Idk about those anons but I personally like the occasional subtle shiny.
You actually don't need to - just send out your lead Pokemon to auto-battle. They're programmed to only attack normal Pokemon, so if it ignores your suspected shiny and goes after something else, you know you've got the right one. If your Pokemon attacks it, then it's not shiny.
Here's the thing, once you hit what, 60 deaths? the shiny rate for the swarm maxes out so there's no reason to kill any more than that so the best method is just to reset spawns by starting a picnic and exiting.
That way you don't have to kill more than you need to

Sometimes it’s not about the colour. Sometimes it’s about the sparkle. It annoys me that you can’t have a base colour shiny, which might sound ridiculous but I personally like some of the Pokémon in their default palette.
