I could see him feeling a little bit guilty about it, since they’re incredibly childlike and harmless in what they’re doing, and they aren’t really hurting anyone.
They were all shitheads for thinking Olathe, land of losers, rapists, and weirdos, was worth saving, and letting their 11 year old niece they’ve raised since she was a baby getting gangbanged to death or suicide was fine to achieve it.
That clearly wasn't their plan. Rick outright said giving her to Rando because he could handle it better was the play. None of them wanted Buddy to get raped, they wanted to get her to a guy who could actually protect her and do what was right by her. They knew that wasn't them OR Brad. So they helped her run.
Was better than Brad's fricking plan. Especially knowing Buddy. She would have run on her own eventually anyway.
That would’ve failed miserably, since we know for a fact that Rando’s men aren’t loyal, and will go against his orders as soon as he’s gone. They would’ve mutinied and killed him for a chance to frick Buddy, and one of his most trusted men molested her in Joyful. And her uncles did it for “the world’s” sake, not hers. They’re just as selfish as Brad, but while he taught her the skills to defend herself, they put her in more danger she could ever imagine.

This, even in Painful the disloyalty is apparent. His men are ordered to gift Brad their Rando rations for destroying his bike and the second Rando leaves they they try to kill Brad for them.
Brad was right and did nothing wrong. He may be shitty father by real world standards, but he was the best father he could possibly be by Olathe standards, and all while dealing with a crippling Joy addiction being forced onto him by Buzzo.
The fact that everyone was out to frick buddy kind of demonstrated Brad was right to hide her from the world. I seriously doubt she was even close to ready for child birth so anyone claiming fricking her was for the sake of the continuity of the human race was pretty much full of shit and just wanted to frick a kid.
legitemate killed him in one try no problem when I first met him on the harder difficulty (because I didn't know that I'd end up playing both, anyway), without any problems.
He’s easy if you can consistently do high damage, keep him Pissed, stuck up DOT, and bring some Fancy Perfumes. The difficulty comes from the fact people who go in blind won’t know about his permadeath move.
Frick, this is so long ago. I hardly remember the possible party members. I think I had an alcohol vomiting guy that really complemented a molotov throwing guy?
Alcohol vomiting sounds like Birdie and his Gasoline Spit. Not sure about the second guy, but using any characters with fire moves like Brad and his Fireballs, Terry and his Hottest Dance, or even RT and his Bag Fire in conjunction with Gasoline Spit will do massive amounts of damage.

Yeah. I seem to recall it was a team that was well crafted to work together rather than just strong guys. Seemed like it made sense. And it was smooth experience, considering it was the hard difficult. But I think I had some straight up luck too. Didn't lose anyone in russian roulette, for example

