I don't play horror games, except Resident Evil, even if they are bad, because I love resident evil. Horror isn't fun anymore. No more room music, no more camp. Developers seem to have forgotten that a large part of atmosphere is how the characters react to it. And in a video game, where the character is following out input direction more than reacting, music has a lot to do with that.
It's not reddit. It's just the fact that if you're a horror junkie, you will eventually grow completely numb to horror. After long enough NOTHING in games scares you and you begin to think that people who still do get scared by games that no longer scare you are massive pussies.
