XII is phenomenal but is the outlier of the franchise. XIII is closer to golden era games than XII. I can see why a lot of FF fans dislike it. Ivalice deserves its own franchise and XII should have been the starting point.

12 is secretly the best FF game if you care about anything other than super emotional moments or whatever. 6-10 do a better job at doing super high peak moments focused on an emotional core but they mostly have bad gameplay (10 has ok combat but lmao corridors). 12 has fun gameplay despite the "single player mmo" crowd, and has the best worldbuilding and honestly very well done characters that just don't get many big moments since its not that type of game.

probably still Fanfiction.net. its not as popular as it used to be but i think its still active. AO3 has a no censorship rule in place though so it allows literally every kind of degeneracy imaginable so it took over, I think other than AO3 you need to go to fandom specific sites for fanfics, or i guess wattpad, but idk i've heard wattpad is somehow worse than most fanfics.

I hate Toriyama's style of direction that can still be felt in 7R, but to actually direct a trilogy where he can indulge in his obsession, not to mention host a conference where he basically confessed his love is nothing short of based.

They really wanted everyone to believe it was going to be the future of the Final Fantasy brand until FFXIV 1.0 and vanilla FFXV finally humbled them.
15 uses the stagger system too only its called vulnerable and uses a hidden meter and it isnt filler trash like how 13 and 7r and 16 use it
also how the frick is it less of a game when you have attack, defend, dodge, block, jump, warp, d-inputs, weapon switch etc while 13 has only auto battle from a menu and less stats

It had an extremely troubled development. The first time they had a playable build of the game was the JP demo, which IIRC was released less than a year before the final game. You can also see from trailers and previews that the story was very different, with characters being playable in areas where they aren't available in the final game.