Sounds like you just had a good team and got lucky then.
How come none of the uncles explained to Buddy that Olathe is incredibly dangerous, or that Brad isn’t a terrible guy? Seemed to me like they took every opportunity to fill her head with delusions that she’s the savior of mankind, and that Brad’s the worst person ever, since they take every opportunity to shit on him face to face despite being childhood friends, and Brad being genuinely happy to see Rick alive and well after Area 1. I was also certain that their little talk about giving Buddy to Rando "setting them for life" was big reason why they decided to bring her to him.
I think it’s worth it to actually get a scene where we see Lisa and Brad interact with each other, especially when it’s before she was driven to the brink. I think Austin always saw it as a failure on his part that we never really learned anything about Lisa the person, and instead we only learn about the biased views that Brad and Buzzo had about her. I wish we got a few more scenes where we got to know more about her, or even a full official remake of Lisa: The First that could expand on her character.
>I think Austin always saw it as a failure on his part that we never really learned anything about Lisa the person, and instead we only learn about the biased views that Brad and Buzzo had about her.
I always thought that that was the entire point, that the namesake of the game who's indirectly responsible for everything is only ever seen via the guilt-ridden memories of delusions of those closest to her, and the player is never able to truly know what kind of person she was.
It is, but he admitted he fricked up by adding that one epilogue in Joyful, and being edgy in his Twitter responses, which caused everyone to think that Lisa was worse than any other character in the series, and Buzzo was good boy who was just a victim, when he just meant to say that Lisa was the worst written character. I think putting it as a reward behind a secret super boss reward where you have to sacrifice a lot still keeps the idea that we know very little of her, but also gives us just a little bit more characterization like Joyful’s Lisa Epilogue, along with more characterization for Marty and Grandpa Armstrong.
Yes. The fight is just mean. >At about a quarter of its HP left, Marty's face will start morphing into a mouth full of sharp teeth at the end of every turn, using a move called "Psyche Sap". Every time this move is performed, every single member of Brad's gang will have a random one of their base stats lowered permanently. While this isn't a very big deal for the interchangeable party members, Brad will get rapidly weaker the longer the fight continues as he will always be present on every future attempt.
Keeping him Pissed just prevents him from using using Consume, the permakill move. The idea is to go all the way to phase 3, either keep him pissed or only fight him for 3 rounds, do as much damage as you can to Marty and Spider Sacs, and run away on turn 4 or whenever he’s no longer Pissed so you can use the Sac fluid to level up your guys and heal with the items you get from the first two phases, then try again.
How happy do you think Dingaling was when he donated that much, got a picture of Mike, then saw his work of designing the character was already pretty much done?
I’m thinking somewhere around 8 to 10 years. Probably 10, since it’s think it’d make sense for Brad to have his dojo in full swing around 21 or 22, while Lisa commits neck rope by 11 or 12.
I think the flower lore was one of the best things they added to the definitive edition, Brad literally can’t let it go and passes the guilt onto his kid who then instead of letting it wilt decides to nurture it with the love Brad did show instead
Nope. I just got the games on sale and finally got around to playing it after all these years, so I wanted to talk about it after playing through all of it.
The only people who actually defend Marty are the ones who don’t know the extent of what he put Brad and Lisa through, and get swayed by his kind words and tearful apologies. Just like Buddy did.
Yes it is. Even if it wasn’t, he still abandoned Baby Lisa to be taken care of by Brad as a child while he went God knows where, still beat Brad through his childhood, still raped Lisa over the course of years which ultimately resulted in her suicide, along with making them live a shithole of a house and never giving them anything while he gets drunk off his ass on his chair. Not to mention all the horrible shit The First implied.
>gf kills herself after she asks him to disfigure her so her dad will stop raping her >choose to not murder her dad and instead cut the face of a fellow student at a dojo he goes to because the owner was his gf’s brother and the adoptive father of the kid >then go on to help destroy the world
Genuinely what the frick was Bernard’s major malfunction? I don’t believe that Lisa made him like this. He had to have had some other issues outside of her.
Lisa is the one who got Buzzo into sadistic shit, she had them cut off a puppy's foot and probably kill who knows how many other animals so he'd be comfortable enough to properly mutilate Lisa.
Marty wasn't at the funeral, maybe he went into hiding after seeing Lisa hung himself-leaving Buzzo with no primary target to go after.
Brad did go to the funeral. He was the only one present. I’m asking why Bernard didn’t go if he loved her so much, and instead stole her casket and body after the fact.
Bernard was just a little kid when Lisa killed herself, there's a real chance his parents just didn't let him go.

I don’t believe that. I think he was being a spiteful little shit, and went to attack the Armstrong Dojo around that time. Hell, if his parents gave a damn, or even existed, why wouldn’t they ask him why the buzzsaw disappeared and came back covered in blood?

