At any rate the game is full of undodgeable attacks and technical issues (input lag, buttons/controller stops working, etc.), devs knew this hence they gave spirit summons.
I like to play this version when I play it with my friends its a hassle to be constantly summoning and not be able to ride the horse. But whenever I play solo I play vanilla
I really tried my best to go through the game without using the spirit summons
But it’s just so fricking obvious that the game is balanced around them

It’s actually super disappointing considering Sekiro had no coop whatsoever and the boss fights were perfect. Why couldn’t they replicate that?

Never fought Godskin Duo? Basically Ornstein and Smough but the arena is way smaller, they heal punish, and the fat c**t rolls around which 1 or 2 hits you if he so much as touches you.
Then you have all the huge fast bosses that you cant read because you're either staring at their pubes or they flew somewhere and the camera is too slow to turn to them in time (there has never been a good gigantic boss in a fromsoft game, but at least DS1 made them easy sponge bosses).

I used it after I beat the game a couple times to do a playthrough with a friend who wouldn't care about souls games otherwise.
There aren't many games that provide a better coop experience, surprisingly.
