World of Warcraft currently has over 7 million active subscribers. World of Warcraft remains the most popular MMORPG on the market, with roughly 4 million more players than the next 'competitor'. Any accusations of WoW's death were greatly exaggerated, the game is still very popular.
Save this image so you can remind FFXIV groomers that statistics beat anecdotes any day.
Hail to the King, baby.
It's All Fucked Shirt $22.14 |
proof?
The absolute numbers in the bottom chart are from a Bellular video. Basically, the mick made it the frick up based on the last reported numbers from WoD, but the CN sub model changed completely between the last official numbers in WoD and Legion, so the starting point is extremely questionable
>Seething
No one's playing your child groomer console game. WoW is king, know your place
Internal leaks
Retail isn't dead, as the graph shows even Shadowlands at its lowest had 1-2 million subs more than any other MMO
No one plays Runescape lol
>Internal leaks
Top chart is from GDC, bottom chart is Bellular extrapolating numbers based on 5.6M reported in WoD. You didn't even know where this came from lmao.
>Cope
No one is playing an instanced "MMO" full of child groomers that will doxx you if you don't enjoy the 500 hour mandatory MSQ before you can play endgame.
I accept your concession.
Stats don't lie, WoW is king.
Stats don't lie, but the mick lies about stats.
Japslop for consoles will never be the biggest MMORPG in the world, so even if you think the stats are wrong, you still have to admit that WoW is the largest MMORPG.
I win regardless, consider seppuku
>you still have to admit that WoW is the largest MMORPG
Literally how when we don't have numbers?
I can never tell if it's an unironic Blizzgay or FFtroon trying to make Blizzgays look insane anymore either. This genre deserves to be dead.
>I can never tell if it's an unironic Blizzgay or FFtroon
Probably both, some anon admitted to larping as both for shitpost fuel but I don't know it was genuine or "i'm just pretending to be moronic" moment
I dunno homie, you were crying about Mick dooming for the past 5 years and calling his videos a lie and now you take his fat frick at face value?
There is a reason why they didn't post actual graph with aprox. numbers.
It's just a visualization that's meant to show how splitting the game between multiple versions will lead to a bigger playerbase simply because it caters to old gays and zoomers.
No king rules forever.
What stats?
There was nothing given except some kid drawing lines on mspaint
>Internal leaks
So made up numbers
Classic saved it
Hi, John
What happened to Barry?
Lmao you're so fricking mad you absolute schizo. Everyone knows FFXIV cultists are fricking insane. You're probably gritting your teeth and thinking about stabbing me for making this post, just because you can't handle that WoW is more popular than FFXIV lmao.
Watch Dawntrail flop and then get back to me
Didn’t realize retail was so dead. BFA almost ends the franchise and ClassicKINGS save the day. Then they make the dumb move to go to TBC and the game dies again. Now Hardcore and SOD and sub numbers through the roof. VanillaCHADS can’t stop winning
runescaoe
>unlabeled axis
>guessing what the numbers mean
It's amazing how they conned their investors this easily
They have been conning their investors for years.
Are there any MMOs worth playing?
No, it's a dead shit genre that will just get you into autistic slap fights.
Is this true?
I've always been fascinated with the concept of a "living world that changes with player interaction" but at the same time that sounds like enormous pressure.
Most of the popular mmos are just theme parks with no change, mostly formulaic with some overshot type of content that doesn't fit mmos that are received poorly.
If it's your first mmo adventure I recommend playing SoD, XIV, GW2 or OSRS
>[insert game sucks] thoe and you are a shill!
Don't care, I'm not a monogamer
go back to bc and the one with arthas
How much of that is classic WoW? Not even the most hopelessly addicted WoWgays I know play WoW anymore.
you can see how much of it is classic wow. it doubled the sub count but people who like classic wow don't have time for it anymore so no one actually max levelled. that's why classic bc and wotlk flopped
>paid blizzard shills shilling their dead game on Ganker
nobody falling for this Black person, next they gonna claim overwatch is still alive LMAO
>Troon posting tranime pedobait
FFXIV player spotted
troon? I don't play your dead troony game.
Then he'll tell you that you're poor for not liking D4 in a post he got paid 2 cents to make.
I would unironically play wow if it was free to play or bundled with a xbox cloudstreaming sub thing
I would unironically play wow if it was free to play or bundled with a xbox cloudstreaming sub thing

The graph is fake you idiots.
Do you genuinely believe that they have made it back to legion numbers during an all time lack or interest in MMOs AND after losing half their sub numbers (China)?
>b-but they didn’t count China
Not only did they count Chinas numbers, they did it dishonestly to inflate numbers by having any account with ANY gametime be counted as a sub, even if it was just 1 hr on an inactive account.
