Yeah i remember how laggy it was, it wad unironically unplayable.
If this shit was'nt fricking slow and lagged it would have been a nice gimme battle style. The smart asses just needed to reduce the sice and 3d of the stage. For god sake, triple battle had 6 pokemon model and didn't laged that much (at least not in XY).
>play ORAS >engage in a double battle with some random NPC >send out my affectionate pokemon; one of them is shiny >pause for performance lag >pause for shiny animation >pause for pokemon 1 to hop >pause for pokemon 2 to turn its head to look at me >can now finally select a move
i understand they had the battle end when the first player lost all their pokemon so nobody would be stuck waiting around, but it makes the scoring system really unintuitive
Just don't fricking attack the one that is about to loss if you don't have points. Agains the IA might be crappy, but agains 3 others players they would pick the target better. I fought this shit for the badge and it was really easy, like third/4th try and and I got the ribbon.
Just give the option to observe or leave once you lose. You watching isn't going to affect shit. Of course that'd require competent programming skills on GF's part and we've all seen how that turns out. Shit would probably stop the match for anybody so it'd be a race to have the most points before 4th place disconnects

But, yeah, it should at least have 2 modes, first out and last man standing.
Alola was the generation of "interesting battle facilities but poor execution". The Battle Agency is another thing that had potential but failed because of how it worked.
I won’t defend the others, but the Battle Tree is easily the most fun version of the Battle Tower. The full national dex, intact movepools, two gimmicks, and well-balanced difficulty allow for a wide variety of viable teams.
I would agree, but even playing blind, the first 40 or so battles of the Maison are too easy for my tastes. The Tree had a few surprises in store for the early battles, and it was balanced in a way that was more fun than it was frustrating. Comparatively, the Maison was a little boring at times.
>It's actually maddening that we didn't get these back in Sword and Shield given the fact that the hardware likely could have handled it.
Gen 7 could have handled it. Gen 7 could have easily been more performant than Gen 6, there was nothing overtly more quality about the style they went with since XYORAS's models for the trainers were higher poly and if it was really an issue to render them for those modes specifically they could have just not rendered them like they do every time a move fires off in Gen 7.
Even the fricking PC and bag menus run at half the speed they did in Gen 6. They did it specifically because you'd buy it anyway.
that whole thing strikes me as "to lazy to figure out how to tie it all to one model so they just copy pasted the model and tied a scene to each one" made worse by the fact that they tend to interrupt you every 2 steps so every 2 steps requires another model
It was alright. I got the Royal Master ribbon on a handful of mon including all of the Alolan variants. It was a fun use for Galvanize Explosion if nothing else.
Actually last man standing would result in everyone making stall team and would take ages to finish. The best way would be the first to point X score wins
You can definitely still have a tanky Pokemon and still win if you play smart and target Pokemon in an extremely beneficial way. I won a battle using only Jellicent.
Yeah i remember how laggy it was, it wad unironically unplayable.
It was unplayable, not unironically unplayable.
Just did the tutorial and never ever played again
I remember when that one homosexual poketuber invented it in xy and then cried when gamefreak stole it
This shit roots back to stadium 1 or 2.

SM has player models so that would be 8 models, this is why they removed the 3D, it made XY lag with 2 models.

Affection ruined Pokemon, I don't even touch it for Pokemon in my team, feels like cheating.

Cool concept. The lag and moronic score system ruined it.
But, yeah, it should at least have 2 modes, first out and last man standing.
Of course I remember this, I just played it last weekend online.
>could've had a neat last man standing mode
>instead it's just first to KO a Pokemon which might as well be RNG
Forgotten for good reason
Isn't it supposed to be "Battle Royale"
no

Agree to disagree. Removing Triples and Rotation is a sin.

they needed the space for 70 lillies

SV battle tower would have been so good with tera. Infinite possibilities with them. Fricking cancer it just suddenly got dropped.

Amazing minigame fricked up by no online version.
Loved this. Wish Pokémon stoped adding battle modes only to remove them after.
