It's insanely frickin annoying I can tell you that much. There's zero logic to it as the lasers are clearly so low that even rolling with perfect timing his feet/back would be hit by the lasers and yet that's the only way to get past them.
I've beaten it before but I usually stop at level 13. By that point the game is sending you through the same levels for the seventh time but now with more obnoxious enemy placement.

That was almost perfect execution. I know you're used to using autoaim on the PS2 version, but that isn't efficient gameplay.

Here's the hardest boss in the game while taking no damage

I personally use balding millenial instead, it's catchier and fits /vr/ better
the 45 year old with no kids, job who lives with his parents and spends all day every day defending nintendo is truer to his character. Feel free to get him started on croc and the bouncer, two games he's passionately angry about for...some reason

Pathetic gameplay.

Who makes this kind of insult when someone says something they don't like?
I think social media is more your kind of thing or better yet, go with people more your maturity.

I do remember the lasers being the most annoying part of the game.
I also never found more ammo expansions and not even the faq says where to find more than 2 iirc.
This game has amazing atmosphere. It is so dreary and drab in a hopeless sort of way. I especially love the various changes in the color of the sky from a clear blue to a nasty smokey orange. I also love the sound design. Every time I ever step on a metal grate irl to this day it sends me back to hearing the echoing of foot steps in an empty warehouse from this game. The story in this game is nothing special but does have the ol MY FRIEND IS....LE BAD? WHICH L which was fun for the first play through. Also Op, this game can be hard, but is not unfair. Like other anons have said just learn how the lasers work. If you can't use your brain to actually analyze an obstacle then go play a modern bing bing wahoo with the golden suit so you can beat something without trying. I think the actual combat is more unforgiving if you take things too hastily. Day after day I see threads of games I beat as a child filter 20 something year olds. It never gets old.
I loved playing it on the one shot mode, it you were shot once, it was over. I don't remember if it was an unlockable mode, a code, or a game shark thing, but after playing through countless times it was fun to know you could play the game flawlessly.
How do you play this game. I fumbled around with the first few guys and messed up the cover so I just ran up and shot them. Then I got bored and quit the game before it progressed passed the basics.
>It's a game of slow pace, but quick reflex.
Ah, from the way Jean-Luc arrived on the battlefield by jumping off a plane without a parachute I guess I was pretty primed for action, but I'll try the slow and careful approach next time.
It's a game of pushing forward and chasing the line against pressures of time. You want to do quick acquisitions of targets and respond to threats fast.

That's how the 45 year old anon has chosen to identify himself. Usually followed with hard assed defense of nintendo and denial of evidence and reality while doctoring false articles.
This is one of the rare games that only released on N64 and PS2. In fact it might be the only one.
My uncle has it on PS2 and I had it on N64.
Cross Gen ports were crazy back then. Today it’s just 1080p on 2013 consoles vs 4k on 2020 consoles.
It's a good time and a great test of skill, the guy posting the N64 version used to be a MASSIVE hater of this game, he hated it almost as much as he hated the bouncer and swore it was inferior to RE4. Now he's changed, just like that.
I don't think webms existed at the time I found out about this website, but as you can see, I'm proven right about making even the biggest haters fall in love with the game. Behold the 45 year old virgins long history with this game.
Man, /vr/ is full of so many casuals particularly ones that have to adjust to new control schemes.
If you have a functioning brain it shouldn't be an issue but I see gays constantly complaining about having to adapt to new things, which was such a common thing back then.
It makes me wonder what the average age of /vr/ posters is that anything that isn't dual joystick controls with standardized controls makes so many people complain about older games.
Anything without dual joystick control is unnatural. Simple as. Humans are born with a head, 2 arms, and 2 legs that move independently. If you can't strafe while looking at shooting at any direction you want, it's objectively unnatural and therefore janky.
Total nonsense. Humans are born with an adaptable brain and can learn how to operate new systems and tools and do so all the time. Just admit you're lazy and don't want to put in any effort, you're not fooling anyone with that shit.
Is it that hard? I never went through the single player. I played the splitscreen of this on N64 and PS2 with my brothers and some friends.
It's insanely frickin annoying I can tell you that much. There's zero logic to it as the lasers are clearly so low that even rolling with perfect timing his feet/back would be hit by the lasers and yet that's the only way to get past them.
Shoulda played the PS2 version, 3x the framerates!
The collision detection is insanely accurate, when you understand that it can make those rolls easier.
The PS2 version controls worse.
You've never been past the first level 45 year old with no kids, don't bother.

how the hell did this literally who game pass selection for a rerelease?
I think it may have been the very first cover based shooter, it walked so gears of war could run.
This game has amazing atmosphere. It is so dreary and drab in a hopeless sort of way. I especially love the various changes in the color of the sky from a clear blue to a nasty smokey orange. You definitely want to take your time or else you will get wrecked. It's a game of slow pace, but quick reflex.

Have you ever been even remotely decent at any of the games you offer your sagelike wisdom for?
What can I say anon, it's a Japanese game. Just be happy that after the sky dive you weren't greeted by a series of menus.
The two player was fun. Should've had a 4 player mode. Single player was whatever.
Okay now having completed it I can say I liked it. The lasers are still my most disliked aspect though.

>2 years after goldeneye and turok
>still no dpad movement + analog aiming controls
Were jap devs moronic?
it has a more interesting aiming and movement system than any of those.
Nah it's unwieldy and shit. The cover shooter genre was improved by Time Crisis and perfected by KillSwitch. Winback was an mess.
It's not much of a cover shooter
Getting hit in less than a second lmfao
It's literally the first cover shooter.
>Getting hit in less than a second lmfao
Who cares? This is a game about speed.
>Youtube factoid
Cover shooter isn't a real genre it's just TPS. Getting hit means you're bad.
Objectively speaking, this is the first cover shooter.
>Getting hit means you're bad.
No going for bodyshots only means you're bad.
Isn't Time Crisis the first cover shooter?

I saw that game all the time at the video rental place but I never played it. Sounds like I wasn't missing anything.

I made the webms showing off this game's cover mechanics before you even knew about this website.
I don't think webms existed at the time I found out about this website, but as you can see, I'm proven right about making even the biggest haters fall in love with the game. Behold the 45 year old virgins long history with this game.
Naturally I'm far better than you at whatever obscure crap you've decided is your "favorite" today. As the webms show.
Trust me, you missing 90% of your shots here:
really demonstrated your skill. Must be that senility kicking in.
The game doesn't track moving targets. Certainly a lot better than your one webm of spamming bodyshots making the boss fight take an entire minute.
>The game doesn't track moving targets
Yeah it does?
Not well enough to hit a target strafing.
Wow, the game has a flashlight? I didn't know it harboured such graphical fidelity.

I'm sorry man, this game actually seems pretty cool and may have been an inspiration for RE4, but I tapped out at "S.C.A.T."
