2 was an absolute blast to play, but it is a real shame they just didn't know what to do after it. Second son was fine, but I don't remember much at all from it.
2 > 1 > Festival of Blood > First Light > Second Son
Really liked 2, never got to play 1 or that dlc, second son was alright, could've been much much worse.
2 is one of my favorite games ever. Just a blast to play and the story is awesome.
I'd put First Light above Festival of Blood. They really need to release 1 and 2 on PC. Shame it's pretty much KIA after Ghosts of Tsushima was a hit.
inFAMOUS 2 is still one of the best games on the PS3, on par with a lot of PS2 and PS1 titles
my homies
Infamous 2 is kino as frick and it's an absolute crime the first two were never remastered.
I used to wish Sucker Punch was a bigger studio so they could develop multiple games at the same time, until the Insomniac leak opened my eyes at the absolute farce that is AAA development.
I’d like a fourth too, but I can’t quite imagine where they’d go with the story from there, maybe something to do with the Paper Conduit they introduced with that neat little easter egg hunt? I also hope they’d add some more stuff to do, game was pretty empty after you beat the story
InFamous 1 is a neat, but strangely concept. Super Hero game with Assassin's Creed climbing, but it's a shooter. I think it's my favorite despite how fricking annoying it is to be shot from every direction constantly throughout the game.
I honestly remember very little from InFamous 2 despite it being a fairly solid upgrade from 1. I think I liked the weird vampire dlc better than the main game.
Second Son was a tech demo that didn't really have much going for it.
>I think it's my favorite despite how fricking annoying it is to be shot from every direction constantly throughout the game.
Fricking yeah, those reapers junkies with their AKs would somehow manage to nail you from anywhere, didn't matter what you were doing, minding your own business and they'd have perfect aim every single time
2 was an absolute blast to play, but it is a real shame they just didn't know what to do after it. Second son was fine, but I don't remember much at all from it.

I still don't get why these games didn't even get a PS4 remaster during the time where everything was getting one. >ftw no Infamous, Killzone, Resistance remasters
You can't tell me those games didn't sell well enough to warrant some remasters
Infamous and Killzone aren't high profile enough for the devs or Sony to get a remaster and Insomniac just hates everything they developed before the PS4

It got the "super hero game: right, but the morality system was really fricking lazy. You were a boy scout or the most pissy teenager like adult ive seen in vidya. >2
I don't even remember playing it. I have the trophies for it. take that as you will
>Second Son
Really fun, up until the last 1-2 powers. Then you can "feel" they rushed it out the door. Does the X Men thing of super powered people being hunted/hated better than Marvel has in decades.
>First Light
Holy fricking shit. You want a hidden gem? Right here. No bullshit bloated move set, no spawrling open world map with hundreds of rat dicks to collect. Just a solid level based action game.
I just wish all the powers were as fleshed out as smoke.
[...]
First Light was an expansion to second son. It's fun
Im kind of surprised the reception to first light is as positive as it is here, I think it was solid for what it was
I ended up liking Fetch a lot more than I thought I would honestly. Her backstory is pretty sad. Her neon power was also the coolest by far. Hope they do more with it if there’s ever another game
>InFamous: Second Son is coming up on its tenth year anniversary
[...]
no new game
What the FRICK happened to this series? I get the reception to SS was kinda lukewarm but was it so bad they didn’t even think of trying one more time?
It's not, SS is based off the good ending, years after Cole used the Ray Field Inhibitor. the Bad ending was him destroying it, killing Zeke and moving across the country, making more conduits before the plague killed millions of people
>What the FRICK happened to this series?
Sucker Punch didn't want to be in the inFamous and Sly farms forever and wanted to do a new IP. Both SS and FL were rushed out the door so Ghost of Sushi could come to life.
ngl I hated both original games. The marketing kept pumping out this "what if you were a superhero" or "what if the superhero, isnt exactly a nice guy" getting you all jazzed for what seems like a cool if edgy superhero game, and then you play the game and youre in the trash kingdom, home of dirty homeless and bags blowing in the wind, your powers consist of....electricity.....and.......just electricity..... really underwhelming. prototype was a far uglier game with a worse story but far more fun to play
I love iF1 and thought Second Son was fairly enjoyable. Main issues with the latter was the lack of difficulty compared to the first game and some weird gimmick stuff (spray painting motion controls was fine, but having to use the touch bar to refill your powers never felt natural).
I hope the series gets another entry, but the last non Ghost of Tsushima title that Sucker Punch worked on was 8 years ago, so I don't have high hopes.
These games are so full of soul, they managed to make the electric powers so satisfying to use, compared to Miles in SM where they just feel like absolute ass

