You do have PCIe 4 NVMe SSD on your gaming PC right, anon?
Don't tell you only have outdated tech like a SATA SSD or a HDD in 2021.

Yes, yes I do
I've got 512GB 970 Evo Plus for the OS and 1TB 980 Pro for vidya and 2x 8TB WD Gold Enterprise for data storage.
I didn't fall for the gaming PC meme because I like actually getting new games to play, so no
I do and I don't notice any fricking difference to regular ssds
Same. Not that I mind though, since the only reason I got one was because I ran out of SATA slots.
same. but i bought mine because it just seemed easier to have the storage screwed into the mb. also makes it look nicer because less cables.
I have 2 sata ssds and 1 hdd, I also use a 1050ti, i5 3570k, and 16gb ddr3 1600mhz ram, on a 65 inch 4k tv
you can eat my ass
And it looks like a Xbox 360 game. Bravo
sure thing bud
Thats 1440p dude and most likely 30fps or less
>HD reads/writes are the bottleneck
There is literally nothing wrong with SATA
Games are made to take advantage of sata ssd speeds
Theres no point with even m2 ssd at this point, let alone pcie 4
Windows 11 has direct storage. It's only a matter of time.
The games dont exist
The future games will be made to work on the lowest common denominator which is sata ssd
Ps5 ports May benefit from it but thats if they ever get ported.
What are you morons on about?
Xbox games already use it.
All xbox games are designed from concept stage forward to be multiplatform
>it will happen in 5 years bro just wait
>just buy it right now when you can buy better performance for half the price then
Games are only just starting to take advantage of dx12
yeah
PC compensate with his big ram wiener, no need for an NVME yet.
yeah, less cables is based
The thing I don't like is my cpu cooler covers up the m.2 slot. When I format or partition drives I like to remove drives that aren't required so I don't frick them up but it's too inconvenient to whip out a screwdriver, take off my cpu cooler, unscrew the ssd and pull it out as opposed to just unplugging a cable.
No, but this week I got this.
SSD + HDD for 8k porn files.
How loud is it?
>helium lubricated
>loud
wtf you think it is a velociraptor hdd?
I tried to find a replacement for my 9y/o 3tb wd red in nas, which is completely silent, but failing, and all drives are fricking loud when writing.
>all drives are fricking loud when writing.
mine aren't. learn to put some rubber o-rings or something in the mounts.
using wd 1tb blues with a raspi
in an old hdd cage from frick if i remember the tower it came from.
I have two
i do yeah but i was too lazy to move my OS to it so it is just sitting as extra storage space and not utilizing the extra r/w speed
>PCIe 4
meme
my mobo doesn't even has a slot for it
yes i bought a 2tb one a couple months ago.
Waiting for the 2tb ones to drop to around 200usd or 250aud
I do install my games in a nvme, i download and store my games in a 4tb hdd, which is almost full by now.
I have one of these installed 5 years ago and I think it might be dying after being raped to death by read/writes from browsers and some apps
It keeps randomly spiking to 100% active time and just locks up for most of my PC for a minute at a time
Of course I do
I have anon, but you don't need it. Now back to your tendie toy big boy.
a SATA SSD is all you need unless you run a bloated OS like Winblows
I have on in my ps5
I’ve got a 2tb crucial ssd. I dunno if it meets your fancy pants requirements but it’s been great.
I raided two drives together on my old pc and when I try to plug them in on my new pc it doesn't display them. Anyone know why?
BIOS?
ah I probably just need to update the bios. Frick I'm dumb. Thanks anon
I have a 3700x on an x470 board, best I cna do is pcie3 and even then the difference between SATA SSD and PCIE3 SSD is basically non-existent, so pcie4 is completely wasted money for no return.
This speed will be useful for games that weight over 300gb but for 50gb games it's kinda pointless.
