Honestly? Having now played Y on an emulator at high resolution, I was amazed by how good the game actually looks when it isn't being compressed into an unreadable mess of jaggies by the tiny-ass 3DS screen. So I'd actually say no.
But if you DO want 2D Pokemon again, just play Realidea System. The translation isn't great, but it's otherwise so good it even managed to win over the fan game thread here (who usually play them purely to shit on them).
Not really in the gen 5 sense, I didn't think they were bad, but they didn't look as good as something like the intro animations they have in Crystal
