Some fans made a launcher that duplicates your save before launching, but if you play a couple hours in one sitting it can't get your back.

999 dual screen finale highly overrated
The bottom screen being Akane's perspective is an interesting twist but since you play as Junpei his matters more.
It's also a great example of not design your twists around hardware gimmicks.

It really shouldn't even be in that pic. The VN aspects are perfunctory at best. It's pretty much a chill collectathon with no fail state -- neither the platforming nor the conversations can be botched. A great game to relax and unwind tho, I miss exploring that island.
I never see anyone talk about Process od Elimination, it was ok maybe even good 7/10. The protaganist was a huge wimp though, might as well been a woman.

The guy who localised this game, Ben Bateman, is woke and has bragged on twitter about being thankful he can remove the "sexism and racism" out of the japanese games he localises
999 was "alright" but didn't really sell me enough that I'd want to replay it or play the sequels.
The clumsy exposition dumps in particular really take me out of it.
Don't trust the homosexuals recomending the DS version, steam version is superior in every way and doesn't force you to waste your time replaying the same route/rooms/dialogue several times for the true ending.

I played all 3 years ago on the DS, Vita, and 3DS respectively. I can't even imagine trying to play the first game without a second screen.

It's very hard to describe, but I didn't like it. That's just a personal feeling, though.

Just missing something. It's still fine, but a lot of the characters feel pointless, and some of the mysteries aren't paid off well.
