You think “hard” games are better because you are addicted to the false sense of achievement and pride that comes with overcoming a challenging game. If you had a career or real aspirations to work toward, you wouldn’t mind games with normal difficulty. Games should function as a way to decompress after a long day of actual tasks and achievement. Games that are artificially difficult for the sake of difficulty are for actual losers, not to mention “casual” games are usually more fun. You can’t refute this.
I won't refute this, enjoy playing candy crush with the actual winners.
I agree.
Sure I can refute that. People who are driven want games to be easy? Then explain the literal demographic shift in any mmorpg when you go between the pvp/hardcore pve community and the RP/overland easy content community. It’s a pretty stark drop off in quality of person.
They are both stinky MMO players i don't quite get the distinction?
Depends on the game for me. If a game's mechanics allow me to dodge basically all incoming damage through enough skill, then I will go for the highest difficulty. If a higher difficulty is just -% damage dealt and +% damage taken with a bunch of hitscan enemies I just play on normal.
I've never liked playing a game because it's difficult. I just enjoy good games because I like vidya as a hobby.
I like Sekiro because it's good, I don't give a frick about achievement and don't feel "proud" because I have beaten a game., I just enjoy playing a good game and appreciate its gameplay, aesthetic, atmosphere, etc.
You are projecting into other what you believe they think, but that's just what (you) think.
My net worth is in the 7 figures. I do not enjoy difficulty in real life. Challenges to overcome in videogames or in fun competitive settings like chess or martial arts however? Sign me up.
Not everyone is a corporate drone troony.
Shit, give me like 5k so i can buy a car, anon.
I'll give you something better, precious advice on how to be successful
wake up early, work hard, be a good team player, never stop learning, and inherit your father's multi-million company
I respect your honesty
> You can only decompress by being a little casual b***h
Ya no, you just got filtered by sekiro and it’s not even a hard game. It’s literally a rhythm game and you can beat every encounter if you actually listened to the motto of the game, hesitation is defeat. Get filtered and get good
I don't think Sekiro is a hard game to begin with.
>games should play themselves
I can tell you just got done chewing the controller and are decompressing with another garbage thread, OP.
I like going to the gym after work to relieve stress and lift heavy metal but I guess by OPs logic I should just walk on the treadmill for a few minutes.
boohoo cry about it, you're not entitled to the devs' attention because you want an easier game 🙂
I don't need to refute it
you will burn yourself out and be bored of games because all you do is play baby shit
enjoy your baby games with chore lists
I just wanna feel what the player character feels. why engage with the work if you aren't taking risks?
You and your game journo buddies don't work a hard or demanding job though so by your logic shouldn't you be playing hard games?
>all that text just to say you got filtered by the ogre
how embarrassing
What's with the constant narrative that to relax you must play the most braindead shit?
I have a high-stress career and enjoyed Sekiro a great deal.
>You can’t refute this.
I easily can by saying I don't exclusively play hard games. I like playing ARPGs for example where the gameplay loop is dead simple and takes no brain activity at all. I also like Sekiro and souls games very much
Feel like tarkov is significantly more difficult than any instance in any souls game every match, and with much higher variety. It does feel good to get out of a raid juiced, even though you get shit on 50% of the time
>You can’t refute this.
Your argument imagines a person that exclusively plays "hard" games. You lost from the get-go.
What happens when a person both enjoys playing Animal Crossing and Sekiro? Do you shit your pants because it doesn't fit your strawman?
You wanna be comforted by virtual pixels after a “long day hard at work” I want my brain to exercise even more after my hard work by playing games that challenge me and reward me for using my brain.
Enjoy being a b***h even when it comes to pixel bit bots
Your entire argument crumbles right after the first 6 words. I don't think hard games are better. I think good games are usually hard.
>You can’t refute this.
I easily can because every single neet I know spends all day slaving away in mind numbingly easy number get bigger gear treadmills while "difficult" games like the one in your picture are loved by every single normalgay.
>if you like a game that is hard you are a loser
kek, nice argument
>wall of text
>all to cope with being bad at leisure activities
lol
Agree. I used to love hard games, but now I train Judo, Kendo/Iaido and Karate.
No enjoyment from playing games with protagonists artificially weak
>You can’t refute this.
Yeah, I can. With one simple phrase. Different strokes for different folks. Nobody can tell anyone what is more fun due to subjectivity in entertainment.
t. Operations director in charge of hundreds of people and responsible for millions of dollars in revenue that hates when games are too easy and just deals with it when he fricks up and loses progress.
>Games should function as a way to decompress after a long day of actual tasks and achievement.
Nah. That's what the crotch goblins are for.
>So you took on painting as a hobby and think “realistic” paintings are better because you are addicted to the false sense of achievement and pride that comes with overcoming a challenging art style. If you had a career or real aspirations to work toward, you wouldn’t mind paintings with normal difficulty to draw. Painting should function as a way to decompress after a long day of actual tasks and achievement. Art styles that are artificially difficult for the sake of difficulty are for actual losers, not to mention “casual” drawings are usually more fun. You can’t refute this.
>Simon says
>difficult
Keep coping moron. Regardkess, the whole point of a GAME is to be challenged. If a game cannot be challenging it cannot be interesting. Keep coping with whatever excuse you need to feel better about yourself since you are too childish to just admit something is too challenging for you.
>You can’t refute this.
yes i can with 2 simple sentences
1. (You) problem
2. stop projecting
filtered.
>Games should function as a way to decompress after a long day of actual tasks and achievement
Who the frick are you to decide what videogames should and shouldn't be? If you want to decompress after a long day of work read a fricking book.
OP you're failing to comprehend that some people are just better at games and don't actually find "hard" games hard at all
Just because you're not as good at something as someone else doesn't mean you have to try and devalue their experience in the process
Some people are better at art
Some people are better at sports
Some people are better at games
It's not their fault you're a casual b***h that got filtered by, god forbid, a baby game such as fricking sekiro
>If you had a career or real aspirations to work toward, you wouldn’t mind games with normal difficulty
I got my PhD. things were going well until the 2020 steal. now I can't get a job because I'm white. I play hard games and have achieved a lot so far in my life. shits's about to get real in the next 12 months and those are going to be the most trying times yet. I'm glad to have built up my mental and physical fortitude in preparation. RaHoWa 2024 is going to be the best Battle Royale game.
Pandemic was the easiest time to get a postdoc. There was no international travel.
honestly anon, I agree with you, but swap "hard" for PVP. I just don't care about gamer cred or being good compared to others anymore. I got other more important shit to be dealing with