I mean there's a chance his parents just didn't give a shit about him, child abuse is rampant in Olathe afterall.
He was a bully who, instead of taking his pain and using it to make something of himself, ended up following Marty's path - just replace sex with violence.
>grandpa armstrong's single bit of dialog applies to so much more than just marty
god. that's really good fricking writing, man. all this time and austin still has it. frick man. i really hope he does another game.
Grandpa Armstrong made a lot of mistakes, abandoning Lisa and never loving Marty being among them, but I believe his words ultimately held some truth to them, and that he did the things he did because he was trying to help. He’s why Brad became the man he was, and inherited both the good and bad from him.
If it’s not Brad’s fault, or Lisa’s own fault, he has to accept that he played a role in her suicide, and that’s too much for him to bare. He doesn’t want to take accountability, so he’ll blame everyone else before himself, while also not making a single attempt to find Marty.
Simple. While Marty was physically mediocre, his psychic aura was utterly unmatched. Nobody else even came close. He was only killed when Brad was rendered mindless by joy, and thus immune to Marty's psychic powers.
obviously the Rando Army, the Infinity Franchise is just full of losers and old men, Rando Army is a trained fighting force with a cohesive leader and are usually on the same page
>Be Rando >Try your (very limited except physically) best >Get mauled almost to death by random nutjobs on the street >Try to start some gang to impose some order >Get mauled almost to death by your teacher >Then your teacher's daughter has the great idea of going around killing pacifists and monsters to prove she means business
Poor Rando should have ran away, he wasn't made for Mad Max society.
Brad was his father. He referred to Buddy as his sister, and Brad’s friends knew about the adoption, and told Buddy that Dusty was his son. Why else would Brad get so mad at them for mentioning Dusty, and say he never had a son?
Do not play Pain Mode first. Take your time with the normal difficulty first to get a hang of things. Then you can try out Pain Mode after beating the game once or twice.
I've only ever played it on Pain Mode, so I've missed stuff from Normal that Pain Mode replaces. If you have a head for RPGs and have learned to abuse buffs/debuffs (I don't play a ton of RPGs, closest thing I'd compare it to is Nocturne I guess) then it really isn't that hard outside of bullshit fights with instakills and the like. You just have to be willing to roll the dice and space out your saves while exploring so you can get some progress in before saving in a new area. Or, be willing to retread a lot of ground if you save prematurely.
that is a surprisingly common tactic used by abusive people who simply do not and/or cannot compute actual love beyond the material.
it's scarily realistic and in some sense shows that marty wanted to care about the idea of his kids despite all of the horrible shit he did to them in practice.
I love the kind of woman that will actually just kill me. You know when I left the house today I was just thinking, "Damn, I really hope some hot chick paints my brains all over some fricking hallway."
And here we are.
I mean really, just absolutely destroy me. I'm talkin' full on, watermelon-in-the-thighs level Carnage. And I want it to scare the shit outta me. I mean I hope I piss myself. I hope I piss myself and you call me your little "peepee pisspiss boy."
I want you to frick me up. I mean I want you to make me your b***h. Your little peepee-piss-myself-bitch. I want it to get embarrassing. I mean like... Weirdly embarrassing. Unsanitary, too. We should entirely be different people, by the end of the first eight hours. Do you understand what I'm trying to say here? I mean, I'm a real freak. I'm not normal.
I'm imagining a secret boss that you have to activate by being a girl or dressed as one and the crash effect that plays when a battle starts right after he says 'You have to crush me...' like this is his last hoorah
Don’t be disingenuous. She didn’t hurt animals at all, and certainly not for any sadistic reasons. She asked Bernard to do it one animal to prepare him to mutilate her in a last ditch effort to prevent Marty from raping her. She was a victim, and Buzzo’s bullshit should never be taken as fact.
If she just wanted him to mutilate her she would have just made him do it. She had enough control over him to make him do it to random animals. It was likely more than one also, or else the name BUZZO wouldn't have become a thing. >She's a victim
If you have any actual life experience you would know victims tend to create more victims if not properly looked after, and Lisa definitely falls into that camp. LISA is about cycles of abuse, Lisa would have perpetuated that cycle.
Shitpost meme format inspired by pretentious and delusional Star Wars prequels fan where you basically pretend a work is much more complex and requires study to properly "understand" it.
This isn't really true, Arnold is supernaturally strong, along with a bunch of other characters in the world. Arnold kills a joy mutant in a few punches, makes craters in the walls, and only lost to Alex (as per Ed) because Arnold had been fighting three days straight, without a break, before Alex stumbled upon him.
The Lisa world is full of idiots, so even people with VHS or fake dojo karate can survive so long as they pick and choose their battles with drug addicts.
I remember reading that Prime Arnold is around Sindy Gallows' power, Alex and Joel really got lucky finding Arnold near the end of his rampage, though i do like how some mods have it so if you meet Arnold as early as you can, he turns into a super boss
Joy mutants in-game can twist off or bite a man's head off. That's a lot of power, and the men of Olathe spend a lot of effort keeping Joy mutants population down.
I created a character tier list about a year ago before the DE came out. I never got around to playing it, but I am curious how they generally got nerfed/buffed.
How was he so powerful
Kickstarter backer boss.
He's just a guy named Mike
He's a trucker, drugs and coffee is his blood.

