persona 5 itself was yusuke's palace, otherwise no way can some artgay be best boy
I just don’t get it. I don’t hate him but he’s so goddamn boring and bland. What makes him more likable than say Ryuji, who is genuinely jokers friend.
Also his costume is boring, and he himself is just an emotional black hole until the end of his social link

He is so hyper focused on his passion for art that he ends up socially stunted as a result, and I find it endearing to have a character that has found his calling in life and gives everything to it. Moreover, his autism lends itself to several comedic situations, ignoring social cues and norms because he couldn't be fricked to learn them while perfecting his craft.
You're also totally wrong about his costume being boring (its cool) and definitely wrong about him being a black hole until the end. His whole social link is about him discovering what it means to be an artist and why he chose such a calling in the first place. The contrast between how he dealt with a creative block with personal growth and introspection compared to Madarame who simply became a fraud for money also builds up his character nicely.
Not going to pretend that he's some overly deep and complex character but as far as p5 goes he definitely outdoes most of the others.

Fair, but I can count on one hand the number of character persona designs that don't look abhorrent. They're all very weird looking next to Kaneko's demon designs.
