Self-copying spells isn't quite the same thing as copying an existing other spell. Zevlor just doesn't really do anything specifically in black. It might just be to give him a third colour, that happens sometimes.

That's not really copying an opponent's spell. That's sacrificing cards to multiply its effectiveness.

it literally slaps self-replicating copy ability onto every spell
it doesn't even make a trigger before copying, it copies go straight onto the stack after the first spell
its a black card

No, it doesn't. It doesn't give those spells the ability to copy themselves, Zevlor copies them after they are cast via a delayed trigger. Now, if it was something like "the next spell you cast has Casualty x" then I'd agree on the black identity. But no, zevlor is the source of the spell copying. He is not giving the spells the ability to copy themselves, he is copying them as soon as they are cast. This is a very important distinction to make.
I wish I had dumb fricks like this to play magic with, since they dont know the difference between copying a spell and creating a token. The dude I normally play mtg with can read, but this homie right here? nah. If he was in one of my pods I'd win faster.

Spreading the pain, I think. Red and blue both copy, but they tend to copy in more broad ways. Black copying specifically to spread it to 'all opponents' is probably a thing they do. I dunno. Might just be to have a third colour.
IIRC it's just based on Act I, so everything else was just WotC fanfic. Zevlor is a Paladin and breaks free from the Absolute or dies.
Lae'zel is called Vlaakith's Chosen, despite Vlaakith really not giving a frick about Lae'zel and she ends up in a crusade against Vlaakith.
Shadowheart is called "Shar's Justicar" but that only happens if you purposefully want her to go bad.
real talk, why doesn't wotc add some mtg spells to d&d? like it's just weird how we've had basically the same spell list for decades when they own an entire property that does nothing but invent spells
It was always gonna be Gideon dying for Liliana, Liliana was just too popular to bite it. Same reason why I'm pretty sure Jace is fine (and probably not even desparked), I'm fairly confident the Lorwyn 5 will never truly be gone. Garruk's absent, but they'll do SOMETHING with him soon enough.
Being desparked means nothing considering normies can now transverse the planes. The desparking just means they can be your commander the next time they show up.
True enough. It's a weird decision anyway. Feels like nobody's really happy with it, especially because there's no real reason it happened, it just kinda 'did'.
Jace did frickall in the last 3 years, the only time before he try stick his dick in the sylex was in Zendikar when he got his shit pushed in by Nissa and Nahiri. It was also the last time he was on the cover of a Standard product.
Anon she's been an evil crazy granny since the start, she just hid it well.
It's still funny to me that Brandon Sanderson came in and made them a book for free just to make a character that's specifically built to shit on Lili for how moronic she is.
It all being one sentence makes it a bit hard for new people to fully grasp, if that's what you mean. The reason that they do this is because it all needs to be a single effect, if there's a period in there then it's two separate things that happen.
wrong, put into the graveyard is specific, it means when spells like leyline of the void are in play killing the creatures won't trigger the effect, because they never enter the graveyard
why is he grixis when he's actually boros (The literal Good Cops) in game
this is what became of him after the scouts came roonin back to the gates
What part of this card is black? Haste is red and copying spells is red/blue.
Copying targets is black
Since when?

this moron just did an oracle search for "copy" on black cards and completely disregarded the context
The majority of copy cards are blue you fricking low IQ mf.
Copying is primary blue, secondary red. Not black at all.
>orzhov, also more reanimation than copying
>rakdos, also shapeshifting not proper copying
>self-replication
>self-replication
I accept your concession
Wrong. Copying is typically associated with blue.
You're confused. Black stealing things is real life, not the TCG.
No one was talking about stealing things but that is blue/red's job too. Blue can steal things forever and red can steal them for a single turn.
Spreading the pain, I think. Red and blue both copy, but they tend to copy in more broad ways. Black copying specifically to spread it to 'all opponents' is probably a thing they do. I dunno. Might just be to have a third colour.
You're more likely to have single target spells with devastating effects in black than any other color.
It's for Commander, the black is solely so you can add good black cards to copy
>its for le color identity!!!
made-for-commander cards are a mistake
I mean, I agree, I'm just telling you why it's black
Northing. WotCjust doesn't give a frick about colours anymore.
ITT: homosexuals not realizing that Hasbros of the Coast dont understand dnd or magic.
yeah I wish my grandma was like that
this was hot until the total view revealed a generic mid 30yo hag and a guy pretending to be moronic
kinda weird how many spoilers were in this set

Speaking of copying spells, I need a funny name for my eternal dominion copying deck
This isn't video games, so frick off all of ye.

>cast Boomerang on the evil lord
>he no longer has a swamp fortress
>a minute later it comes back
Yeah, that'd be a weird spell for a D&D game.

Jace is all but replaced by Teferi at this point.
No, he's not and teferi is desparked
Jace did frickall in the last 3 years, the only time before he try stick his dick in the sylex was in Zendikar when he got his shit pushed in by Nissa and Nahiri. It was also the last time he was on the cover of a Standard product.
Reminder that Jace does kinky psychic shit in bed.

>Jace kicks Lilliana to the curb when her crazy evil granny phase starts and gets a cute monster girl wife
Biggest upgrade.
Anon she's been an evil crazy granny since the start, she just hid it well.
It's still funny to me that Brandon Sanderson came in and made them a book for free just to make a character that's specifically built to shit on Lili for how moronic she is.
Why are the descriptions always so bad in MTG? This reads like some lawyer shit that u need to read 7 times to even get what its trying to say
what's difficult yo understand? seems simple to me. Are you one of those morons who doesn't understand chains of mephistopheles?
It's gotten worse over the years.
you're an idiot
It all being one sentence makes it a bit hard for new people to fully grasp, if that's what you mean. The reason that they do this is because it all needs to be a single effect, if there's a period in there then it's two separate things that happen.
People shitting on you but this effect had to be restated in a more understanding way after it was revealed
it's child's play for someone that comes from yugioh
Its garbage game from garbage company, thats why
>troonymander
>each other opponent
stopped reading there
Put a "then" after the first comma and "put into a graveyard" is now "dies"
>"put into a graveyard" is now "dies"
wrong
It is for creatures, ever since Innistrad.
Also applies to planeswalkers since 2019 or so.
wrong, put into the graveyard is specific, it means when spells like leyline of the void are in play killing the creatures won't trigger the effect, because they never enter the graveyard
in this case, it should be "for each creature sacrificed this way"
that's different
That's what the card would be like if it was a real one, like Siphon Flesh.