Because MikeMnemonic is a big guy.

for you

This is the strongest man in Olathe.
>gets defeated by narrow doorways and childish insults
More like Dumben-X.
At least he didn’t become a Joy Addict and die, or be a gay who necks himself, like some other people I know.
How is he stronger than Satan, Buzzo, and Manifestation of Marty?
I’m pretty sure that Brad and his gang were playing along with it.
>Brad game overs himself for knowingly messing up their game
Kino.
I could see him feeling a little bit guilty about it, since they’re incredibly childlike and harmless in what they’re doing, and they aren’t really hurting anyone.
this, he literally can't be killed and would one hit you

I just like breasts. Male or female.
gross
Don't be jealous.
I AM DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD
>is a cuck before the Flash

He was a b***h anyway. Sticky was the only decent uncle Buddy had.
Rando's army ignores his orders constantly throughout the game and dlc, that should let you know what would've happened if Brad did nothing.
Isn't olathe the only non-iradiated place left in the world?
The fact that everyone was out to frick buddy kind of demonstrated Brad was right to hide her from the world. I seriously doubt she was even close to ready for child birth so anyone claiming fricking her was for the sake of the continuity of the human race was pretty much full of shit and just wanted to frick a kid.

Love that the reward for defeating the secret superboss is a debuff to all your party members
I think it’s worth it to actually get a scene where we see Lisa and Brad interact with each other, especially when it’s before she was driven to the brink. >Grandpa Armstrong
Almost makes me wonder if Marty became such a bully as a way of rebelling against Grandpa Armstrong's loveless way of life
It’d fit with the theme of Armstrong children lashing out out their fathers, and becoming more like them in an attempt to not be like them.
>a debuff to all your party members
No fricking way, really? On top of nigh-guaranteed instant-kills outside of cheesing strats? Hahaha
Yes. The fight is just mean.
>At about a quarter of its HP left, Marty's face will start morphing into a mouth full of sharp teeth at the end of every turn, using a move called "Psyche Sap". good lord, and keeping him pissed won't prevent this?
Keeping him Pissed just prevents him from using using Consume, the permakill move. The idea is to go all the way to phase 3, either keep him pissed or only fight him for 3 rounds, do as much damage as you can to Marty and Spider Sacs, and run away on turn 4 or whenever he’s no longer Pissed so you can use the Sac fluid to level up your guys and heal with the items you get from the first two phases, then try again.
Also, trying again after running away starts changing up the first two phases on repeat tries.
I mean it’s not like there’s anything left to do after marty
The final fight with Rando’s army will be a bit harder and take longer, but yeah, there’s not much left to do by that point.
And tons of EXP to help off set that.
how does Joy taste like?
not good, but it makes you feel good
The effects overpower the taste according to Dingaling.
Buddy didn't like the taste. Probably like taking a bitter perscription pill until it starts numbing you.
White Gatorade.
vanilla, chocolate, or strawberry.
>Ywn raise a Hapa daughter
Brad was right to keep perfection from the scum of Olathe.
>man of shad
A hapa adopted daughter that’s also his maternal half sister.
Damn. Marty fricked that?
How happy do you think Dingaling was when he donated that much, got a picture of Mike, then saw his work of designing the character was already pretty much done?
Why didn't Buzzo just kill Brad?
he wanted to make him suffer like Lisa suffered because of his inaction.
>You haven’t suffered enough for what you did to her.
What was the age gap between Brad and Lisa?
I’m thinking somewhere around 8 to 10 years. Probably 10, since it’s think it’d make sense for Brad to have his dojo in full swing around 21 or 22, while Lisa commits neck rope by 11 or 12.
Lisa the pointless MU update NEVER EVER WHERE IS IT ED, EEEED EEEEEED YOU HACK WHERE IS IT
Every time somebody asks about MU, Ed pushes it back a year out of spite.
The fact that Hopeless will probably be out before MU is amusing to me, in a sad way.
I truly am Lisa: The Hopless.
NO ONE CARES ABOUT YOUR SISTER RIGHT NOW
WE ALMOST JUST DIED OURSELVES
God YIIK is funny
>Fly after the Manifestation of Marty fight
