If you liked Sundown you're already WELL aware that he draws a ton of AJ and Sunset. I was there on the ground floor when that was basically all he did.
I liked heroes of the storm a lot. I played it a ton during the beta and during 2015-2016. Eventually I cut ties with the only friend I played it with, not to mention we weren't enjoying it as much at that point, roughly around the time when the overwatch heroes were added.
I tried to launch it recently, but since I swapped to linux it doesn't seem to be launchable. I probably would have played a bit if it had, but oh well.
On a note more related to the game, for anyone who did actually play it, what were your fondest memories or favorite heroes? I loved Abathur, Cho'Gall, Medivh, and Dehaka. I fricking hate the pirate map and the raven map, and I miss haunted mines since it got removed at some point.
If I can link my Buttlenet with my Steam account and keep all my old shit, I'll give it a reinstall. It was the most fun ASShomosexualS game by far

HotS is the only good game Blizzard's made since getting bought by Activision. It's a shame Alex and Whitemane aren't as good as they are hot.
>what were your fondest memories or favorite heroes?
I'm a based pirate map enjoyer. I think the reason HotS shines is because it's willing to do fun, silly shit like the pirate map (and just having different maps in general, rather than every other MOBA having a SINGULAR map that's always the same). That and the weird, stupid heroes like Cho'gall, Murky, Deckard, and Lost Vikings. I was always really sad that they didn't add a Rock 'n Roll Racer as a character that has some moronic mechanic about racing laps around the map.
Blackthorne and Rock 'n Roll Racers were robbed. Orphea is fine because UOH but Quira should have been Blackthorne.
NTA, but Whitemane's healing is heavily reliant on your own damage output.
Your basic healing gives a good amount of heals, but if you spam it, the mana cost increases, up to 3 times. This basic ability does give your teammate "zeal", marking them so that they receive 100% of the damage you deal to heroes as healing.
So a very basic scenario for WM is: >heal teammate with Q >run up to a fight >attack enemy heroes and hope they don't focus you, now that you are part of the frontline.
Whitemane and Alex aren't good healers because they're unreliable. Whitemane's healing is reliant on being able to hit enemies without getting out of position and getting murdered. She's good in some situations and a lot of fun, but in more serious matches she just flounders because anybody on the other team that knows her shit can handicap her. Alexstrasza's similar because her healing relies too heavily on positioning. She basically puts down a little circle that tells the other team to drop stuff into it for free hits. It's a Feed Azmodan targeting reticule. Compare her to Deckard and how he does a similar schtick but just drops shit all over the place so the team can grab it when they need to.
I also tend to say Ana is unreliable because her healing is so reliant on skillshots, but if you're good at her and your team aren't ADD spazzes then it's not as bad.
It's disgusting how good Deckard Cain's kit is allowed to be. Just looking at it in the most basic manner his E alone is a fricking ultimate on a basic CD, add into how he can AoE slow to hit it too so fricking stupid.
>I'm a based pirate map enjoyer.
I think aesthetically it's a good map but the snowball potential is just outrageous. Whoever gets the first 1-2 turn ins wins the majority of the time, it got really demoralizing to play after a while. That's kind of why I liked haunted mines more, it was anyone's game and the game felt more on edge. >I think the reason HotS shines is because it's willing to do fun, silly shit
Absolutely, no other moba had characters that just fundamentally either broke mechanics or totally went outside of them. They just had a lot of fun designing the heroes and it shows. The game was genuinely fun when I was playing it in 2015, might still be but I haven't tried it in years.
>On a note more related to the game, for anyone who did actually play it, what were your fondest memories or favorite heroes?
Playing Cho'gall with friends were the best moments I've ever had in a moba
I remember a moment where I played Orphea when you could still double chomp and I was so well farmed that I bursted a tank with spellshield active with just my chomps, felt very satisfying
Hots is definitely the last good game Blizzard made.
>Playing Cho'gall with friends were the best moments I've ever had in a moba
I had the exact same experience playing with my best friend, we had such a blast playing chogall.
>On a note more related to the game, for anyone who did actually play it, what were your fondest memories or favorite heroes?

