put hundreds of hours into that.

Weekly limit for comedies has been long reached but I keep queueing for expert cause Aetherfont is a very nice dungeon and I like doing it a lot. It's nice to tank it, it's fun.
the music is very nice. I find myself a little disappointed going back to Lapis Manalis sometimes, and I don't even hate that dungeon. I just really like the Aetherfont.
Pretty meh on the monk glam. War is okay, but the colors on the Monk glam seem to clash. Both the gold Coeurl mask and the red/orange sunset like robes are cool concepts in isolation, but I find them to be not similar enough to mesh well together for some reason.
I think when I made it I only had one metallic orange, and metallic orange does NOT look great on the mask.
I mostly made it to use the MNK ARR relic weapon since I worked so hard for it.

Playing CC as a Sage I can't even tell if I'm doing good or not, consistently top 3 in damage but usually only top 5-6 in HP restored. Feels like the healing options are weak as hell
Astro is great at healing, white mage is good because of its LB and cure III, scholar is pretty meh.
The big deciding thing is whether they have an instant-cast or passive heal since the game mode is so fast-paced. Having to cast a full GCD to heal anything just feels so severely limiting

I still wonder if that theory that she was supposed to have Lyse's role in SB but then got spent on saving the First is true, because that makes much more sense to me in the grand scheme.
This might have even hit harder than the stuff with Venat for me. I wasn't really enjoying Pandemonium's story, such as how it felt like they wrote Athena maximum evil with no redeeming qualities just to justify how Lahabrea with her influence in his mind acted in ARR, but this ending really blindsided me with how much closure it offered. I'm not sure what other cutscene in a game even could rival it for me, save for maybe the letter-reading in Silent Hill 2.

My jobs have a mix between casual and not. My DRG is the frog outfit because I think it is funny. Some of mine have full armor, helmet on sets. It all depends on my mood and what I was doing before in the game.
People are dumb. I feel awkward even tanking without my helm toggled on because it just feels stupid to me, like why wouldn't the character in the party that aims to take all the hits wear head protection? I have some casual glams and beach outfits and such too, but I use them when roleplaying and shit like that, not when doing content.

All of them are better than PLD, but none are great.
You've done all the good job quests. I like the thaumaturge questlines, and Blm is fun at higher levels. Low levels you can do a lot of damage if you learn the rotation. It just changes very often. A pretty different rotation in each level bracket, and it's not quite like other jobs where it's the same rotation but with less filler/finisher buttons.
50-60 SAM is pretty cool, 60-70 less so.

And then the second set becomes supporting a bunch of corrupt fricks by fighting a righteous rebel. I get that he goes too extreme and is leaning way too hard into the reckless anarchy, but it's such tonal whiplash from the first set of quests to be helping this chick who's simping for the government that brutally executed her family because her brother was a rebel. The bakufu is absolutely one of the evils that Musosai would have expelled with his technique. It would have been more in line with the first set of quests for the WoL to be the lone ronin that wanders in and fricks up the bakufu and the rebels before riding off into the sunset.
The WoL has fricked up better governments for less.
SMN is very formulaic but has some worldbuilding with the Allagans and Ascians if you’re interested in that at all.
SCH is a lot better than I thought it would be. Again lots of worldbuilding with Nym and the tonberries and the War of the Magi.
SAM is pretty good too. Mostly during 50-60.
BLU has a mediocre storyline but you’re missing out on some of the best PvE gameplay in the game.
The real redpill is to level ALC.

People who shit on ARR or HW have no souls. Personally, I have a lot of fondness, sweet memories, and nostalgia for each expansion. Just all in different ways, whether it's missing the soul and purity of ARR, the fun tanking in HW, spending countless hours in Eureka, or whatever.

I have nostalgia for ShB because I went through the MSQ with a friend and it was fun getting emotional at stuff together. I have the distinct memory of doing Dying Gasp at like 4 AM because neither of us wanted to go to bed when we were that close to the end. And then I have fondness for spending a lot of type during the coof lockdown doing dumb raids and Bozja and shit with friends. I also have some fond memories of Ishgard Restoration and having hoards of people swarming all over doing shit. It and Bozja have the most distinct memories for ShB, so I kind of miss content like that in EW.
My nostalgia for EW is probably going to be because I went through the story with friends, but I dunno if it'll be anything else. A lot of the time the fond memories are born form the social aspect of it being an MMO and all. Like, when I think back fondly on Eureka it was stuff like sitting in dogpiles with people shooting the shit or having people recognize me outside of it and comment that it's weird seeing me in the wild and not in there.

Nah. I liked the original ARR story and had a lot of fun playing it. I enjoy JRPG stuff and didn't mind the running around and all. I have very fond memories of playing through the story for the first time in the summer after I graduated from high school, and also joining my first FC. I get that it probably became more unbearable later when there was even more to get through afterwards, but at the time, when ARR was all it was, the build-up to Praetorium and beating the game was cool.

They should provide more vistas, I really like the fields in Phagl'than and Euprhosine but they are only in the instances.
Granted Ultima Thule looks amazing but you can't really outdo edge of universe now can you.
Their dungeon design team has been knocking it out of the park for years, whoever is designing the overworld zones has been doing a poor job post ARR. Ultima Thule was indeed amazing and Elpis might be the best designed zone in the game but literally everything else has been a flop.

Durante became fixated on saving his world, freeing his people from strife and misery, and carrying on his best friend's goals and wishes (and making it so that his people would sing of Golbez). The Voidsent are his people and he's obsessed with bringing them to the Source so they can find the release of death and also feed on aether without having to slaughter each other.

Pretty meh on the monk glam. War is okay, but the colors on the Monk glam seem to clash. Both the gold Coeurl mask and the red/orange sunset like robes are cool concepts in isolation, but I find them to be not similar enough to mesh well together for some reason.
It might be the lighting too, though.
I think when I made it I only had one metallic orange, and metallic orange does NOT look great on the mask.
I mostly made it to use the MNK ARR relic weapon since I worked so hard for it.

I wish they'd add more characters into the trust system. It's not canon anyway so why does it matter if you were able to run some dungeons with your favorite NPCs even if they are dead or aren't related to the dungeon? They've already coded many of them into the duty support system anyway.

Playing CC as a Sage I can't even tell if I'm doing good or not, consistently top 3 in damage but usually only top 5-6 in HP restored. Feels like the healing options are weak as hell
Sounds about right to me. Healers don't really have that many healing tools in PVP now, and sage definitely has the least out of them.
Astro is great at healing, white mage is good because of its LB and cure III, scholar is pretty meh.
The big deciding thing is whether they have an instant-cast or passive heal since the game mode is so fast-paced. Having to cast a full GCD to heal anything just feels so severely limiting

NTA but I always go out of my way to make my Samurai look as un-Samurai as possible and instead give it a straight sword and aarmor it the frick up with metal armor so it looks like some weird western knight. There's a surprisingly large number of options to do this.