Who would win between Alex YIIK and Alex Pointless?
If it's gameplay accurate Alex YIIK he would fricking solo with LP toss
>I made your whole face bright pink! It didn't match your face at all!
>I even put lipstick on you
hahaha-dear lord this changes everything
Buzzo really wanted Brad to suffer in every way he could imagine.
I think the flower lore was one of the best things they added to the definitive edition, Brad literally can’t let it go and passes the guilt onto his kid who then instead of letting it wilt decides to nurture it with the love Brad did show instead
Why is there suddenly more LISA threads popping up did some eceleb or a new fangame come out recently?
Nope. I just got the games on sale and finally got around to playing it after all these years, so I wanted to talk about it after playing through all of it.
I'm really looking forward to Heartless, Undone, and Fool. They got the coolest trailers.
Why are so many Lisa fans like this?
Media illiteracy is a serious problem in our society.
At least it's better than Marty apologists.
I refuse to believe anybody is a genuine Marty apologist.
People only say that shit as a joke. Obviously no one actually defends marty
The only people who actually defend Marty are the ones who don’t know the extent of what he put Brad and Lisa through, and get swayed by his kind words and tearful apologies. Just like Buddy did.
Joyful isn't canon
Sure but The First and The Painful are.
It is, and Brad lost his virginity to Lisa.
>gf kills herself after she asks him to disfigure her so her dad will stop raping her
>choose to not murder her dad and instead cut the face of a fellow student at a dojo he goes to because the owner was his gf’s brother and the adoptive father of the kid
>then go on to help destroy the world

Marty wasn't at the funeral, maybe he went into hiding after seeing Lisa hung himself-leaving Buzzo with no primary target to go after.
We have no idea what kind of animal it was, and the dialogue from that scene implies that’s the first and only time she asked him to hurt an animal.
Why didn’t he go to the funeral either?
Who Brad? Probably couldn't handle the guilt, he probably ran off too since it's likely around the same time that Buzzo saws Dusty's face off.
Brad did go to the funeral. He was the only one present. I’m asking why Bernard didn’t go if he loved her so much, and instead stole her casket and body after the fact.
Bernard was just a little kid when Lisa killed herself, there's a real chance his parents just didn't let him go.

I mean there's a chance his parents just didn't give a shit about him, child abuse is rampant in Olathe afterall.
My mistake, for some reason I thought it was a Buzzo flashback when its at Lisa's funeral service.
Doesn't the game literally call this bull shit out and that no Buzzo was also fricked in the head and tries to blame it all on Lisa.
that marty's-sloppy-seconds-pussy game was ridiculous
He was a bully who, instead of taking his pain and using it to make something of himself, ended up following Marty's path - just replace sex with violence.
>grandpa armstrong's single bit of dialog applies to so much more than just marty
god. that's really good fricking writing, man. all this time and austin still has it. frick man. i really hope he does another game.
Imagine if Grandpa Armstrong lived long enough to see Olathe turn into a world filled with the kind of bullies he hated.
Grandpa Armstrong made a lot of mistakes, abandoning Lisa and never loving Marty being among them, but I believe his words ultimately held some truth to them, and that he did the things he did because he was trying to help. He’s why Brad became the man he was, and inherited both the good and bad from him.
>abandoning Lisa
Could be he believed that having Lisa around would distract Brad from the "pain" he was supposed to feel.
Ironic, given that having Lisa around would be the most painful thing he could possibly endure.
He was only killed when Brad was rendered mindless by joy, and thus immune to Marty's psychic powers.
>physically mediocre
This is Brad's perception of him, in reality Marty couldn't even begin to muster resistance against just Brad once he mustered the will to kill him.
Or Armstrongs are just really fricking strong.
Berny was the original Denji
Dingaling isn't the sanest or smartest writer
No, it was intentional. Buddy calls him a piece of shit for that exact reason
Who would win?
Rando’s Army.
Goes hard, mind if I screenshot?
Clint genuinely annihilated by himself.

