now that the market's normalized, where are the scalpers? because all I see is them cutting their losses by selling cards at a discount
Scalpers will last like a month tops now that mining is dead for the foreseeable future
sales are so bad that nvidia marketers have resorted to shitposting on Ganker. sad!
btw I'll be getting the new Intel Arc A7 GPU when it releases.
nvidia is not top dog anymore. In fact they are the worst price/peformance of all. AMD and Intel have caught up. cope 🙂
I really don't want to jump on the 1440p meme train because I care more about frames than pixels. I rather play my games at high, steady frames. I got the 3080, but people are saying for 1080p I'm being moronic.
Lets say I play Metro at 1080p Ultra settings and getting 165-120 frames, I'll prefer that over 1440p Ultra settings and getting 100-80 frames.
you are definitely find when you decide to scale up. the lower your res the less your gpu matters, it becomes more of a cpu bound task than gpu. not saying gpus dont matter at 1080 just more often than not your cpu is working harder than your gpu. but ayy youre still set when you decide to upscale your res
Honestly doubt you really see much of a difference in a slow-paced, single player game like Metro. Resolution and frame rate both achieve the same thing in different ways, visual clarity that is, resolution overall but frame rate when the picture is in motion. It's not like you're doing 180 degree spins and jumping up and down multiple flights in Metro. In that case resolution probably contributes to a better picture overall.
But you're also not wrong not to jump on the 1440p bandwagon, since 1440p only looks good at native res. With a 3080, you could get a 4k monitor and run games at 1080p when frames are more important and 4k when resolution is more important.
Eh. I was fine with a 24'' when I had one, the jump to 27'' is pretty big though. Honestly it may have to do with age. I have good eyes, and I was totally fine with 17-19'' as a kid, I remember being able to pick up the exact details of every enemy unit's loadout. As you get older, the details start to jump out at you less, or maybe you just stop caring. The bigger screen helps compensate a little.

screen size has nothing to do with detail, screen size should solely be determined by how close you sit, there is correct and incorrect
if you are at a desk, a reasonable sized desk, 24" is what you should have

Maybe if you're young. Younger minds are much more elastic, they're able to focus on smaller details and are able to extrapolate the data to as big as they can imagine it automatically. You'll notice this ability as you lose it.
>goyim, you need to buy 2000$ cards to play the latest release of globalhomo2: electric jiggaboo trans edition
my 6 year old computer plays noita and every japanese vn just fine. when it dies, i will intentionally find the last win7 rated motherboard and make a 'new' outdated pc for 200$ to keep playing my pixel shit vn garbage that has more soul than the most expensive triple a blackrock approved shovelware. I will buy nothing new, and will be happy.
Got a 2080 super right before the 3000 series came out and there were autists lined up to stockpile them driving the prices up. I play mostly console anyway so the card runs anything worthwhile just fine. Looking forward to a massive upgrade to a 5k in a couple of years.
Most gamers will not benefit from a 3090 Ti as much as 3D artists will, no game comes anywhere close to using up 24GB VRAM, so it's probably best they probably go with a 3060/3070 instead and leave the ultra high-end stuff to us.
>Spending 1700 on a card that will be outclassed by a $500 card in the next 6 months. >Bb-but Nvidia is going to charge $1500 for their new cards!
Yeah they'll charge an arm and a leg for the 4090 and 4090TI but the 4080 and 4070 will both beat this and cost a lot less still. This was always a dumb product even with a $400 discount.
I don’t need that much power.
no one man should have all that power*
1700 euros is what I have after taxes and monthly subs
>Free eLeash
kinda sus fr fr
I have a 1440p high refresh monitor and not even a 3090Ti can hit stable 140+fps
Stop playing at max moron
This just get a Console if you want to play games
>4090 in 2-3 months
there's my excuse
what about the scalpers?
now that the market's normalized, where are the scalpers? because all I see is them cutting their losses by selling cards at a discount

4000 series coming out in a couple months
Cope.

im ok with my free 3070 ti
what am i gonna do with that, run nes games at 50000 fps?
Have playable 4k memetracing fps.
there are no new games to play
They'll all be $200 cheaper in two months.

Because they are moronic.

But for 4K wouldn't I need to get a 32+ inch monitor? Bringing the res down to 1080p at the size wouldn't that look bad?
Samsung makes one at 28'', not sure about other options. 1080p at that size isn't great, but its bearable, especially if that's what you're used to.
anything bigger than 24" for a desk is too big
1080p is still the goated resolution because of this

Stop being smart and buy a 1440p PRONTO
>tech illiterates buying top of the line gpu's
Buying an expensive gpu and not using 1440p+ is such a waste of resources.
I went into music and got a mac instead
Have you come out to your parents about being a homosexual?
Not yet
>macs can magically handle music production better than PC because..
enjoy your facebook machine
My pc is hanging on by a thread, though. The mac was cheaper than a new rig in 2021
Are you a console gay then? Why are you on a video game board.
It still works, but it's buggy at times. I do more music now anyway
Nice try newegg but I'm not buying your overpriced old hardware. I'd consider a 3060ti since I don't care for 4k but otherwise I'll wait
I've waited this long so what is 4 months more?
not falling for 10000 homiewatt tdp memes
I could get a PS5 or SeX and a 4k TV for that. Pass.
Not a gaming card. It's the new quadro with a gaymer label.
lolno
3090s are Geforce. Geforce cards have gimped drivers for professional applications. 3090 wishes it was a titan let alone a quadro
Is it better to have a 3060 with 12gb RAM or a 3060 ti with 8?
For games, the latter.
Former would be a little better for rendering work and stuff like that.
My PC can handle every single game I want to play so no thx
>comparing waiting three months to waiting two years three months
>1700€
That's 10 months of my paychecks.
How the frick do you only make 2k a year? I'm pretty sure literal Africans make than that.
Some of us are adults who have to pay bills and only have little amounts of spare income.
Not everyone here is a carefree American or an immigrant to Germany.
I fricking hate you OP
"What's your excuse"
How about you buy me one fricktard
I literally starve twice a week to gather that money so I can build a whole PC for the next 15 years.
that was 2 slow weeks of my paychecks, and I was a ac helper.
3080 12GB for $740
>msi
Should I buy 3070 TI? It's 600$
I like 3080 more but it's $800+.
Currently using 2070s. Probably not worth upgrading but GPUs have hit rock-bottom. It's tempting
>30% performance increase compared to a 3080 for only a 100% markup
What a steal
>goyim, you need to buy 2000$ cards to play the latest release of globalhomo2: electric jiggaboo trans edition

Got more important things to buy
>You literally have no excuse.
no games need any of these cards. good day.
Been tempted to buy in but only because of all the goddamn marketing and hype. My 2070s is JUST FINE
>Been tempted to buy in but only because of all the goddamn marketing and hype.
fomo is a disease
I can build an entire computer with that amount of money at only a 10% performance difference
still too expensive
lol I remember when the MSRP on these was below 1k.

Nice try Jayztwocents EVGA shill.
What's there to play that requires that much power anyway, im happy with my mid range gpu and smol monitor

90 and 90Ti cards are always for suckers with too much money and not enough brains.
I'm waiting for the 5000 series to come out and then maybe I'll get a 3080