>that trio
and lose to opposing siege pushing rat playstyle. map presence is everything. Zagara can win games all by herself because people refuse to deal with her properly.
My fondest memories of the game were when Tasadar wasn't reworked. My favorite support hero turned into a generic mage; he was my favorite. >descent damage with excellent wave clear and escape that can offlane, making for a really fun hit and run play style >top tier shield that hardcore enabled assassins to dive deep >silly archon ult that allowed you to solo unexpecting assassins with shield life steal or for a refreshed escape >non stop wall ultimate for more silliness.
Pre-rework Kerrigan, Zagara, Falstad, pre-rework Azmo everyone slept on (damn those dunks through the whole map were unreal, so tasty to blind dunk a dying squishie through sheer power of foresight)
damn I remember when I started maining Illidong, it was after I saw a youtube comment when Cho'Gall just came out saying Illidong could bully him, so to try to prove that comment wrong that Illidon could in fact not beat Cho'gall I started playing him and he then I learned that he infact could defeat Cho'Gall with this old talent called Titan Killer that made him do % damage instead of regular damage, and the rest is history, I basically started maining only edgy characters, Illidan, Malthael, Alarak, etc. I miss those times broskys, Heroes was the last bastion of basedness Blizzard had before they pulled the plug
kinda, it has been a blessing in disguise because girls are still allowed to be sexy. The problem lies on OW champs being cancerous but apart from that as the previous anon said there is no problem in finding a quick match
I like this game, but it's been years since the last hero or relevant patch. Some friends are still playing ARAM (only ARAM) for a couple hours every day, litteraly every days.
I just can't play anymore with them, even in full random, it's always the same heroes. Always fricking Zagara (1.5%) or Mephisto or Chromie or shit like that. You end up as the lone melee in your team vs another team of mega cancer range for 80% of the game. I can't fathom how people keep "playing" Zagara after so long, she's not even fun, you do nothing.
In my experience most people are willing to pick 1 tank 1 healer most games. But yes the spam of same heroes like Falstad, Xul'jin, Orphelia, Nazeebo etc. every game gets mind-numbing.
Hots is quite nice game unironically. Basically it is what you should except from "MOBA with Fast and dynamic gameplay" not unbalanced ness what League Of Legends is.
Basically Dota 2 and Hots can coexists because dota 2 is for people who want more strategic and less dynamic gameplay and Hots is for people who want fast dynamic gameplay.
I still play it with friends, because matches are short and we can do half a dozen of them and then call it a day. there are still new players for some reason and queues are not htat long
This game was pretty great, but god damn I fricking hated when they fricked around with my favourite characters and "reworked" them to feel like shit to play, in order to appease smooth brain morons who don't get the character
i had a blast playing HotS for a little while. i'd probably check it out again some day if it's not dead. i do remember Tyrael being painfully shit or boring which was pretty disappointing.
valeera Qbuild is already her strongest and only viable build. Old stealth was just moronic and the fact you want it back tells me you only played against bronzies that couldnt spot it.
Was she ever a top tier assassin? She always seems like a character the noobs complained about. She wasn't even top before the stealth nerf or when the game released
She was always one of the worst assassins, "number one player killer hero" is just a meme from some korean streamer who got that line handed to him by a bronzie
time with HotS isn't really a problem, because a match will take at max 20 minutes and on average between 10-15 minutes. Having friends to play with is deffo a must though, solo is frustrating as shit
Pre-rework Kerrigan, Zagara, Falstad, pre-rework Azmo everyone slept on (damn those dunks through the whole map were unreal, so tasty to blind dunk a dying squishie through sheer power of foresight)
pre-rework gazlowe i used to fill the screen with tnt and rape divers like artanis, or plop down like 10 turrets in the enemies base
then they took out his passive cd reduction to make him "easier"
Used to play it a lot with a friend. Problem was that he had big attitude problems and was very confrontational to others. Whenever we lost, I just shrugged and said "oh well lets try again". But he could then go on for several minutes to rant about how the other players made us lose (he rarely blamed me). In almost every game he got into arguments with other players. He received multiple warnings and got permabanned twice with different accounts. He kept blaming and criticizing everyone. I couldn't stand him anymore and blocked him. Played solo for a while and it was more enjoyable, but by then I had burned myself out.
>Your friend was better than you.
Oh, definitely. But I don't envy him if being better means being a loud, obnoxious douche butthole. I just wanted to relax and play a bit after work. He couldn't hold any job for more than a couple of weeks because his attitude kept getting him fired, and it was of course according to him everyone elses fault and not his. >he's better off without you.
Probably, but I'm more better off without him. Last I heard of him was that he had been arrested for shouting and threatening people in public for "giving him a look".
>you will play one of the worst mobas, one of the worst genres, from one of the worst companies out there >you will play it after they officially discontinued it and stopped supporting it >as if porting it to steam would change any of these
Blizzard players have brainrot and should not be considered as humans. They are even worse than blizzard shills because they actually believe the bullshit they say trying to draw in people to their dead games.
I'm reading this as you've never played before >Genji
High skill ceiling, very mobile and flexible but you can get caught out and melted if you frick up. Can kill anything but a tank trivially in a one-on-one and can get penta-kills in the endgame if one moron on the enemy team nukes you while you're reflecting. >Gul'dan
Lots of skillshots, and lots of his damage comes from completing quests during the game by landing hits with his skillshots. There's meme builds for Life Drain that let you sip people to death if their team is light on stuns, and he has an AoE fear that can single-handedly turn fights around. Absolutely no movement without investing talents into it and pre-planning your escape point. >Cancer
Abathur's gimmick is putting a support hat on top of another unit/teammate while your actual body is afk somewhere else, which is incredibly broken. The game is balanced around soaking XP in lanes and then going off to objectives for teamfights, so you can safely plant your afk body in the lane furthest from the objective and give your team an XP lead while still contributing to the fight. The hat itself is powerful on any DPS hero that has the mobility to keep up with an enemy but needs a bit more defense.
Murky is worth reduced XP and respawns almost instantly, and can respawn from anywhere on the map by placing an egg (with the downside that the egg can be killed and this forces you to take a full-length respawn). He can build for full rat DotA playstyles with an infinite channel that kills structures from out of range, or he can build to be as damaging as a DPS and as healthy as a tank and single-handedly stall the game forever.
Cho'gall takes two people to play, but has a painfully huge health pool and basically can't be stopped if the enemy team doesn't have something that hits you for a percent of your max health, so it guarantees the other team will have a bad time in draftless modes or if you pull off a cheeky draft.
>so you can safely plant your afk body in the lane furthest from the objective and give your team an XP lead
it doesnt work like that anymore thoughever?
Maybe. I deleted it for space because I'm EXTREMELY hard-pressed for it.
It's fun but it's kind of hard to play multiple MOBA's at once and it has one of the worst unlocking/progression rates I've ever seen in a MOBA and I've tried and an embarrassing amount of MOBA's. Maybe the GRIIIIIIIIIIIND will keep me from fricking kill myself in what are probably going to a terrible next 3 months. 🙂
I hope I can link my account with what little shit I had.
I remember one map feeling extremely shitty to play. Stupid woods bullshit.
Junkrat takes rocket ride and then rocket ride 20
Imagine taking two talents to have a usable ult, and missing out on the busted bullshit of cannonball
I'd wager the only blizzard 'classic' games that might end up on steam are the boxed ones that they could sell, especially if they have remasters (D2, WC3, SC/SC2).
Anyway I've ran out of hopium for hots, I doubt we'll even see a balance patch.
Game went maintenance mode before they added the only character I really wanted.

