If they choose to stick with that environment in all their games, then why not? Should Akira Toriyama change the environments in the DBZ games whenever he releases a game?

Honestly I would still want them to keep the same map but develop on it actually.

I wanna see the Hyrule kingdom that you saw on ad magazines back in the day with an actual flourishing kingdom

      >caves and depths
The caves are the same thing over and over. The depths don’t have much to do besides fighting the Yiga and getting auto build. Neither are that exciting. What’s so compelling?

        Anonymous

A lot of people are really into the vehicle building mechanics and that's super compelling for them. Personally I think vehicle building without a mouse is and always will be clunky as shit, and there was way too much effort put into this system vs making a better world

          Anonymous

Even if you do build a hover bike, you are exploring the same map. I agree with what you’re saying. The depths/skies get old quick. I have to wonder what took 6 years. Getting ascend to properly align with everything might have been time consuming? The temples are certainly low effort. I can have fun bullshitting around in TOTK, but the actual content itself (map, temples, shrines) are underwhelming.

            Anonymous

You can build a funny penis monster or Korok crucifixion machine, but why? Just to entertain yourself for the ten seconds it works? It's pointless busy work. I think the building system and ascend is what took six years, world design was done very quickly. TotK also has the worst "non puzzles" in the series. If I know the solution to a puzzle is just building something and know what to build, that is not a puzzle, it's a waste of time.

I don’t get why BOTW/TOTK inspires so much shitposting. They’re really just okay. I understand they abandoned a classic formula in favor for something new, but whatever. The OOT style became shit anyway. We’ll still have other types of Zelda games. If the shitposting is because people overrate the frick out of these 2 games, whatever. Who cares? Plenty of shit games are overrated by journalists and players alike. What is it about Zelda that ignites such shitposting? I don’t get it now that I’ve played them.

Watch Yahtzee's coverage of review scores of it, it's because Zelda has a legacy and people associate their identities with it

Zelda fans have always been cringe. There’s only 3 or 4 great Zelda games. It’s weird people have such a fascination with a basic b***h series.

All kinds. I like Zelda, don’t get me wrong. To me, it’s just like a really popular, safe band being your favorite. I think it’s just Nintendo I have a problem with. Any autistic shitposting, it’s Zelda, Smash, Mario, whatever. I’ve seen complete weirdos crying over those directs. I just don’t understand that level of fandom, I guess.

His comparison with Sonic and its fans is interesting. Most Sonic fans would shit themselves if a Sonic game got 8/10s across the board.
