>be Sora's mom >Son disappears while world is being swallowed by DARKNESS >World is restored but son is still missing >Suddenly forget you even have a son because of Namine >Years later remember your son exists AND IS STILL MISSING
This woman must be fricking traumatized
Sora's mom is one of the funniest things that happened when Nomura went full chuuni.
In KH1 it was there to show that Sora was just a normal kid in Destiny Islands. A couple games later, Sora is so divorced from any sense of normalcu that he took the broken heart of someone into his, had a clone-thingy of himself running around, was almost turned into xehanort, can wake up hearts, died a once and was isekaid to Tokyo.
At this point i wonder if they even remember they put that line in the first game and if they do, i wouldn't be surprised if it turns out she made sora to be some uberkeyblade wielder or something.
The way the characters are haphazardly shown to have actual, normal lives prior to the games' events is, for all the uniquely and monumentally insane crapfrickery that their story consists of, probably the single weirdest element in them for just how offhandedly it's treated.
Like you could probably spend hours reading crazy attempted wiki explanations of what the frick is going on, and have no idea Sora was supposed to live in a regular house when not on Destiny Islands.
It almost seems like some kind of Disney mandate. Sora must have a parent to show he's an actual kid just like the player. So Nomura just threw in a single voiceline to please the Disney Execs.
I find the idea that they were orphans trapped on a single island funnier than the fact they had families but decided to kill themselves out at sea for Kairi's sake.
Kinda reminds me of Deku's dad. The guy like, exists but wasn't even there when the kid was in a comma. Writers are weird with the parents of young protagonists, like they have to exist even if they do jack shit.

I haven't played it in ages, but I would assume KH1 felt really the detached from the rest of the games. I remember back then as just a weird mash up between FF and Disney.
in KHIX it's going to be revealed all the games were a dream or it was all riku kairi and sora playing together and sora's mom is going to be revealed at the last second before the end of the game, which is also the end of the franchise
>busy making smut in blender >decide to put on random lore video about kingdom hearts >mfw learn that there's ANOTHER sora named ventus
I'm kinda glad I stopped keeping up around 358/2 lmao
Sora's mom among other things is what makes me feel like the writing in KH feels really inhuman.
Every almost every KH OC character feels very disconnected and devoid of any level of normalcy where they seem to only have opinions and goals if it pertains to the main plot about light and darkness and most of what they're talking about is their feelings whenever they meet each other. I replayed BBS a few months ago and it immediately got me thinking about where Terra and Aqua came from in the first place. The Land of Departure is just dirt. They don't have any memories with each other outside of keyblade training but act like they're the closest people in the world.
The only character who I think this makes the most sense with is Roxas because he was literally born out of thin air and immediately turned into a wagie by Xemnas. We've had Sora for so long that I'm honestly finding it weird that we don't really know any of his opinions besides "must beat the darkness and save friends"
KH is really bizarre because Nomura has shown he can channel his autism into genuine character writing with stuff like TWEWY. I think part of why KH3 felt like such a rushed wrapping up of 99% of KH plot points is because KH4 is going to be a "soft reboot" of sorts, since basically every game after 2 had it's devcycle fricked with by Square Enix management nightmares.
2 ended with everyone back at Destiny Islands. Then they decided to milk it forever. I can only assume Yen Sid mom got permission from Sora's mom to send her son off to die in his sleep.
i'm surprised they haven't retconned his parents into being Xehanort or something insane

I'd be surprised if Nomura even remembers that he gave Sora a mom. Also would.

I thought Nomura wasn't in charge of the story at all in kh1.
I find the idea that they were orphans trapped on a single island funnier than the fact they had families but decided to kill themselves out at sea for Kairi's sake.
it only became weird with the later games
kh1 is the best story because it's entirely self-contained and bookended
BLACKED RAW

KH3 doesn't even have FF characters except for shopkeeper moogles
Reminder they got Namine to gaslight all his friends/family into thinking he never existed. She'll probably do it again.

sora's just some stray that she feeds, she probably figured he got hit by a car when he didn't touch his spaghetti after a few days
A good parent of a good child will always care about their wellbeing.
Sora doesn't even grasp the concept of homework. Ms. Sora is either homeschooling him or she's neglecting his education.

Built for Big Riku wiener
>Sora canonically doesn't know what a phone is before 3
>Couldn't even call to let her know he's ok.
she looks like she sleeps in her son's bed when he isn't home

nomura didnt write TWEWY, he only does character design
Pretty sure he did a lot of the character outlines and story concepts for the first game. NEO TWEWY was the one where he took more of a backseat role.