It's because playing a decrepit old man is based and patrician.
But I did also like Carbot's idea for Deckard being basically a pacifist support character. https://youtu.be/Ka1Q9DVKPLg

D.Va is fun to play.
Don't get why people hate all the OW characters.
they hate the characters because they hate the game and they hate blizzard
or because they are cancer to fight on top of all that
Eh, I hate modern Blizzard too. Still really like HoTS, and really enjoy D.Va.
Tracer seems to be the only real problem in that regard. Genji can be annoying, but you have to be better than average to make him annoying.

aaah mutts are waking up i see
Hey now scat is a kraut thing
>muh americans
>you will play one of the worst mobas, one of the worst genres, from one of the worst companies out there
>you will play it after they officially discontinued it and stopped supporting it
>as if porting it to steam would change any of these
Blizzard players have brainrot and should not be considered as humans. They are even worse than blizzard shills because they actually believe the bullshit they say trying to draw in people to their dead games.
>>you will play one of the worst mobas, one of the worst genres, from one of the worst companies out there
how does it feel to be wrong?
No idea.
Can I see her shitting?
Maybe, is genji bad? what about gul'dan? What are the cancer characters?
You can make people call you a homosexual in game chat if you're good at Genji.
I'm reading this as you've never played before
>Genji
It has always worked like that and since they stopped updating the game a year ago, it always will work that way.
Steam is a scam, so why would i care if a shitty game is now payable on it?
No, I got banned for saying Black person too much in general and I don't feel like grinding all over again
t.abathur player
Stupid woods bullshit.
what picks make you euthanize?
for me its kaels who take mana tap
Butchers with charge instead of the cuck pole
Junkrat takes rocket ride and then rocket ride 20
Imagine taking two talents to have a usable ult, and missing out on the busted bullshit of cannonball
I already play it.
Never played a MOBA but yeah I'd give it a try if they don't censor the hot Blizzard women
They don't, and they probably won't now, since it's in maintenance mode.