Yes it is.

frick man. i was there, too.
Context?
I'm about to play this game soon enough.
Should I play on the hardest difficulty it gives to me or should I notch it down for a first run?
Play normal mode first, pain mode limits the amount of saves you have so you'll very likely get stuck.

I want to know what happened to Grandma Armstrong. Did she die during Marty’s birth or something? How come not a single character mentions her at all?
>Marty’s final attempt at getting Brad to not leave was to say he’ll buy him a new shirt
How can one man be this much of a piece of shit?
that is a surprisingly common tactic used by abusive people who simply do not and/or cannot compute actual love beyond the material.
it's scarily realistic and in some sense shows that marty wanted to care about the idea of his kids despite all of the horrible shit he did to them in practice.
She was Number 1!
The fairest girl in all of Olathe.
The only girl in all of Olathe.
>that maniacal face
i'm starting to see why all the men in olathe threw themselves at her blade...
Ma'am...
Please...
You have to crush me...
i think you would be a perfect fit for olathe
>t. least perverted olathian
Frick Olathian. That’s the least perverted Lovely.
Someone add this man as an NPC in a lisa fangame and make him say all of this as his dialogue.
I'm imagining a secret boss that you have to activate by being a girl or dressed as one and the crash effect that plays when a battle starts right after he says 'You have to crush me...' like this is his last hoorah

>ywn get mounted and raped by the last woman on earth as her hormones send her into a berserker lust-driven fury
Why live.
Imagine being kept as her rape slave
To think, when their lives were at stake men literally wasted their attack chances to lick Buddy or even just stare creepily at her.
I understand them completely.
If Lisa lived should would have turned out worse than Marty.
>verification not required
Shut the frick up, Buttfart.
Judging from her behavior she probably would have turned out as a serial killer or something. So about on the level of Brad's party members.
My beautiful wife.
.
What was his problem, and why did Austin say he’s worse than Marty?
He murdered his son for a petty reason right? Murder > Rape
> Murder > Rape
What if you only murdered one guy, but someone else raped like 50 chicks?
I would say the rapist would be worse, due to causing more people to suffer.
What the Hell am I looking at?
What does Hinduism have to do with Pointless?
Shitpost meme format inspired by pretentious and delusional Star Wars prequels fan where you basically pretend a work is much more complex and requires study to properly "understand" it.
>Mein Kampf not mentioned anywhere

Who can beat him?
that comment makes sense to me almost everyone in Lisa is old and sick it makes sense, anon, do you think you would survive in lisa's world?
That's a lot of power, and the men of Olathe spend a lot of effort keeping Joy mutants population down.
>sick and weak
this is specific to Pointless and doesn't track for Painful, but no, I'd still get my ass kicked in the setting of Pointless
why did dingaling do it bros

Doesn't matter.
That'd be funny to see a LISA movie open like that.
And then you have the one-eyed girl with a sword.
How.
joyful isnt canon
Why is everyone in apocalyptical world so fat?!!
It's only like 5-10 years since all women died. Plenty of processed foods to eat and gain weight on.
I created a character tier list about a year ago before the DE came out. I never got around to playing it, but I am curious how they generally got nerfed/buffed.
