It's a small culture thing. In this day and age small cultures suffer because it always makes more sense for devs and creators to make their project in English to get greater reach. It's just not worth the time or money to dub it in a small languages that has a limited relevance. It's a side effect of globalization

Videogame developers also tend to not make any price adjustments for second and third world countries, and it's bad when it comes to indie developers because indie developers usually adjust their game prices around first world economies. In some US states the minimum wage is like 16$ per hour of work, so a 20$ indie game will take 2 hours of work to buy. In Romania assuming 24 work days per month it would average on minimum wage to 3,46$ per hour, and that's before taxes (around 35%) so it would be 2.24$, about 9 hours of work to buy a 20$ indie game. It's actually an improvement over 2 years ago where it would have been 1,74$ after taxes. It's way worse than that in poorer countries from what I hear.

Nothing gets dubbed in clogland except children's cartoons. To most dutch speakers, seeing popular media with dubbed voices sounds silly. idk why but blockbuster/hollywood style action media just feels completely incompatible with a dutch dub and becomes ridiculous, even if it's made here and voiced by native speakers.

Holy based, Shin-chan on Fox was my childhood. Watching perverted jokes about boobies and asses while Shin and his gramps went adventuring looking for hotties were top tier kino.

That series made me enjoy Echii too, dumb sex humor is great. The Dutch Pokemon, Avatar and Fairly Odd Parents dubs weren't bad either I think.

            Anonymous

Dutch dubs have been fairly solid in quality for cartoons. Seeing those Spongebob videos on youtube where the same scene is played out in multiplie languages elevates the work that goes into it further.

Why do so many Dutch games not even have a Dutch dub? I get most Dutchgays speak English to some degree but come on man.

Infamous: Second Son actually had a Dutch dub on it's release! It's pretty good!

It's baffling because Killzone at least had some Dutchmen interested in it because of the setting and the artstyle, Horizon just doesn't seem to be on anyone's radar at all. Or rather, Horizon's problem is that it is aimed at the crowd who would pick modern Assassins Creed games over it every single time.

Signalis is really popular, wdym? Nearly 13k Steam reviews for an indie title, there was always 1-2 threads here a day in the week it came out, and it's got memes and fan art plastered all over social media. Trillions spent in marketing does not equal popularity.

            Anonymous

I have many ideas, but there is a videogame i really want to make that occured to me in a dream. This is going to be a short draft of the game concept:

You play as dracula, he was awakened from his long slumber in his tomb somewhere in eastern europe, all his riches that he had in his castle were ransacked by invading kingdoms and many of his followers had went into hiding. So, to try and rebuild his vampiric empire, he decides to blend into civilization by pretending to be a normal farmer and trying to make enough money by farming so he can support his troops. You have to collect blood to support your followers, which you can do by either invading people's homes and killing them to take their blood or gaining the trust of women and charming them into being your servant who gives you their blood till they die... should i continue this?

              Continue

                Anonymous

Eventually, by collecting enough blood you gain the ability to summon your followers who will recieve your call and come out of hiding to assist you on this adventure. There will also be a mechanic with a suspicion meter and doing things that arouses suspicion like bloodletting or slaying individuals without putting in effort to hide your acts, the whole village will eventually figure out you're dracula and kill you. (Setting is a Orthodox Christian Town) Getting more and more followers to assist you on this adventure will make it a bit harder to not arouse suspicion, but there will be some mechanics that will help in reducing that.

    Fricking Top Eleven Football Manager
    >are you fan of the popular videogame from your country?
    I have some standards.

The fact that the guys that made it got bought out by TakeTwo of all the possible companies still astounds me to no end.

        >why do people still play that shit
        1. It has things it excels at that no other game does
        2. Most people have shit taste and can't into gamedesign, I mean, people DEFENDED full auto meta where you have to hold the shoot button so YOUR CHARACTER starts to control recoil.
        3. Cheaters need someone to shoot, HvH won't work in tarkov, lol. There's SPT though, but I don't know how good it is.

I have literally never played any of them.

You should, every hitman except silent assassin and absolution is great.
