Better that having to read through 100 pages of some indie shitbrew / manifesto.

Is it 3.5 Eberron with a bit of d20 modern / future shit mixed in? If yes, I'll give it a shot. If its 5e based, or 4e based, frick no.

In current day, *probably*. If it came out in the 2000s, it might be okay.

      >Being creative is le bad

      >being creative is bad
Designing shitty games is bad. Designing good games requires a solid understanding of game design and maths and playtesting. The people who have those skills are not typically making indie TTRPGs, they make videogames. Creative writing ≠ game design.

That said: odds are I will point out
"This would be better with GURPS or Shadowrun 4e." Unless it leans heavily into being specifically *D&D* cyberpunk.

I know it's hyperbolic but imagining someone freaking out on people just because they suggested D&D is the funniest shit imaginable

Leaving a shit group because they play a shit game is not "torpedoing" it, it's removing toxic people from your life. They're perfectly free to waste their time without me, and kudos to them if they're having fun doing it. I'm just looking for something better than DnDogshit and am not a good fit for their group.

I've never understood the concept of hopping between groups, like, do you not hang out with these people normally? Is your group not just made up of your actual friends? Do you not have work friends or family you play games with?

That kind of thinking makes sense in any other medium.
Yeah you can just watch different movies, series, or play a different singleplayer video game.
You can't just drop your whole friend group because they have a slight different taste for board games.

Not showing up for one campaign out of a few is not going to torpedo your friend group unless you were already on thin ice. How socially inept are you? Frick's sake, here's how it went the last couple of times.
      >Hey Anon do you want to play in X's Exalted campaign?
      >Nah I don't like Exalted that much.
      >K
And then we went back to playing in the other campaign we were in.
      >Hey Anon do you want to play in my 5E game I'm about to run?
      >No, I hate 5E.
      >Okay.
And then we went back to playing video games together. The frick kind of unhealthy friendships do you have where you have to do EVERYTHING together or risk them blowing up?

        >i don't like exalted

What kind of homosexual makes system a deal breaker?
I doubt you've ever been invited to a game, let alone had a chance to turn one down on account of you not liking the GM's preference in system.

I look through the class options to see if anything looks fun. If not, I ask everyone what they're thinking of playing and see if we have anything flavorful. if not, I ask if we can use a different system. if not, I play for a while and have fun with my friends. If not, I stop playing and pick up later when we do something else.

To be fair cyberpunk 2020 and RED aren't all that much better when it's the same exact system of "roll dice add modifier beat DC" except with a d10 instead of d20

One is a gamist battle of attrition system and the other is a simulationist genre focused game. The resolution mechanic is a sigle insignificant similarity, it's like saying that a motorcycle and a car are the same because they both have tires.

Cyberpunk Red is a gamist battle of attrition system, where somehow they managed to make all but 3 weapons and all but 1 armor useful in combat.

Yes I meant useless, thank you.
And indeed Red came across as very disappointing to the point where even the D&D 5e based Carbon 2185 (the image in OP's post) is leaps and bounds better than it.

I call him a d&dhomosexual and don't play. What was so complicated about?
    >Inb4 b-but you're being a sperg with your friend over something trivial!!
No, i'm being blunt and jestful with a friend, why do you think someone would get offended about something this trivial?
Just because i'm friend with someone that doesn't mean i have to participate to all of his activities, i do have interests that i selectively share with different friends. For example i have a group where i can only gm D&D 3.5e and GURPS, another where i can only play Rogue Trader, Dark Heresy and Death Watch and another where i can experiment with whatever rulesystem i want.

Your pic annoys me because you can absolutely use a screwdriver to drive in a nail.
You should've spent more time in shop class so you can work with your hands instead of using those hands to complain on Mongolian basket weaving forums.
Also 5e sucks but that's beside the point.

Shrug, and play, because; I know that systems are far from a super-important thing in reality for a game, so long as it matches the play intention, and that a Cyberpunk campaign is similar enough to a DND one.