Holy frick, eat shit already
Not that anon but I remember Infamous 1's morality system boiling down to >Kill all these fricking people for no reason
OR >Help all these fricking people for moral reasons
They could have worked in a way for the morality choices to be related to Cole or at least grant some incentive to the player to pick one over the other beyond "Are you a burn it all down kind of guy or plant all the pretty flowers kind of guy?", even Bioshock 1 at least had a moronic economic incentive to being good or bad, in Infamous its just what flavor do you prefer, Mountain Dew Code Red or Mountain Dew Voltage?
Loved the second. Never played the first. Second Son was ahead of its time graphically and the powers and stuff were fun but the story is kind of lackluster, I also wish we could have actually used the powers we absorbed to their fullest extents rather than the watered down versions we got.
I just wish all the powers were as fleshed out as smoke.
First 2 are legitimately pretty good. Second son literally ONLY got any praise because people were DESPERATE for a ps4 exclusive, no matter what it was. Honestly, I didn't even know first light existed, so I have no clue if it's good or bad.

played 2 first, loved it, didnt get through the first going back because I missed all the powers and monsters added in the sequel.
second son felt really shallow for some reason, got to the digital realm and lost interest. spreading powers across 4-5 different types was the wrong move, made you feel like you were just dipping your toe in everything. also enemy variety was lacking
Infamous 1 had a decent plot, a shame all the loose ends were tied up in a shitty comic.
Infamous 2 started ok but it was a clusterfrick halfway through and only the ice powers were fun.
Second Son was moronic.
First Light was cringe kino and had the best gameplay of all games.
Didn't the lead writer get pissy that more people liked the good Cole path in the first game so he intentionally wrote a shit good karma path for Infamous 2?
I really enjoyed the Infamous 2 demo at my local target back then. Should've gotten the game, but I couldn't afford it or the consoles. I was not thrilled with Second Son, but I can give it props for cool looking powers. The frick is the newest one though? Never heard of that one.
that's all there is to it, jimbo wanted a piece of the gaas pie and decided that every single ps studio would have to make gaas, tlou one already canceled and same with spiderman's. then you have fairgames was it? concord and marathon.
>qrd
sony is working on no fewer than 10 GAAS right now, one of which is a known dud "remake/reboot" of marathon by Bungie who is now saying that working at Sony is "oppressive and hellish". Playtesters had this to say about the new Marathon game: this sucks
>Bungie who is now saying that working at Sony is "oppressive and hellish"

They had to actually develop a game instead of being on Twitter all day?
basically. Sony when they bought bungie effectively said "keep making money and we wont boss you around" They have not been making money since before Sony bought them. Now sony is saying "you need to make this new game, or make content that will pull in cash, or fricking something or we're going to fire some of you and really make you guys get to work". all of this after bungie has basically shit on everyone from >Wow microsoft was hellish and oppressive
to >wow activision was hellish and oppressive
to >wow our bosses here at bungie were hellish and oppresive
destiny 2 is in the fricking shitter and I dont see how it can come back
fricking hate that all superpowered free roamers nowadays are tied to comics and preset worlds and characters. I fricking hate that we'll never get another original IP like saints row, infamous, prototype etc
Only played infamous 1 but honestly I enjoyed it even if the city was fricking ugly. Back then we all referred to as the static shock videogame because it was just an original guy as static and it was honestly very cool. I would try it again. I remember the importance of this IP at the time insofar as Cole was the Goku of PSABR and second son was the face of ps4 titles for a while.
Would really like a port or for emulation to catch up to them (haven't looked in awhile on that).
I got a PS4 on the cheap in 2020 to play some of the PS games I had missed from being on the PC end. I just couldn't do it from the frame rates, it gives me headaches.
Great games, shame it ended at infamous two and they never did anything else.

Honestly they should just forget SS and go back to the original idea and make Infamous 3 based off the evil ending for Infamous 2
>and make Infamous 3 based off the evil ending for Infamous 2
but SS is based on that. its why conduits are still even alive
Anon? There's literally a side-quest in second son with an alive Zeke that tells you about how big of a chad his dead friend was
It's not, SS is based off the good ending, years after Cole used the Ray Field Inhibitor. the Bad ending was him destroying it, killing Zeke and moving across the country, making more conduits before the plague killed millions of people
>What the FRICK happened to this series?
Sucker Punch didn't want to be in the inFamous and Sly farms forever and wanted to do a new IP. Both SS and FL were rushed out the door so Ghost of Sushi could come to life.
Which sucks because although Sushi isn’t terrible Infamous definitely had more potential
As much as I love infamous people are sick to death of capeshit so it's probably for the best we got Swooshieman, I'd like another some day though.
I guess but SP literally only have Sly, Sushi and inFamous under their belt, seems like a waste to abandon one (well, two) of their gravy trains
Infamous 2 is one of my favorite games of all time. I even made a few missions that got featured and got thousands of plays.
>he did it for free
nu-Ganker is unlikely to remember, mid-late PS3/early-PS4 classics are before their time
This
Most of Ganker is unlikely to ever play them either because the originals aren’t even ported to modern consoles for some weird reason
second son is good shut up
you're a homosexual shut up
First two were great. The rest was lacking. Shame too, since the size of the world, graphics, animation were pretty impressive for the time.

DLC for Second Son, came out back in like 2015
It’s a toss up if you’ll like it, opinion is pretty divided on it but they’re both super cheap now