WoW is dead
>I-It's FAAAAAAAKEEE!!!
>But look at these raider.io stats for this savage raid!!!! FFXIV has 25 million players!!!!
lmao
What crawled up his ass and died lately?
>drawing an unlabeled line on MSpaint is real
>scraping user data from millions of players isn't
Curious selection there.
i didn't even this graph was supposed to look good
it looks like any tech company's value bouncing on the nyse
The graph doesn't have a y-axis so it doesn't have actual numbers, it only shows relative numbers. It could be that if you exclude China, the relative number of subscribers right now is the same as when legion launched.
>1 hr on an inactive account
Yeah, the time we paid when I was in CN didn't expire for 2 years, so anyone who logged in and left over time would've been counted as "active" with how I read their sub definition. Net cafe was different, I think you actually just paid for the exact amount of time, idk I never did that.
In John Hight's defense making this chart without showing a drop from CN support ending, the presentation was about how they improved player retention in DF, showing that drop would just raise a million more questions and cause way more dooming because people can't be bothered to think about context.
instead of being mad that wow is winning, be mad that ffxiv is a shit game
>LOOK MA, IM KING OF SHIT MOUNTAIN
>You thought it was over?
WoW as a MMO has the same thing going on as TF2 is for shooters. It's that safe online game that you use to play that was ultra popular and really hasn't changed much and it'll always be there for you.
This poster is a troll who just wants to drum up WoW vs XIV drama for laughs
WoW doesn't even reach 1mil players globally, log in for proof, I've seen private servers with 10k players much more alive than any retail server.
Check out this tiny kitten guys
wtf how?
The only person that I know who still plays wow is canadian. That pretty much tells you about who the audience of this crap is.
>...le woke!!!
FFXIV has a main character voiced by a troon now
Because it would blow up in his face because he's always been so confident he is right. Use your head
Ok? And WoW has multiple troon characters. The god of the fricking afterlife is a troon.
Your response?
I don't know why you went straight to the woke angle. I brought it up him being canadian because in conversation he constantly lies about shit, dicksucking blizzard or complaining about trump. Like every fricking canadian
Asmongold didn't even bother to react to this wowtroony cope LMAO
Black person if that graph was a chart of a stock's price over its lifetime, I'd sell all my shares faster than you can say "Guh."
bros I wish I was a youtube grifter it seems fun
>make up headcanon numbers
>people are willing to die to defend those numbers
here these are my numbers, read em and weep.
If wow is supposed to be a 24/7/365 game, why do the sub numbers plummet after launches instead of stabilize or increase? Blizzard simps acting like this chart is a win?
Unlike the absolutely, colossally, mindbendingly ass-huffing gigaBlack person homosexuals in this thread that are hiding desperately behind buzzwords, giggling because they "epic le pwned the troons hehehehehheheheheheh gottem" and trying not to cry every time someone so much as hints at a critique of their favorite game, I can tell you the reason for this.
It is because that's how it has always worked. People reserve time off work for game releases. They get bored and they log out. They have another game come out and they log out. They hit max level and log out. They have to go back to work and they log out. Even if THEY don't, their fricking normie friends certainly have to, and in an MMO losing access to the people you're playing with means you, you got it, log out.
Even without reasons to quit, like "a game being asscancer fresh from Ganker's diseased, greasy shithole," there is going to be player bleed immediately that will not stop until you hit what I call the "real neutral", where the people actually invested long-term, your core playerbase, are the only ones remaining. When that 'new car smell' has worn off and the seat cushions aren't so great under your ass.
Now mind you, I look at these numberless, limp-dicked line-in-a-void charts and I laugh, because the number you see, the position of the line there, does not matter. Arguing over WoW's subs does not matter. Its time in the sun is over. It may not die, it may even continue to be reasonably successful! But it will never again be the industry-defining monolith it once was.
People aren't getting WoW tattoos anymore. People aren't making guilds and forming communities. People aren't having WoW fricking wedding ceremonies. Celebrities aren't lining up to endorse it. The moment has passed, and that's okay. Just because WoW isn't the crown israeliteel of a gaming empire anymore just means you should be pissed at Bobby "The Tick" Kotick, it doesn't mean WoW is bad.
>why do the sub numbers plummet after launches instead of stabilize or increase?
Did you miss the chart?
DF did that
DF downtrends until SoD happened
>moronic Black person cant read a fricking chart
LMAO
>less than a million of something that most people do atleast once a week, but many people will do around 5-10 a week
Holy grim…
This is wrong
Wow has 10 million subscribers right now
Reminder that a israeli CEO has more in common with the average israelite than with a white CEO.
i thought they made damned sure not to release any player count these days?
