A friend had Vista on his PC and it couldn't run Homeworld 2 during a LAN party because of broken OpenGL support or something like that.
I never had Vista on any of my own systems.
Playing Gmod at 5 FPS on a Dell laptop after watching this masterpiece: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A-rct5rfgAo
I'm honestly surprised the thing had support for Direct3D 8.1 in retrospect.
Only stick to XP until I got my hand on 7. Skip vista. Looking back, I am utterly amazed my computer could handle Guild Wars 1 at all since my computer is a piece of junk held together with old parts and duct tape.
my dad got a laptop from bestbuy with vista on it. It came with a few free plays of fate through the wildtangent client. game ran okay, but the free plays ran out quickly and my dad returned the laptop because he fricking hated vista.
my personal computer skipped right from xp to 7.
>the game is dead center, only covering half the screen >everything bordering around the game is flash Ads flashing in front of your face
It was a simpler time.
Yeah I know right. It wasn't until years later I realized how powerful that PC was and people were jealous of my speccy screenshots. I only played RuneScape and Counter-Strike: Source.
maybe my computer was just shit back in the day but I remember halo 2 being a pain in the ass to pirate and get it actually working, there were also many crazy additional hoops you could jump through to supposedly get it on windows XP but I never got that shit to work
>2009 >be me, 20 years old >Fort McCoy in preparation for deployment to Afghanistan as part of Operation Enduring Freedom >my $1400 gaming laptop arrives (it has a GeForce GT 120M video card siiiip) >play vidya in my bunk every night for a few weeks
I can't tell you how much fun this was to be able to do, I got a collector's edition of Dragon Age Origins and a copy of Empire Total War with it, and i played the hell out of those games, you have no idea. They only saw me play Empire Total War, and my XO thought it was the coolest thing
Either that baking game that came pre-installed or some free 1 hour demos of some generic shit like 'family island survival simulator' or 'fishing game' or 'spikey hair guy with sword' that came from HP.

I don't really remember too well there was a laptop with vista briefly in my house but primarily I played on my win95 desktop, or maybe it was xp

Halo 2 was a Vista exclusive. Another Microsoft way of getting people to upgrade.
Games for Windows Live was fricking ASS though.
Halo 2. I had just made the switch from console to PC after getting my first job and wanted to start with a game I was already familiar with.
i used to use some pozzed shit like rainmeter to make my xp seem more like vista cant imagine how much gay shit i did back then
Still the best looking version of Windows

So you just walk up and down the dirt street for the next couple of years while vidya at night?
The sims 2. I tried to install fallout 3 on my mid tier laptop, it didn't even launch

I remember trying to edit videos in movie maker on Vista and it just being a nightmare. Just an awful operating system.
Crysis Warhead.
